First off they tried seating us in a booth that had a gaping hole in the middle of it. We were given silverware rolled in a partially destroyed napkin. The good was lukewarm. There was a decent variety of food but nothing overly appealing. Sushi was good. Salad bar had incorrectly labeled dressings and only lettuce. For an adult and child lunch it came to $ 14. So I’m guessing you get what you pay for here.

Service here is great, portions are also fantastic, the food is always fresh. The sushi is also really fresh. The fried dumplings are amazing. The food is displayed nicely and it’s very clean.

I take my son here at least twice a month. This time we grabbed some pork dumplings. Completely undercooked. Pink. Cold. Tried being polite and telling the ladys that i wanted to bring it to there attention. There answer is that im wrong and they look fine. And as she said this she takes the food away. I was able to get up and get more that were still undercooked… The mngr comes put and pretty m7ch berates me about how im wrong. Had to ask 5 times for my check and i still paid in full and tipped

Worst service EVER. Didn’t finish my noodles and broccoli, manager came up to me start saying don’t waste food. Told her it was cold and couldn’t eat it anymore. Tried telling me not to get anymore food. Paid 10 dollars for a quarter of a drink and some rice until they tried saying I was wasting food and paid my bill and left. Never going there again. Nothing special but lunch Buffett is like $ 7 and decent food, Buffett included American food(Burgers, fries and wings) plus traditional Chinese foods plus a salad and desert bar. My favorite was the peel and eat shrimp and the fried rice which typically you can’t go wrong having.

We visit this place a lot the food is pretty good and the selection is varied enough to satisfy everyone. Sushi is great just writing this makes me want to go back. Really pretty typical for a Chinese Buffet not trying to stereotype but the help is the same as in all the Chinese Buffets I have visited in many states and cities. They keep a close eye on you while you are getting the food but kind of ignore you while you are at your table. Each visit has been the same so they are very consistent.

Had lunch there the other day. Food was fresh. Service for drinks was quick and friendly. Some of the best shrimp lo mein i have had in years. Will definetly go back. Prices were reasonably. Manager stop at our table just to ask how was everything he seems like he makes it a point to get to know his customers. Very refreshing.

This place is awful… they charge a lot of money and their food is always cold or taste old. I always feel sick when I leave here. I have tried it a few times, to see if the experience changes and never does. Never going here again.

Normally, this is our go-to place for a quick hit of sushi and some mediocre Chinese food. No longer. Today, the impetus of our decision to never, ever visit the Manchester Buffet again came in the form of a drink refill. My wife asked for a refill of her Sprite, and was given a cup with a used straw that was clearly used for someone else’s Coca Cola or other dark soft drink. We brought this to the attention of the waitstaff and it was greeted with superfluous apologies. However, these apologies did not seem to be sincere as we were given the cold shoulder for the remainder of our visit. We were still charged for the soft drink on our bill, and nobody seemed too fazed by the idea that we’d be calling the health department for a followup.

This was my final visit here, we asked manager why they don’t put out crab all the time and keep an empty pan there, answer was, they put out a half pound every 45 mins or so to keep people coming in but it costs them around 6 $ a pound so they limit it. The food quality has gone down and they aren’t the cleanest. Till I hear they straighten their act out a bit, my money won’t be used there

There are two full fledged chinese buffets on South Willow street, and this is the lesser of the two. It seems to be the more popular as the two times I’ve been here it’s been a lot more packed than Great Buffet down the road, and this is inexplicable except for perhaps locational preference. Seriously, I’ve compared the two and there’s no contest. Especially since the food here made me feel really sick on my first visit; which is a major demerit right there. It is also a black mark upon my own sanity for going back a second time after. Well, I had a coupon and I was curious if the first was a fluke; that can happen at these places. Well I didn’t feel sick after the second visit; I was just wildly unimpressed. Where many of these buffets have a few standout items and the rest is either bland or merely decent; there really wasn’t a single item I had on this buffet(and I grazed through many dishes) that stood out as anything better than decent. Most was worse; just completely bland and immediately forgettable. The one thing I will say in this buffet’s favor versus others in the area is that this one seems particularly well suited to seating and catering to large groups. Both times I’ve been here, I’ve witnessed large groups meeting up for lunch and they are waited on very well. While I sit alone with my water and go thirsty, actually. So if you and your friends or coworkers have strong stomachs, this is a good place to meet up. If you’re eating alone or in a party of two, don’t bother. There’s a far better buffet down the road with a much smaller chance of making you feel sick; plus multiple actual chinese restaurants with lunch buffets, or even just lunch specials, that you’ll do much better at. Your options will be fewer but your GI tract will thank you.

