Our experiences have made us proficient in many areas of optometry. We have diagnosis and/​or treatment capabilities for many conditions of the eye, including but not limited to cataracts, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, LASIK and other refractive surgeries, iritis, and floaters.

We not only have an extensive collection of eyeglass frames to choose from, we are the South Bay’s premier optical outlet for Prescription Sports Vision glasses. We carry Nike, Rudy Project, Adidas, Ray Ban, Smith Ski Goggles, Rec-​Specs, and Barracuda swim goggles.

History

Established in 1967.

Our office opened in the 1960’s. In those days, Dr. Ron Volmer’s patients would come in for their exams straight from the beach. Dr. Volmer would provide them with vision correction and his patients would leave a little bit of sand in the exam room!

In 2002, Dr. Volmer retired and sold his practice to two younger, but very experienced doctors, Martin «Marty» Melendrez and Robert «Rob» Stahl. We have provided comprehensive vision care to tens of thousands of satisfied patients in our history. We provide vision care services in a professional, conscientious, and responsible manner. By utilizing the latest equipment and techniques, we can assure you that our optometrists and staff will provide you with a great experience when you come to our office. We use a state-​of-​the-​art optical lab in order to deliver your glasses effectively and efficiently. We have complete stock of thousands trial contact lenses.

Business Owner

Dr. Melendrez attended U.C. San Diego and went on to receive his doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry. Clinical rotations included Omni Eye Services in Phoenix, AZ, for the treatment of eye disease and cataracts, and Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, treating eye related injuries.
