This was a nice little place with good services and a very nice staff. However, they went out of business with zero notice and with money on people’s account.

This rating is based on the customer service I received from Telsha the owner and this review is a long time coming. I bought a groupon for a package of 3 peels and did 2 with Carleigh. She was great! Friendly, explained everything really well and I was planning on purchasing more peels at regular price. UNTIL for my third peel Carleigh called to reschedule and come the day prior to my appointment, no confirmation email or courtesy call. I thought well I must have gotten the date wrong. 2 weeks pass and I called Carleigh and she said she no longer worked there and to contact the owner Telsha. Left a couple of messages on the number where no one ever picks up then sent a message through their webpage and said if I don’t hear back in a reasonable amount of time I’m going to leave a Unilocal.I got an email soon after from Telsha with a screenshot of an email sent to someone with a different name and email saying no look I tried to contact you.
OK whatever, I just wanted to claim the service I had paid for. She finally called me and didn’t apologize but instead gave me a bunch of excuses of how she’s a new mom and she’s restructuring her business and made sure to let me know that honoring my groupon deal was a big hassle. So I set it up an appointment and it was quite hard since she only works every other Fri and Sat or some BS. In any case a week before my appointment I had an urgent matter come up and emailed Telsha and asked her to please reschedule me. She sent me a confirmation of cancellation and that was it.

Telsha is very knowledgeable sincere and considerate of her client’s needs.

I have been battling a stubborn case of hormonal acne from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome for about a year and a half now. I have been to many, many dermatologists and tried a million products along the way, which almost always made matters worse. I started going to Telsha regularly starting in February or March, and she has helped me SO MUCH. Although I certainly wouldn’t have cleared up without the aid of hormonal medications prescribed by my endocrinologist, Telshas treatment, advice, and pep talks have been critical in the healing process. Her extractions are thorough and effective; her product recommendations are on-​point and NEVER superfluous; and most importantly, she is SO generous, kind, and comforting! I still break out a little bit, because my hormones are the devil and spirononlactone takes months to kick in. But, my skin is 10 000 000 times better since I started working with her. I feel confident that things are going to be 100% under control very soon thanks to Telsha!!!

I am so happy I found Telsha! She is professional and kind. She was gentle but thorough with my skin. She recommended regimen above products — I didn’t feel forced to buy what she used but I will probably look for her recommendations from her when I do need new products. I was in good hands and highly recommend her service!

I bought a Groupon a couple months ago, made my 1^st appointment that went OK. I set up my next appointment for a month later. they called to cancel with me the day before. I had already taken the day off from work. She gave me some lame excuse about having a baby blah blah blah. I rescheduled for 2 months later as they had no openings. once again she calls me not even 24 he’s before my appointment to cancel. Telsha is a horrible. She can’t run a buissness and takw care of her baby. I am horribly fed up. Worst experience ever. She told me she was no longer honoring groypons but yet is still selling them on Groupon??? SCAM!!!(GO ELSEWHERE. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE! What service? The fake chemical peel?

Just had an amazing treatment with Telsha! I came in to start getting my skin in shape for my upcoming wedding and I’m so glad I found Telsha thru Unilocal.She was warm and funny and it immediately felt like we were old friends. The whole experience was awesome, especially the result after. She helped me figure out the right stuff I need for my skin without being pushy. I have 2 more facials on the book before my wedding and I can’t wait!

Before I met Telsha at Kareen Aesthetics my skin was in bad shape! I had cystic acne so bad that I was often embarrassed to leave the house. I found this place through Unilocal,and after only a couple sessions my skin was amazingly clear, and it’s basically been back to normal since!
What was really important was that I was not only given amazing facials but she also explained to me exactly how to treat my skin when I wasn’t being pampered by her lol. Before that, I simply had no clue how to treat my skin effectively. Her advice was great and the products she recommended (only when i asked for advice) were spot on (actually spot off to be precise haha).
These guys use PCA and the products are truly incredible. I’ve gone in for sessions every three months since December, and touch wood so far it’s been working well

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very unprofessional, not worth it and you DO NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Once Telshia gets your money she doesn’t return messages or calls as quickly as she did prior to purchase. I had high hopes and in the end was only disappointed with results that I thought I would be getting by the conversation we had, prior to purchasing. but seems to me it was just all talk to get my money. That being said Take my advice Don’t waste your time and money.

