Specialties

Step across the massive marble threshold of this beautiful, historic property, drop your bags and breathe a sigh of relief. Welcome to a house built for happiness and hospitality.

The heart of our home, the conservatory dining room, offers magnificent views of the Green Mountains, an intricately carved mahogany mantle, snacks and beverages all day, and an amazing three-course breakfast, all to nourish your body and soul.

Our patio and porch beckon with Adirondack rocking chairs, patio tables, porch swings and views you will never forget.

Retreat to your guest oasis for some intimate time with a fireplace, two-person whirlpool tub and organic bath amenities. Your room may also have a two-person steam shower or private deck.

Stroll the exquisitely landscaped grounds and expect surprises: a labyrinth in the meadow, a cozy gazebo. See why the inn has received the AAA Four Diamond award since 1999.

The Inn at Ormsby Hill is a world away from cares, where you can be your true self.

History

Established in 1989.

The original building, built in 1764 by Thompson Purdy, and one of the oldest structures in Manchester, now houses the formal living room, the Gathering Room and the Library, Taft, Lincoln and Frances guest rooms. In the foyer of the old entrance is the smoke room where meats were hung and cured. It is believed that Ethan Allen hid in this «room» during the Revolutionary War.

Please see our website for more history on our historic bed and breakfast.
