Center for Dance and Body on New York’s Upper East Side specializes in dance and fitness programs for adults of all levels.

Body Ballet® is our most popular program and combines cardio, ballet barre and floor barre exercises for a complete conditioning workout. These are authentic exercises used by professional dancers to prepare the body for the demands of classical ballet technique as well as any style of dance.

Do you want to develop core strength and flexibility? Would you like to sculpt your body and work on posture that stays with you throughout the day? Body Ballet® will help you achieve these goals and more.

Fitness enthusiasts and former dancers use Body Ballet® to get in great shape and achieve a strong yet lean physique. Join them in an atmosphere of serious purpose, concentration on physical improvement, personal care and attention.

Center for Dance and Body has regular group classes and private training throughout the week. We also offer In-​Demand Classes which can be scheduled as needed… anytime, any day! PM and Weekends!

History

Established in 2005.

Anna Lederfeind founded Center for Dance and Body as a way to make the artistry and athleticism of dance accessible to adults and young adults, both professionals and non-​professionals.

Meet the Business Owner

Anna Lederfeind L.

Business Owner

Originally from Belgium, Anna was accepted at age seven to the Conservatoire de la Danse directed by Maurice Béjart. She attended The Royal Ballet School in London where she achieved the Intermediate Level Cecchetti Syllabus with Honors.

In New York, Anna trained and began to teach with Nenette Charisse and Lee Theodore of the American Dance Machine. Anna has also been a guest ballet teacher for pre-​professionals at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance; Director of graded level ballet at American Youth Dance Theater in NYC, and teaches Intermediate and advanced Ballet at Coupe Theater Studio in Nanuet, NY.

As a lifelong dance professional, Anna also founded Center for Dance and Body (CDAB) on the Upper East Side of New York as a way to make the artistry and athleticism of dance accessible to adults, both professionals and non-​professionals.
