History

Established in 1923.

Blatt Billiards is a rare find for someone looking for old-​world craftsmanship in our modern, fast-​paced, computer controlled world. In the roaring twenties, specifically 1923, Blatt Billiards was born in New York City where there were more than 2,000 pool hall parlors. Blatt Billiards would service the pool tables while crafting pool cues, and billiards balls by hand, establishing the foundation of the company now known throughout the world as the finest manufacture of handcrafted custom pool tables. Through the Great Depression, Blatt Billiards managed to continue with a hard work ethic, while watching their finances. It was through these rough times that Blatt Billiards was put into a position to accumulate a vast collection of thousands of pool tables, bought from World War II bankrupted pool hall owners. Blatt Billiards restored and sold these refurbished masterpieces by sticking with quality construction techniques.

Stuck in a time warp to a by-​gone era, Blatt Billiards is a rare find for someone looking for old-​world craftsmanship in our modern, fast-​paced, computer controlled world. Using a combination of new and old equipment, some tools made by hand specifically for a particular task, Blatt’s craftsmen create works of art that aren’t duplicated.

In 2014, Blatt Billiards opened its newest store at 330 West 38th street and moved its manufacturing to Wood-​Ridge, New Jersey. Its new, larger New York showroom displays 65 pool tables, including antique tables, Blatt’s own custom crafted tables, the new Blatt Broadway semi-​custom lineup, and the largest selection of pool cues from the finest makers in the country.

Bought a custom pool table, had it shipped to las vegas and everything went off perfectly. the table is the best pool table i have ever played on and you can see the custom craftsmanship in every aspect. It plays awesome. The whole process was seamless. Brian knew exactly what to suggest after hearing my specs for the table and boy am I impressed. If you want an incredible pool table I highly recommend Brian and Blatt Billiards. Best customer service, craftsmanship and over all beauty/​design.

Dart Love!
Years ago I was on a bar dart league in the city and would come into the Union Square location for replacement flights/​shafts etc. Even bought my first «fancy» darts there. Haven’t played seriously in over 7 years, but have been getting friends into it lately and decided it was time for a new set. I –very– briefly considered ordering a set online, but immediately decided against — because you REALLY need to throw a set of darts to know if you love them or not.
Imagine my delight to find out that Blatt Billiards had relocated to a location quite convenient to my office! Immediate plans to visit during lunch were made.
Brian was super helpful (and handsome!) He listened to my schpiel and took out a few sets for me to throw, keeping in mind that I wasn’t ready for the gorgeous high end darts, beautiful as they were… Tried a few different weights and a few different grips until I fell in love with one particular set. :-D
The current location has ample space to browse the darts/​supplies. Instead of all the flights/​shafts being behind the counter, you can peruse them unhurried. There are a LOT! I stuck with my old favorites.

Went in to pick up a cue. Spoke with Brian. Dude was super knowledgeable. And on top of that, the guy actually provided me with GENUINE customer service. He was actually happy to help me! Okay, so that might sound like I’m going over the top, but come on! This is NYC! Nobody is happy to help you anywhere! So yea, it was a refreshing experience to say the least.
Big shout out to Brian for being passionate about what he does. Thumbs up bro. Hope I catch you sometime in the near future at an APA event.
To all those reading this review, my advice is for you to make Blatt billiards your new go-​to spot for everything game room if you live in Midtown.

Blatt Billiards is a family business, owned and operated by the best family! I worked with Brian R. on a custom Pechauer cue. This guy is amazing! Not only does he know what he’s talking about, but there’s no sales pressure at all. I came in the store a few times thinking that I’d have to spend more money. After playing a few games, he listened to exactly what I wanted (and put on some tunes on his jukebox — customer service to the max!), and then offered a solution that was better than what I had in mind. In a few weeks my cue arrived in perfect condition (as promised). We played again on his pool table and then I took it home. Couldn’t be happier. His prices are just as good as on the internet. If I could give these guys six stars I would. Best billiards and games shop I’ve ever been to!

I purchased a custom pool table from Blatt Billiards and could not be happier. I did quite a bit of research before visiting their showroom in Manhattan. I met with Brian, who was extremely helpful and knowledge. He answered all questions, provided great information and helped me choose a style. I was walked through the entire design process, which was personalized and exciting. I felt extremely comfortable with my purchase. The table was delivered on time as promised. I walked in looking for a cue to get my game up a notch, and was blown away by the customer service .I’m the type of guy that doesn’t like to be bothered by salespeople, but these guys were just professional .I was approached by a young guy, Brian. He’s got a lot of knowledge about pool tables, the history of pool (very interesting) and importantly, cues. I honestly just wanted a nice looking cue, light, and easy to shoot with. After telling Brian my needs, he pulled out 3 cues that he thought met my requirements. There was a nice detachable blue cue that caught my attention .The price was reasonable, liked the cue, so I just purchased that one.
Will definitely come back to get more stuff from them. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!

Can’t believe I had never stopped in here until yesterday. Beautiful showroom.
I called the store about an hour before and told them what I was looking for. When I got there, Bryan had picked out a great starter cue for me – a 19 oz fiberglass cue. He didn’t try to upsell me whatsoever, and he even let me hit around for a few minutes on one of their custom tables to make sure it was the right cue for me.
If visiting this store doesn’t get you excited about playing pool, nothing will :-P

Amazing selection of pool cues and darts! Looking around at the selection made me re-​live my first childhood experience in a toy store. Came in to get a gift for a good friend. A young gentleman named Brian showed me a few cues that great cues and was able to give me an in depth pro and con review on each. Super professional and ultra knowledgeable. For all your billiards and dart gaming needs, Blatts on 38th is the ONLY place in NYC that you should visit.

Blatt has been around since 1923. They recently moved from the Union Square area to its current location. If you’re seriously into billiards or darts there is not better place in the city to go. They offer the best of the best equipment when it comes to either and really know their stuff. The only thing that may turn off some buyers is that some of the guys here can be a little abrasive and they don’t carry any budget friendly gear. They aren’t ripping you off as everything they have is priced fairly, they just don’t have low end darts, pool tables, cues, or so on. When I need shafts or flights for my darts there’s really no other place in the city to go. I’m sure if I had the space and budget for a custom pool table Blatt would be the first place to check out.
