I’ve had numerous personal friends refer me to Dan’s shop for probably 3 years. I had never used them until recently and found the guys over there to be really honest and they really take care of you. Probably just saved me $ 1000 — $ 2000 on a suspension issue and got my Acura that had «play» in the wheel driving beautifully. From 3 experiences with them recently I found that they go above and beyond for customers. Tough to find a shop that you can relax with and know you’re getting an honest assessment of your vehicle, and a fair price, I feel that comfort level with these guys.

If you need a mechanic go here. And only here. I’ve used their services several times, and it’s always the most positive experience with a mechanic I’ve ever had. They care for my car the way they’d care for my children if they ever had to. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

My neighbor referred me to Latham Automotive and I am glad he did! Let’s face it, a lot of mechanics rip people off, especially if you look like a good target. These guys are not those mechanics. Dan took a lot of time to talk to me about the problem on my car and after he identified the issue and repaired it, he took a lot of time to explain everything. I can say with 100% confidence that Latham Automotive is an honest shop and they know what they are doing. Finding a good trustworthy mechanic is like finding the holy grail. They have my business for good.

I just had the best experience at Latham Automotive with Dan and Jeff. They quickly and effectively solved a problem I was having with my car’s fuses. Their customer service was exceptional, as they were very busy but still took the time to help me out.
As a female, I am relieved to have found such an exemplary and honest mechanic so close to home. I will definitely be recommending them to neighbors and friends. The next time something happens with my car, I will undoubtedly be bringing it in to Latham’s!

Latham is great! I had an oil leak which I could not afford to replace the oil pan and all that jazz. Latham found a way to fix the leak and it was FREE!!! I just paid the price of the oil change. I trust Latham to give me a good price and to do great work. It’s hard to come by an auto mechanic you can trust now days.

I trust no one else with my cars! I recently purchased an old pickup that I thought needed the clutch replaced. Had the truck towed straight to Latham auto after the purchase and expected not to hear from them again till Monday when it was fixed. 40 minutes later my phone rang. It was Mr Latham letting me know the truck was ready to go! Turned out that some parts had just disconnected. He reconnected them, test drove it and called me to come pick it up! Been running like a total champ ever since. The best!

Very honest, very upfront about what they can and can’t do with a vehicle. Only charged me $ 20 to trouble shoot my RAV4. They changed the tires around and checked the bearings. Turns out I just needed new tires. I’ve had horrible experiences with multiple Toyota dealerships within Austin. I definitely recommend Latham if you need an honest opinion of what is going wrong with your vehicle

Latham is the only place we will ever take our cars in Austin. Not only are they honest and reliable, but they keep you updated on your car’s progress and give you an estimate of the repair costs (very reasonable prices). We took one of our cars in for brakes because we haven’t gotten new brakes in years. He could have easily said we needed new brakes. Instead he said the brakes had at least 30k miles left on them and not to change them now. Took the same car in today for a different problem and he tried first to clean up the part to see if it would work before confirming it had to be replaced. We really couldn’t ask for more when it comes to car repair and would highly recommend them to anyone.

If you are looking for an honest mechanic, Dan Latham at Latham’s Automotive is your guy! Domestic or foreign, new or old, Dan will tell what he can and can’t do, whether he can fix it in his simple, 2-​bay garage or whether it needs to go to the dealer. And he’ll tell you what the cheap fix is vs the expensive one — what you need to get by and what would be optimal. Can’t recommend them enough.

They are the best. What I really appreciate is the honesty. My family owns 3 cars and we’ll never go anywhere else when we have car problems. As a woman I had more than one unpleasant experience with repair shops. Dishonesty, overcharging, being talked down to and all kinds of other things like that.
Not so at Latham Automotive. I feel appreciated as a customer and the owner is very accommodating, courteous and professional. See Paula’s review. I agree with every word.
On top of that he feeds two neglected dogs which live nearby and that also tells me a lot about the owner being a good person.

Latham Automotive demonstrates the utmost courteous, professional and honest automotive repair services I have ever experienced first hand. The owner is patient, understanding and offers car repair without being intimidating or trying to «sell» anything above the service needed or requested. I phoned him because my car was making a funny noise, and he quickly said to bring it over and he would decide if it was something he can squeeze into his already busy day. He took a look at it, diagnosed it, and provided an estimate within 20 minutes. Fortunately the job wasn’t an all day affair so he was able to get it done in a few hours without any notice. I feel he is honest with his estimate and does not overcharge for labor and gets the job done in the shortest amount of time possible. His explanation of the work he had done made me feel very happy to have gone in for the repair without hesitation. He explained the repair work was required and made me feel at ease that by getting it fixed immediately, it had prevented any major damage to my vehicle that would have occurred soon. I highly recommend Latham Automotive for my friends and family and most definitely will return to him for maintenance and future repairs of my Toyota Camry.
