rude agent there tried to rush me off the phone when I was just asking a few questions about the property. told me everything was online. I will just look somewhere else for my friends and coworkers to live.

I’ve been living in Archstone Chelsea for more than 2 years now and I intend to renew for another year. Yes, the rent is not cheap and yes, they tend to increase it a lot in the first renewal, but if you can afford it, it’s really a great experience! Friendly staff, good gym (for those who only need a few hours of workout just to keep in shape), impecable structure and maintenance (if you need anything, just ask and it’s done in 24 hours, guaranteed). Also, I love the neighborhood. I don’t know how it was a few years back, but now I have two great supermarkets a few blocks away, lots of restaurants and access to most of the subway lines. If I could, I would never leave this place!

Love the location. Dunno what else to say, really. Love that they allow my dog Felix to stay with me haha. Great view, lovely staff. I don’t really use the gym and I’m not that great of a reviewer but I’m gonna be honest… I love my home.

I currently live here and I have to say that I LOVE this place. Ok, maybe the word LOVE is a tad bit much. The front desk are all so very nice. I’ve moved around a lot, from apt to apt, and this is the first time I’ve had friendly staff. They all greet you with a hello or a good night. I never have to say my apt number to get my packages. I don’t know if that goes for everyone in the building, but I only said my apt number on the first day of my move in and never again. The gym is a great size, but the machines feel like it’s old. I haven’t been up to the roofdeck yet, so I can’t comment on that, but I hear it’s very nice. I have 5 more months left on my lease and thinking about transferring to another Archstone. Yes, I love this place but I will be moving ONLY because I don’t like the neighborhood. It’s overally crowded with commuters, there are no close supermarkets (had to walk to the east side for food shopping), and all those wholesale shops are in this area, so you have all these people carrying huge garbage bags or luggages and they take up the whole sidewalk. THis is the only reason I will be moving. I actually only got this idea when I went food shopping to the east side and it was quiet during rush hour. No bags, no crowded streets, AND there were supermarkets, bars, and restaurants in a short distance. Maybe you can call me lazy, but I work 6 days close by, but do a lot of walking, which is the result of my tired life.
I definately would recommend this place to anyone who loves the Chelsea area and don’t mind the overcrowded and loud streets. It is convienant with starbucks, duane reade, little shops, mcdonalds, but these places are the things I don’t go on a regular basis. Good bye Chelsea…

lived in archstone key west for 1 yr. nice looking apt, your basic 1 bedroom. decent gym. GREAT location. good maintenance.
cons: needs to be cleaner… i saw a few cockroaches.
major con: RENT INCREASES. they bring you in at below market, and then in one year raise your rent by $ 500. ridiculous. and they justify it by saying they made «capital improvements»… i.e., a newly painted lobby, and upgraded elevators. not worth it.

Apparently Archstone is a nationwide supplier of corporate apartments, we’ve had one for our company for years and it’s pretty sweet. Large one bedroom, basically bachelor pad in the Chelsea area-​ish with lovely doormen, nice views and a fitness room in the Gallery, not to mention an awesome roofdeck. All in all, a great choice for a company back up.