Just finished my last of three sessions of microdermabrasion, peel, and retinoid treatments. This was the first time doing anything more aggressive than a facial. Purchased the deal off of groupon and couldn’t be happier with the results. Skin is brighter, texture has improved (have some acne scarring from being a terrible person and picking at blemishes throughout the years). Have almost no breakouts, even during hormonal changes (might get one small pimple every so often). Will definitely purchase another pack of three for maintenance over time.
I had Carliegh for all three treatments. She would always call the day before treatment to confirm, was never late I even would show up early and she was always there even if she didn’t have an appointment right before me. She is very professional and easy to talk to. She makes sure we don’t push the skin too far and doesn’t push products on you but makes sure you are using proper products even if it isn’t the kit they offer. I did my research before starting peels so I bought products prior to starting the sessions. She makes sure you take care of your skin after treatment and after every appointment reminds me what to do and not do to ensure great results.
I drive all the way from downtown LA to Manhattan beach and will definitely continue to do so. If you purchase the groupon deal go with three for sure since results after the first session were great but if you have any issues you want addressed you’ll need more than one. Just like working out, nothing will be fixed after one go at it.
I did have a hard time getting the first appointment. Took a few days to get an appointment and I was pretty thorough in calling and emailing, but after the first appointment I just booked the next appointment after each session so I didn’t have to wait to get in and get the most convenient day for my work schedule.

So glad I found this place! I had a wonderful peel session with Carleigh who is a sweetheart. She is very knowledgeable about skin care and share some great tips throughout the session. It’s super difficult for someone who loves hot yoga and working out to avoid exercising for a few days, but a girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do to maintain beautiful skin!
I appreciate that she was on time and efficient yet thorough. Ignore the Unilocalers that are unsatisfied about how fast the session is/​peeling skin/​breakouts etc… that’s what chemical peels supposed to do! Please do your research before you invest your time and money on peels instead of complaining.
I can’t wait for my next session with Carleigh. The post care kit is a must and they sell it here for a very reasonable price.

Have done my 1^st appointment/​peel with Carleigh. She was very nice and polite. I was late but she was cool. However, the package including microdermabrasion but she did it very fast and even forgot some part of my face. After the peel, my skin got dry up and new acnes breaking out although old acnes is fading away.
I will have another appointment with her next month– I may ask for a refund. I am not satisfied with the result and a quickie service.

Used groupon — facial consisted of a quick cleanse and 3 layers of a stinky substance. Then the facialist fanned me, put moisturizer on, and sent me on my way. Lasted 34 minutes. No extractions, no mask. Giving 2 stars for the experience and time being so brief. Felt like a peel I could do at home.

I really really wanted this to work out, but it didn’t. I spoke with the owner after buying the living social coupon because I was still breastfeeding. She recommended that I wait to come in until after I was done and said she would remember me and cancel the appointments I made in the system.
Fast forward to July when I came in and she said she did not remember me and it was expired. Thankfully, I had the email correspondence, and she honored my appt. Her assistant worked on me, asking me to rate my pain every 30 seconds. This was not my idea of a «pampering» facial, and in fact– there was really no facial– just one swipe of a dull microderm and a chemical peel applied.
I asked for my money back after the appt because I did feel it was false advertising. Telshia asked me to reconsider. I did notice good results in a few days, and so rescheduled for my next two appts (there were 3 total with the voucher).
I got a confirmation via email a day after I scheduled the appt. The day of the appt, I just emailed to make sure they had me, because I never got a confirmation the day before– and she said I was not in the system and I had no showed, no called back in February! So I had to dig up our old correspondence to show her what was going on.
She again apologized and pleaded baby brain. I was pregnant with twins and successfully ran a psychotherapy practice with hundreds of clients and four employees, without missing one appointment– so I didn’t buy it. I asked for a refund, which she said she would do. She then retracted and said I would need to go through living social. LOL
Not a great business mind, but if you can deal with the wishy washiness, the skin results weren’t bad.

