Since 1975, Dr. Eckhart has practiced orthodontics in Manhattan Beach. Dr. Eckhart has been an Elite Premier Provider for Invisalign, starting over 100 Invisalign cases per year, and has been in the top 10 percent of providers worldwide. He has taught general dentists how to be effective with Invisalign in his local study clubs. Dr. Eckhart also uses clear braces and metal braces, favoring the low-​friction self-​ligating Damon braces. Dr. Eckhart is credentialed by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and has treated hundreds of patients with dental appliances to stop snoring. Dr. Eckhart employs 3 highly trained dental assistants, and has a staff of 9, including a fulltime insurance specialist to ascertain orthodontic benefits before starting treatment. Orthodontic new patient exams are free. Snoring new patient exams have a modest charge.

History

Established in 1975.

We have specialized in orthodontics since 1975, and in treating snoring since 1990. Our website has a lot more information. We have helped pioneer the swing away from headgears (those harness-​type devices that used to be used to treat overbites), and have developed the MARA overbite fixer, for which we hold a patent. (You can Google it). We are now one of the largest providers of Invisalign, which appears to be an evolutionary change in orthodontic treatment away from braces. We have been in the top 1% of Invisalign providers in North America.

A great staff and a great Dentist! I decided to go with invisalign and was pleased with the service and treatment I received at this facility. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The Dr. Is very, very knowledgeable and will tell you exactly what’s going on and the process involved. You owe it to yourself to seek a second opinion and come here. I am very happy that I did.

I’m an Adult Invisalign patient and think Dr Eckhart has been pretty good. I got a price quote from my dentist for invisalign and decided to get a second opinion from Dr. E. Pricing wise, Eckhart was about $ 2k cheaper than my dentist and that was a big factor as to why I chose him.
Dr. Eckhart has been super patient with me and shows genuine concern for my treatment. He asks me how my job is going and greets me with a smile when I come in. He went out of his way to email me Invisalign’s-prescribed treatment videos since I worked far away from the office and couldn’t come in for an appointment. Then, I slipped up a bit on wearing my aligners regularly (don’t do this… you’re only slowing the process down for yourself) but he was understanding and worked with me to get back on a regular schedule.
On a downside, the front desk people are pretty unprofessional and I wish they were more friendly. They’re often checking their personal cell phones, don’t greet you with a smile, don’t remember you, etc. I have a stressful job and changing appointments has been pretty difficult, with the staff being quite non-​accommodating.

I haven’t yet begun my braces with Dr. Eckhart but I would like to send huge praises about his assistant Kristan. I had to get some teeth pulled due to crowding and cracked molars (recommended by my dentist). I decided last minute to also consult Dr. Eckhart before getting the procedure done later that day, since I am planning on getting braces soon. I was really scared about getting the teeth pulled. Kristan did an amazing job of calming me to so I could face the procedure. She even said at one point, «I wish I had known you were getting that done today. If I didn’t have patients scheduled right now, I’d go down there to the oral surgeon with you.» Thought that was so sweet and thoughtful of her. I didn’t need her to go with me, but it made me smile that she offered. I look forward to getting braces soon with Dr. Eckhart!

My daughter got her braces from Dr. Eckhard and they looked wonderful. But when she went back to her dentist, we found out the enamel came off her teeth with the braces. A couple thousand dollars, a few painful visits, 8 cavities later we think we got it fixed.

I absolutely love Dr. Eckhart and staff! All of them are super nice and helpful and are very dedicated to their work. They fixed my teeth and bite (which was a difficult case) but they manage to handle it well. Now I have a beautiful smile. Driving all the way from Burbank was definitely worth it. I highly encourage everyone to check him out!

Dr. Eckhart is the worst orthodontist ever!!! Please do not take your children to him. Because of him, I have a horrible fear of any kind of dentists. Thanks Dr. E for the wonderful job!
I saw Dr. Eckhart when I was a teenager for braces and for my overbite. He was in the process of creating an experimental device called a MARA, that was supposed to help correct an overbite. He neglected to tell my parents that this was an experiment. This was a torture device. There were prongs that constantly cut up my cheek. I still have scar tissue inside my mouth from his contraption. On top of this torture device, he RIPPED OUT A MOLAR that his MARA was on without novicane. I told him he was ripping out my tooth, but he said, «Don’t worry. I’m a dentist, I know what I’m doing.» One more yank and it was out!!! My father finally realized I wasn’t being a dramatic teenager (re: all the complaining about the pain), and switched me orthodontists immediately. I would not wish Dr. Eckhart upon my worst enemy!

I was referred to Dr. Eckhart by my trusted dentist, so from the beginning I knew I would be in good hands. I never expected how incredible my experience with Invisalign would be. Dr. Eckhart himself is a wonderful man. He is very caring and careful with his work, and he had a good sense of humor, so it was easy to be comfortable with him, which helped because I had a lot of questions and requests during my treatment. He always answered all my questions, and above all, he made sure I was happy with the results of my treatment throughout the entire treatment. I only had to have my Invisalign for about 7 or 8 months, and they flew by very quickly. He ordered me new retainers for free when they seemed to not be shifting my teeth correctly, and did everything in a very timely manner. His staff is also wonderful. They were always on top of my appointments and the reminders for them, not to mention welcoming whenever I walked through the door, whether I was at their Torrance office or their Manhattan Beach office. Both offices are beautiful and have their own parking. Now, in my post-​treatment phase, I’m happier than ever. My teeth didn’t seem that bad to begin with (although I did have a cross-​bite in one section), but now I feel more beautiful than ever, and I have a ton more confidence than I ever felt I could have. This is definitely the place to go for any orthodontic treatment.

I just finished my braces with Dr. Eckhart. I am very happy with the service. They are very friendly and easy to work with. I am happy with the result too.
Dr. Eckhart let me wear the braces for a few more months, since he and I felt that improvements could still be done. So, I went a little bit longer than the time estimated, but it shows that Dr. Eckhart cares about you.

Dr. Eckhart and his staff are as professional and friendly as it gets in regard to orthodontics and orthodontic patient care. Dr. Eckhart put me in Invisaligns and I love them! It seems to me that professional service is something difficult to come by in the general Los Angeles area. I was so impressed that I removed my daughter from the terrible service she was enduring from a different local orthodontist and brought her to Dr. Eckhart as well. My husband is next in line. I don’t give positive reviews without a deep consideration and I give Dr. Eckhart my highest review. Definitely do go to him for your orthodontic needs!

My dentist recommended me to Dr. Eckhart, and after three years of appointments, I can see why. The staff are exceptional and very nice and made me feel comfortable. Even though I started slacking on my responsibilities as a patient (ex: wearing rubber bands), Dr. Eckhart remained patient and gave me pep talks that got me back on track. As for the end results, I couldn’t have asked for better results. My teeth are extremely straight, and my cross bite is completely gone.
Today I am going in for my retainers, which took only ten days to make.
I know that they offer Inivisilign as well. Also he has a rewards system where he rewards you play money for good behavior and at the end of your treatment, you choose your prize. There’s some pretty good prizes too! Overall, they deserve five stars and I would recommend anyone to this business.

After visiting multiple orthodontists Dr. Eckhart was the obvious choice. Not only did I save $ 2,000 dollars, but he and all his staff members are very friendly. When I first got my braces they explained each procedure so I didn’t get any surprises. Dr. Eckhart himself was one of the friendliest orthodontists around. If you are looking for an orthodontist then don’t look any further because this is the place to go… the people there are super nice and understanding Especially Dr. Eckhart he is truly dedicated to his work in making sure you feel comfortable.