This is your typical Chinese-American all you can eat buffet. Food is good, quantity is endless. It’s a great place if you have a lot of people to feed…

Manchester Buffet is BYFAR the greatest buffet experience you’re ever likely to encounter. Affectionately referred to as «sauceman’s» by Manchester locals, their chinese and sushi fare is as good as any other non-buffet asian cuisine. Their lunch variety differs a bit from dinner, but both are amazing and satisfying. Lately, the suprisingly ingenius sushi chefs have been preparing more exotic varieties of maki. I recently had buffalo shrimp tempura and crunchy eel maki there and both were as good as any sushi I’ve had in the greater boston area. Sushi selection is usually small, but always delightful. They recently added a new custom grille station where you select your portions of meats, vegetables, noodles, and sauces, and the chef will prepare it fresh for you in mintues, while you browse the other eight stations of asian buffet bliss. I highly recommend the sweet rangoon, crab legs, peanut chicken, chinese doughnut(use the tongs to perform as softness squeezy test for the perfect doughnut), steak(suprisingly great prime rib), mussels, chicken wings(really crispy and meaty), and the NUMBERONE reason to go to sauceman’s: their garlic green beans. I’ve ordered sauceman’s takeout and filled an entire carryout box with green beans, just to have it as a killer side dish for a cookout. And finally, make sure you and your friends take part in the«sauceman’s cream challenge» before you leave. Its a local tradition where hungry challengers try to craft the most perfectly shaped soft serve ice cream cone(although most competitors are usually too full from their other selections to actually eat it). Finally, with their improving beer selection and installation of a brand new flat screen tv(oddly placed right in the middle of the establishment) I cannot more highly recommend a buffet to the Unilocal community. I suggest starting with a small plate of sushi and green beans, with your 2nd plate consisting of non fried meats, mussels, and crab legs, saving your 3rd(and perhaps 4th) plate(s) for the sweet rangoons, peanut chicken, chinese doughnut, and other fried fare. If you pace yourself and try small portions of several selections(over several plates and several trips), you’ll get the most out of what’s appealing about a buffet: variety. Please plate responsibly.

This place is just okay. They have a good selection, but it is a typical buffet place with mediocre food. I like how their sign says«Buffet Manchester Restaurant.»

i have eaten at the manchester buffet at least 20 times and last friday was terrible. the selection appears great but dishes are kept about ½ full, if that much. sushi was old and sushi chef just stared at us when the amount of sushi was low. i tipped him 5 $ and he just looked at me? finally he made a little but the fish was old and dry? MAYBEHEWANTED10 $.most dishes tasted funny. most of my favorites were not there, sesame chicken, a1steak, salmon, teriyaki chicken crab ragoons etc. i liked that buffet alot and drove up from chelmsford. anyone know any good buffets to try?

Located behind the Hollywood Video in the Manchester Commons. For dinner, the Manchester Buffet offers the traditional Chinese dishes(rice, teriyaki chicken, rangoons, egg rolls, lo mein, mixed veg, sesame chicken, A1 steak, dumplings, bean buns, & more), Italian(pizza, meatballs, mozzarella sticks, cheese bread), American(mac & cheese, ribeye in gravy, salmon, kielbasa, stuffed mushrooms, hot dog in bacon, onion rings), sushi, fruit bar(fruits, jello, pudding), salad bar(lettuce, garnishes, cold salads, shrimp cocktail), crab legs, mussels, soups(wonton, egg drop, hot & sour, NE clam chowder), and desserts(cakes, cream puffs, soft serve ice cream). After work, I decided to stop at Manchester Buffet for dinner on a Monday Night around 8:00PM. I started with the snow crab legs first and then the other food next. I liked the crab legs(some effort eating) and the shrimp cocktail and most of the Chinese food was good. However, the mussels were tough, the sushi variety was picked over, and the wonton was very soft(sitting in the pot of broth). The Italian and American food was okay, not bad. For dessert, I had the soft serve ice cream, jello, bananas in strawberry sauce, and fruit(the melon fruit tasted dry). The service was okay tonight(I was offered a refill on my Diet Coke and the plates were cleared during the rounds). Overall, I would recommend visiting this place when it is actually busier(during peak lunch hours and on the weekends) because the food does taste better with higher turnover(I’ve been here for lunch). I still give this place 3 Stars for lunch and dinner.