Last week had the last peel of 3 for the groupon I purchased. I enjoyed the experience although didn’t see much as far as results. Teresa was very friendly and gentle but I have to admit I felt Ava did a much better job applying the peel and informing me about what other things I can do to get better results. Clean, very short wait, and great attention by both Teresa and Ava.

I highly recommend Kareen Aesthetics. The young woman who did my peel, Ava, was excellent. Very friendly, great conversation, and most of all, extremely knowledgeable about the different layers of the peel. She gave me a detailed plan for post-​peel recovery. I can’t wait to go back for my 2^nd and 3^rd peels! The facility was very nice and clean, and I found parking very easily. If you go, make sure to ask for Ava.

Called for a whole month and left messages no one ever got back to me. I also left a message online. Nothing!
So disappointing ! Should have listened to my friend and gone for «rose aesthetics «
Anyway tired of waiting so I had to get a refund from groupon.

I just got my first out of three peels done this past Saturday and I love the results so far, it’s Thursday and I’m almost done with the peeling I just have some around my face (sides of cheeks, around my forehead and a bit on my chin).
Shauna was wonderful, she explained everything and was very calm and soft spoken that really calmed my nerves as it was my first peel and even though I did lots of research I was still very anxious.
I can’t wait to see the results of my next two peels. I think the microdermabrasion prior to the peel is a must… it really kicks it up a notch.
PS I read the reviews before purchasing the Groupon so I knew Telsha would probably be busy but whenever I left a voicemail with my info she always called me back so I have no complaints with availability.

Going in I was a little nervous because I had never had a peel before and my skin is extremely sensitive. Telsha put my mind at ease and explained everything to me in detail. what she was going to do and what to expect afterwards and what to use and how to use it. She is super sweet, professional and very knowledgable about what she does.
I would highly recommend her to everyone.

First of all, shame on all you Unilocalers for giving 5 stars in order to get your 50% off your next treatment. This is disingenuous on both the spa’s part as well as the Unilocalers. Yes, Telsha has cards offering a deal in exchange for 5-​star reviews. So readers beware.
I came here with a Living Social coupon for microdermabrasion and a peel. The soonest I could get in was a few months from the date I booked online. By the way, I had tried calling a few times, but no one ever picked up and the mailbox was full. Then a few days before my appointment, Telsha calls and asks to reschedule. Trying to be accommodating, I rescheduled to a less convenient time for me. Then the morning of, she calls and says she’s running 10 minutes late. So I arrive 10 minutes past my scheduled time. And I still waited another 20 minutes before she even arrived. During the appointment, I learned her excuse was that her dog made a mess with a feather pillow. Was it worth keeping a first-​time client, who had already rescheduled for you, to wait 30 minutes past her scheduled appointment? And then she asked if I was going to be late for work. Well, yes!
So then after I fill out the extensive questionnaire, she tells me I cannot have the peel because I use Retin-​A and I need to be off of it for about a week prior to that treatment. Couldn’t she have told me that a week before my appointment?
So then she said, we can do the microdermabrasion today and reschedule the peel or do both later. This was my first time doing either type of treatment, so I asked what she recommended, she said to do the microdermabrasion that day and the peel later (it ended up being a month later because that was soonest she could get me in). THEN during the microderm, she said «doing this right before the peel is actually more effective.» Then why did she recommend that I split up the treatments?
So I came back a month later for my peel and again was left waiting but only about 10 minutes this time.
The peel made my skin look fantastic after a few weeks. It even helped fade a few acne scars and cleared up my acne. For that reason only, Telsha gets her star. But her unprofessionalism and disorganization overshadow the treatment. No matter how great the results, I’d rather go elsewhere.
She also really should explain to her customers what they can’t do prior to treatment as well as before. The process is detailed and extensive, and for someone as active as I am, I need to be able to plan for these things, especially since I had to book months in advance. It also would have been nice to have been given the head’s up about having to purchase the post-​treatment kit, which isn’t cheap either.
