I called them to schedule an appointment and they said it would take a week to get someone out to give me an ‘estimate’!!
Really?!?

NO ONE is that special

I’ve used Armstrong over the years for dryer vent cleaning. The person setting up the appointment is very accommodating. The guys who came called to confirm the day before. I got a call before they came, in fact they were early! They do a great job, and I feel they are quite competent.

The first phone and all phone calls were handled professionally and helped put us at ease. We have been dealing with deconstruction and re-​construction since last winter’s ice dams and cleaning the ducts was necessary after all the deconstruction dust got everywhere. We would have liked to have gotten the ducts cleaned after all re-​construction was completed, but cold weather came first. It took some persistence on our part, but after repeated requests, they were able to provide a «filter medium» to cover over our registers while the rest of the construction is completed. It didn’t sound like every office person knew about this material but it was par for the course for the technicians. The crew was prompt and courteous and we would definitely hire them again. It was really nice to receive the before and after photos of our ducts too.

Awful customer service.
I’m a repeat customer of Armstrong — in addition, the majority of my family is as well. I just bought a new place and decided to get the dryer vent cleaned, as well as other maintenance done. I gave them my new address, and the customer service rep on the phone said they would be there between 2pm and 5pm on the day I specified.
The day before my service, another rep calls me and tells me that they’re going to be there between 12 and 5 — another added two hours to the window that was originally told to me. Not a huge deal, I didn’t say a word. I left work at 11:45am the day after to accommodate them. The following day, I got a call saying they’re almost here around 3pm… a little while after they say they’re here. I look outside — no one is there. They went to my old address. Tech says «HOLD ON», hangs up on me, then calls back fifteen minutes later saying my address was never updated correctly and they will not be able to make it today.
I expressed my frustration, politely, and told him that I am a repeat customer as is most of my family and if he could please let customer service know to call me and rectify the situation that would be great. I expressed that I was frustrated I took half a day of work off unpaid for this. He assured me that Armstrong would work within my schedule due to the inconvenience.
The next day I got an email for a quote with a $ 30 discount — not even an apology, just a «when can we reschedule this?» I responded and said it had to be done outside of work hours, as I currently can’t take any more time off — I wasted 5 hours of time and money for nothing. I still have yet to receive a response from them regarding this. I would’ve appreciated them working in my schedule over a measly $ 30 discount — when I was already way more in the hole from taking half a day of work unpaid off.
More disturbing to me is the insane amount (22 to be exact) of seemingly fake reviews on here, all accounts with less than ten reviews, no pictures, etc.
Armstrong has lost my business as well as the business of my family.

Excellent customer service in all aspects, from submitting the on-​line request form and getting a call back within an hour all the way through the prompt, timely service itself. It was great seeing the before and after picture of my dryer vent: no wonder the dryer wasn’t working as well as it should. I really appreciated the emailed copied of our invoice and service report, too. We’ll definitely be repeat customers in the future.

Lost our chimney cap this past April in a wind-​storm. Call Armstrong (actually Boston Chimney Sweep in yellow pages and got referred to Armstrong). Arrived at date & time scheduled. Cleaned chimney and discovered problems (no liner) — said possible carbon monoxide issue! Cleaned up all soot & debris from duct work in basement, no mess left behind. Bruce explained the issue to us, and we agreed to his suggestion of a stainless steel liner, cap & cage installation. Since the company has been a family owned business for 40+ years, my gut feeling was to go with this company. That work is being scheduled as I write this review of visit #1. Will submit another review on completion of the work to be performed. Giving four stars for now, five stars after the job is completed as outlined in the proposal. So far, so good.

The Armstrong team came to my house to clean the chimney — I was impressed with their thorough work and overall level of professionalism. They provided solid recommendations about future work to be done in the house as well, and while I didn’t take advantage of their additional services I would be more than comfortable using them in the future.

Great customer service. Easy to schedule an appointment. Called ½ hour before arriving. Did a quick, clean job of cleaning out my clothes dryer vents (that I’ll admit I hadn’t done in the 8 years I’ve owned the dryer). Will highly recommend to friends and my real estate home-​owning clients.
