Was locked out of my apt this past weekend so gave this place a call. They picked my locks and gave me a new set of keys in about 20min. Competitive pricing, prompt service and the guy who came out to help unlock my door — Gary — has a great sense of humor.

Best Locksmith in Los Angeles. This awesome gentleman came to my rescue when I needed a key made right away. Doing business in LA. I locked my keys in my car. I had a meeting in an hour and and Art came out unlocked my car and I made it in time for my meeting. I had my own car, cause the following week I started my vacation and I was planning to drive back to Tenn.

DO NOT GO HERE. The older man who works here (they actually sent me to their other location of PCH Lock and Key) was so rude to me that a passer by stopped to tell him not to speak to a woman like that. I went to get a new keyless entry to my car made. I pre-​paid for them to special order the key, about $ 250. He told me that if I wanted, I could get an extra «master key» at a discounted price of $ 70. Sounded like a great deal so I said sure. After two hours on two separate days of him trying to program the key, he finally got it. However when I saw the «master key» he wanted $ 70 for, it was like a valet key, not a keyless entry. I told him thanks, but I thought it was a keyless entry and did not want it. THE GUY LOST HIS TEMPER AND BEGAN YELLING AT ME IN A VERY DEGRADING MANNER. I couldn’t even get a word in because he was so busy telling me basically I should have known and I was going to pay for that key no matter what. He refused to give me the keyless remote I had already paid for until I paid the $ 70 plus tax for the master key. I was appalled and even frightened at his anger (like I said, a passer by was concerned for me). I basically was blackmailed into buying a key I didn’t want or need. When I told him I was going to tell everyone who would listen about his behavior, he told me to leave and not come back. WORST LOCKSMITH EVER!!!

I had a great experience at Art’s Key and Lock after having issues with car key. In addition, I made duplicates of my house keys.
First, I went to the Honda dealership and they said they were unable to transfer my chip to a new one key that was not falling apart with out creating completely new chip. Luckily I went here because he was able to get the job done and at a good price. It works just like new!

For less than $ 4, Guy, the locksmith, crafted a key for me that works amazingly well, compared to all prior duplicate keys I’ve used! Fast, friendly and inexpensive…

I needed a few copies of a key for my new apartment. After getting the copies, I brought them back to my place to discover that none of them worked. I brought them back and he took a closer look using various tools and filed them down to ensure that my copies were as close as possible to the original. He also promised to give me a full refund if after he was done with them they still didn’t work. That wasn’t necessary because after bringing them back to my place they all worked great! My keys are probably several generations removed from the originals and only a top notch locksmith like this place probably would have been able to make a usable copy.

This man knows his keys and locks. Quickly diagnosed what was wrong with my key and made a new one in minutes, all for $ 2.50. Highly recommended, no doubt the craft is an art to this man

If you want bad attitude, Chris has plenty to spare.
First time, he goofed up my auto remote while «installing» a battery. Said it was defective. I had to use his screwdriver to put parts back into place and close the remote. I asked for a discount, got regular price.
Next, I was on the way to the airport with no time to find another lock and key shop.
Needed another battery. I moved about one step closer to the repair bench, still at the front counter. Chris became a screaming mess. I told him I just wanted to watch since it did not go well last time. He yelled not to take out on him a problem with someone else. I said the previous problem was with him and asked him to settle down. He kept yelling he was not the one from before, that it was a simple job, two screws … During the entire transaction he was yelling at me.
Shop has a good reputation and I have to say I have had dealings with the owner. He is nice.
But Chris has to go.

This is the best locksmith hands down.
They don’t come any better than this. Very helpful explains everything and very fair in his price.
