Beyond Body Mind Spirit specializes in weight-​loss, anti-​aging, stress management and uses Kundalini Yoga as one tool to accomplishing goals. Of all the types of yoga out there, why do we specialize in Kundalini yoga? It focuses on the body, but equally on the mind and the senses, so you can live a more conscious life and make wiser choices. Sequences of Kundalini Yoga consist of body movements that focus on breath which gives you the gift of life. Kundalini helps prevent you from feeling burnt-​out when you are overworked, increases your strength while improves your flexibility, and enhances your immune system so you’re sick less often. We include meditation so you can gain balance and harmony in your life. We offer one-​on-​one sessions because one size does not fit all and your personal practice enables you to accomplish your goals and truly address the needs you have now.

History

Established in 1989.

Michele, CEO of Beyond Body Mind Spirit, founded the company after being taught by the internationally recognized Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan. Michele has lectured at corporations such as Boeing, Viacom, and Forbes and produced a 6 month program at NYSE where she reduced stress and lowered health care costs. Although the majority of Risa’s clients are in NYC, she has conducted seminars as far west as California and as east as Russia.

Business Owner

Michele Risa, M.A. is a Health Consultant. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher by Kundalini Research Institute and is certified in Therapeutic and Hatha Yoga by Satsang Yoga Center. She holds a BA and MA from New York University and Columbia University. Risa has produced her own yoga TV show since 1998, has been a frequent radio guest, and has co-​authored a book, «Conscious Entrepreneurs: A Radical New Approach to Purpose, Passion and Profits,» Winner of the National «Best Books 2008 Awards.

Additional certifications include: Breathwalk, Conflict Resolution, Divorce Mediation, and Yoga for Children. She has completed numerous 10 Day Silent Meditation courses in Vipassana and over 16 years of White Tantric Yoga, as taught by the internationally recognized Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan.
