Morin’s Service Station

Very happy about the service. Definitely honest people and nice customer service.
I used to go to Gino’s (shaws station service) for state inspection and other small mechanic issues. After he retired, I needed to find a new place for my inspection this year. my car isn’t exactly new anymore. It’s from 2003 and got 122+K on it, so it is common that I came to some mechanic shop and got ripped off by them telling me this and that needed to change or they failed my inspection.
So I just googled around and used Unilocal to find a shop that I hoped would not tell me to change a bunch of stuff. There were a few options that I had after reading all the reviews. Honestly, even though morins service station did not have a whole lot of reviews, but I can say it is the only shop that I don’t see a neg review (except one, but that was just one employee’s customer service skills and got nothing to do with the quality and honesty of this shop). Now get this, people are like, if they are generally happy, they just are happy and a lot of time they don’t come up here to write a review. But when people are upset, they do! So no neg review on here actually meant somewhat more than those with 20 good reviews but with even just 2 bad reviews talking about dishonesty. That’s why I chose to try them, and they didn’t let me down! I am so glad I went!
It wasn’t too hard to get an appointment. I got their five mins before my appointment time, the owner (I assumed it’s the owner, but if not its one of the employees) greeted me nicely. Then I waited just about half an hour for both inspection and oil change. Pretty efficient. Everything came out fine. I know for a fact that my car was taken care of by previous owner before I bought it, over the years, it was mostly fine with minor issues. However I did get pretty ripped off by one shop long back when I knew nothing. Got charged for $ 300+ for the stuff that my car didn’t need. I guess it was because I am a woman and especially an Asian woman.
Folks, this is a shop operates by respectful people with honesty. If you are new to the area or if you are a woman that does want an honest shop, definitely try them out. Morins service station is worthy to build a relationship with. I won’t be around the area soon for a few years but when i come back, I will continue come to this shop!

I called them yesterday to get my car inspected– dropped it off last night and it was done by 10:30 this morning. when i picked it up, the owner (i’m assuming) was very friendly, and let me know that i had an issue with my left brake and i should get it checked out «at some point in the next 1,000 miles or so.» it was so nice to have a mechanic give me an honest evaluation instead of using scare tactics to make me feel like it was an urgent problem that had to be fixed asap. as a naturally anxious person, i appreciate that!
also you have to trust anywhere that has a resident dog.
will definitely be coming back!

These guys are the best! I have gone to them for the last couple of years for inspections and service for my cars and they couldn’t be better. Prices are extremely fair, they go beyond expectations consistently, and have worked tirelessly with me (a home mechanic who likely knows less than he thinks he does) to keep my cars running and inspected. They refer you to the best local places for work they can’t do or feel can be done more quickly or cheaply than they can do it. They may be a little short on chit-​chat but have impressed me with every encounter. Recently, they took out the gas pumps which constantly distracted them. Please go to them to keep this local business in business!

I have only been to the service station twice, both of my visits were beyond what I would normally expect for a mechanic. They were respectful, helped me understand what the condition and problems of my car were, and I felt the price for service and parts was better than anything I am used for work done on my Volkswagen. My most recent experience, Bob, went above and beyond. I showed up last minute on Saturday, nearly in tears with my car about to break down, days before my wedding. He assured me that my alternator could be fixed before my wedding and went above and beyond to help me with cost. Bob single-​handedly kept me from freaking out and losing my mind with days before I needed to travel! These are my new mechanics for as long as I live in Manchester!!!

Hate writing this review. I really like this place, the owner is super friendly, honest, the dog is cute. Tris– the mechanic however, is just consistently rude. When I have questions or need him to explain something to me, he acts like I am wasting his time and has absolutely NO customer service skills. Dealt with him 3 times in the past couple of weeks and honestly his attitude is making me want to find a new mechanic. He is very condescending, does not explain things and gets annoyed if you ask him to (like you should already understand the inner workings of a car). I am not arguing with the quality or honesty of this shop, just this one mechanic and how RUDE he is.

GREAT WARRANTY SERVICE FOR MY INTERSTATE CAR BATTERY
My truck battery died, while still under warranty. I called the manufacturer, Interstate Battery, and they referred me to Morin’s for warranty service.
I called them and they said, «Sure, bring it over.»
I took the battery out of my truck and dropped it off. They wanted to try to charge it before they replaced it. Makes sense. I told them that I’d come back the next day, and made sure they had my phone number to call with any questions.
They called me a couple of hours later and said, «Come by and get your new battery.»
I said, «Is that an expensive proposition?»
«Just the gas to get over here. We called them and it’s fully warranted.»
I went by the next day and picked it up. No muss, no fuss, no paperwork.
Now my truck runs again, and all I spent was the gas to cross town twice.
My brother runs an auto care center in Texas, and I’ve seen them good and bad. These guys were a pleasure to work with.
Go see ‘em!
And get an Interstate battery!

Great gas station! What an experience! This is the first full-​service gas station I have ever been in since I have never seen any in CA. Definitely not used to it, but I can get used to it!
The moment you drive up to a pump, you are always promptly greeted with a friendly smile. And if your windows are dirty, they will clean them for you also! They take all kinds of credit cards (even American Express, which I find is a hard card to use sometimes). That’s always a plus in my book.
Your car needs some work done? They will do it! Fix a flat? Done before you know it! The service here is really fantastic and you can tell they take pride in their work and their long history at this location.
They have not let me down once!
