As it has been said, «Just do it»!
I have been to this office twice for Mammograms. I was relatively young when I came in 8 ½ years ago for my first one. The results came back showing no abnormalities, so I have waited a long time. Now, I am getting to the age where it is appropriate to get screened, so I called in to make my appointment. I was given a referral by my Primary Care Physician and it had a centralized number to call. There are 4 centers you can choose from within the TorranceI called immediately and requested this office because I know it not going to have a long wait to: A) get an appointment and B) get the procedure done in the office.
I was right! I got my appointment for the next week. When I got there, I sat for under 5 minutes and was led into the Radiology room. The tech was very pleasant and chatty. She made me feel at ease as she positioned me just right. Just when you think she’s got you smashed well enough, she adds an extra squeeze for the machine to press you. Oh my, that is really uncomfortable and almost painful! 2 X-​Rays per breast and I was out of there!
This is October, aka, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you schedule your Mammogram in October every year, it can serve as a good reminder.
Not the most pleasant thing to do, but it can save your life! Early detection is key!
