Dr. Curtis & Dr. Khuen are wonderful. I was taking both my girls there for a while. Dr. Curtis was actually the pediatrician at Little Company of Mary when I had to take my then 3 day old baby to the hospital due to a sore throat. She was very caring, gentle, and not only concerned about the well being of my baby but also my well being. I eventually moved to Bellflower and the long drive with traffic was something I didn’t mind, but when I got laid off I no longer had the insurance nor the money to pay out of pocket. But both of the doctors there are wonderful and very thorough. If I had the insurance I want (PPO) I would definitely be taking my kids there again. I highly recommend them and their facility. Great with children and answer every question you have. They do a wonderful job, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do.

I, like several of the reviewers, am pleased with the doctors and level of care. However, I have had some negative experience with the front office staff in an attempt to make routine appointments. The hold time has been excessively long and they have frankly been quite rude about the matter. If the customer service was better, they’d get 5 stars for sure!

I have nothing but positive stuff to say about this office and these doctors. I have 2 boys and they both go here.
We ask for Dr Curtis for our regular wellness checkups as my conversation flows quite well with her. She is efficient without making me feel rushed — she always asks if I have additional questions near the end of our time and sits with us until I ask all the questions on my list (my husband and I make a list on our phones). She is prescriptive, does not waver in her diagnosis and makes me feel confident that she is with the latest news (school diseases, nursing needs, etc). She is a grandmother of young babies so has newborn care top of mind in her own personal life too.
Dr Kuehn is also good. She goes by her maiden name but her business cards say Dr Sarah Kuehn Gerhardt. She was our ped when my firstborn was born. She listens and is patient and caring. I think she has three young children. Oh, she’s also young and gorgeous — my friends’ toddler boys like her. :)
There is a new doctor (Dr Sandy Smith-​Lang) to this practice and she goes by Dr Sandy. She practiced for years at another practice so is well seasoned and her bedside manner is similar to the Curtis Kuehn combo. We have had great interactions with Dr Sandy. She even asked that we text her a photo to see if we needed to take my son in over a holiday weekend! So awesome. What a great addition.
It seems a number of prior reviewers had problems with the front office. Maybe their receptionist has changed 2 – 3 times in the last 3 years. We loved Lucy — she was usually busy with the phones but always kind — she asked me if I needed more samples or baby Tylenol coupons at every appointment because she remembered that I liked them. That’s great! Lucy is expecting a child soon and so there is a new receptionist at the helm. She’s been there for a month or so at this point. Also busy but she’s full of smiles and has been good at getting back to us.
PS. There is a highly addictive wooden train set in the waiting room. My son is very excited about going to the doctor because of this toy. But I also always leave with a boy whining about wanting to play more.

The doctors in this office are nice and do a good job of getting you in the same day with no long waits.
On another note, the main girl at the front desk is completely rude and her smile seems fake. I’ve never had a pleasant interaction with her. The staff in the back for the most part are friendly but a few not so much.

I’ve been going to Dr. Curtis’ office since my twins were born. They’re now 7 and she & Dr. Khuen-​Gerhardt are AWESOME!!! I agree with the other reviewer that they give just the right amount of care without being overbearing. I see each doctor interchangeably. They’re wonderful & my kids love them!
I have to also agree with the other reviewers that the front desk is less than optimal, to put it politely. I still give the Dr.‘s 5-​stars because it seems that every doctor’s front desk staff is typically pretty rude. I’m not sure where this phenomenon comes from, but I guess good help is hard to find.

Dr. Curtis is wonderful. She never makes you feel rushed and she is very thorough. You may have to wait a little while to see her, but it’s probably because she’s taking her time with all of her patients… Totally worth it in my opinion so that I can have all my questions answered too.
Dr.Curtis gives great and realistic tips. She sits down, makes eye contact and allows me to ask all of my questions (and I have a lot!).
One time I called the office with a question for Dr. Curtis and within a few minutes, Dr. Curtis herself called me back to answer my question, amazing!
I feel confident that Dr. Curtis is providing great care for my baby.
It’s clear to me that she loves her patients.
The staff has been friendly with me, no issues at all!

Let me start by saying the doctors here are great. They give just the right amount if care and concern without being overbearing. Our first pediatrician absolutely refused to see us after my husband I opted to do a modified vaccine schedule. These doctors understood and accepted our beliefs.
The reason I could not give 5 stars is because the receptionist is SO rude. Just the other day she was sarcastic with me when I was trying to make a routine appointment… totally unacceptable in my book. And that wasn’t the only time.
All in all, the pediatrician is what you care about, and they are fabulous. Just be prepared when you call in.

The first desk girl is sooo rude! I’m sorry I would have to say she is a total bitch. It takes forever to see the doctor the wait is always more than 20mins. I would recommend that you go to another pediatrician!
