This is a review of the summer camp. It is not a legitimate acting camp, it is essentially babysitting and playing games all day. The roles are given out to people with ‘connections’. For example, one of the managers there has a child that always gets roles and it’s obvious to everyone else that it is solely based on nepotism. In fact, they don’t even have the kids act to audition for roles, likely because they know who is getting them ahead of time. This is our final year of giving them a chance. Our child has been chosen for major roles in every other camp and school play they have been in with the exception of Palace. We are fine with that being the case if it were based on merit, but it’s not. Today was the final straw. Once again all the usual names got roles, everybody else is an extra. Once again, we’ll go to the play, cringe at the singing and acting of many of the kids in major roles while better candidates act as human props. Until they’re willing to give kids a fair chance at auditions and do more than play games, it’s a waste of time and money.

Moved up from NYC to Manchester and I love Broadway shows so I had to check out the Palace. It did not disappoint. High quality production musicals, nice theater, comfortable seats, amazing prices. A must see when you are in Manchester. I will be coming here often!

Venue is great, but the musicals are unoriginal. If I see a show, I want to see the director’s interpretation of the show, not the director’s impersonation of someone else’s show. The Opera on the other hand is fantastic. Live opera is hard to come by, it may not be the Met, but it is a live, professional performance.

How can you go wrong? Ticket prices are low, the live theater is awesome and it has recently been refurbished. We saw 2 shows here this year and plan on seeing many more. We saw the Buddy Holly story in October then we saw A Christmas Carol in December. Both were wonderful ! Our seats were great, I believe there aren’t any bad seats there, being a small venue. I have not sat in the balcony though. Love this place… Go, you won’t be dissappointed.

Just got back from a 2 pm showing of the Buddy Holly Story with my mom. Parking across the street was three dollars. I got a Senior discount on tickets for my mom and military discount for me for a total of $ 60. The theater is small enough that even our seats in the back row were close enough not to miss any details. My mom thought it was a hoot that all the ushers wore Buddy Holly glasses. My mom said the actors nailed it based on how she remembered that era.

The Palace Theatre is a hidden jewel in the city of Manchester! They offer a wide selection of concerts/plays/shows, etc for just about every one. Our family tradition is to take the grandkids to the Christmas Carol right before the Christmas Holiday. We have been going to this particular show for the past 8⁄9 years & last year I was afraid that our grandson(he turned 15) wouldn’t want to go but was pleasantly surprised when we asked him«he said of course it’s a family tradtion! » More families should go & make family memories that will last a lifetime!

I was shocked when they made us purchase a full-price ticket for our newborn when we showed up with him! They said it was«Fire Code» that everyone needed a ticket. Ok, I can possibly see that, but to charge full-price? That’s absurd! It wasn’t like he was taking up a seat! He slept in my arms the whole time. Makes me think twice about giving them my business.

I recently went to see les miserables with a few of my friends and We couldn’t stay through the entire play because it smelled so horrid where we were sitting.

A hundred year old theater in the center of downtown Manchester has a rotating schedule of musicals, comedians, theater, bands and other shows year round. All the seats in the house are great and the shows are affordable.

Seating is very tight, if your over 5’10 your legs will be hitting the chair in front of you. The light fixtures on the ceiling really need to be cleaned, dusty and a lot of dead things in there, GROSS!

So happy I came here. I saw two performances over the holidays and was very pleased. The palace theater attracts great shows and the performers are wonderful. This is an old theater but well maintained. I would suggest floor seats. They are more comfortable than the balcony. Although you have a good view from anywhere, you do need to look down if you sit in the balcony and the seat price isn’t much cheaper. Looking forward to going back for more shows.

Really enjoyed the show! Theater, however was very cramped. My shins were in the seat in front of me and it just wasn’t comfortable. I suppose I could get over it and just enjoy the show. If you are over 6′ you might think again about seeing a long show here however.

4.5 stars-I have been on numerous occasions and it has always been a worthwhile experience. Just recently, we went to Recycled Percussion(who by the way puts on a phenomenal show), and had a fantastic time. Parking is easy and free at night-the garage we use is directly across the street. The ushers are a class act, and have always treated us like the most welcome guests. Tickets are extremely reasonable, and even if you sit all the way in the back right hand corner of the balcony, you will still have a great view. Definitely put yourself on their email list to keep up to date on coming shows, and maybe even win tickets! Even though the seats are small and a bit on the crowded side, the theatre has such an old-world feel to it that it would be a shame if they ever decided to modernize it(…other than the restrooms-I wouldn’t mind an upgrade there). If you have not been to the Palace, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a wonderful night out: many, many good restaurants are within walking distance, and there is a bar inside for men dragged by their wives to see Xanadu. Parents of young children, please note there is a children’s summer series of plays that your young kids will just love. The plays are interactive, and your child can meet the cast afterwards. Interesting info from the website-the theatre will be turning 100 years old next year, and in its prime housed big name acts such as Bob Hope, Harry Houdini, and the Marx Brothers. It is so nice to have this type of venue available this close by and not deal with the headaches and price tag of driving to a big city.

I love the size of this venue… so much better than a concert at the Verizon or Garden… parking is street but the city is safe enough. I wish they had MORE music and comedy.

I subscribe to the Huntington Rep Theater in Boston and visit Broadway on occasion. I’ve attended Palace Theater performances for the past 3 years and they just keep getting better. While it’s not quite Broadway, it compares with any Boston theater company. Outstanding quality and variety. Doesn’t get better than this in NH.

The Palace Theatre brings incredible talent and entertainment to NH. It is a must see for the Manchester area. I have enjoyed so many productions there and love how they pull in talent from NY as well as locally. Amazing!

I can find no reason to dislike this theatre. I love the theatre and would see a new play every day if I could. I’ve seen several here and I am very impressed. I wasn’t sure how the performances would be in such a small place but honestly, they’ve blown me away every time. Small but has that old theatre charm. You can see everything no matter where you are sitting. Great performances, great staff, great prices, I love it here!

Great small venue. Saw Rent there and the tickets were inexpensive but the show was excellent. It is a far cheaper and closer alternative to Tremont street in Boston and the quality of cast is very nearly the same. Good acoustics and the staff is very friendly.

Manchester’s own little historic theater. Cute and quaint. Shows monthly Broadway plays/musicals, sometimes has special events like comics and fancy galas and when Giuliani was in town he had some dinnerparty there. Student Rush one hour before showtime. $ 10/ticket with student ID. Only for tickets to their Broadway shows. I’ve seen Grease and Miss Saigon so far. Four stars for SUPERCHEAP theater tickets. Minus one only because I’ve been to realdeal NYC Broadway shows for Miss Saigon, etcetc. and these can’t truly compare. BUT they are still entertaining and something different to do on a Friday/Saturday night.
