Literally smaller than a breadbox, this place struggles to overcome the typical, hostile CDG retail atmosphere. As a casual observer of the human condition, the sales staff are the type of people who only begrudgingly submit to being retail servants because their collective provenance lacks the requisite funds to ball out in CDG. in other words, the kids who work there love acting snobby because they are dressed in the expensive, exclusive fashunz, but they couldn’t even afford to if they didnt get the discount. Insider Tip: look at their cheap shoes. The staff was a mixed bag: girl socially inept: treated me like a shoplifter, yet left the store unattended during her shift change. It’s ok– I wasn’t going to buy anything unless she left anyway. bro was sweet and apologetic for his counterpart. Was also a real help with sizing and stock. The cuts of the black label are kind of… feminine– not really«unisex» as it purports to be, decidedly femm for me. Great space for its proximity to the highline, nice if they have your size. Kind of hit or miss. Always love CDG– always barf at its staff.

Very pleased with my experience here. After looking everywhere for the sneakers I wanted only for them to be sold out, this store had them ! They were friendly over the phone and in store. This place carries the entire Play line including all the Converse sneakers, apparel and fragrances. I also love the polka dot décor very CDG. PS: I think it’s called Comme Des Garcons Pocket now, and it’s definitely not a pop up!

This place was originally a popup store for Comme des Garcons, which stayed around after the initial«trial» period. As the name implies, this place has Comme des Garcons’s line that deals in a minimalist black and white(and shades thereof) color palette, with interesting cuts and fabrics. Drop crotch pants along with more toned-down variations of what may be available in the 22nd Street flagship location are here. Given the more limited selection and color palette, this is certainly not for everybody and it is likely to be either a love or hate thing for most people walking into the store. Lately, the line has been cutting the ladies’ clothes for more of a unisex fit, which does not really seem to work as well — hopefully they bring back the look and feel of what it was like when it first launched.

Had more time to browse through it today and I love it. It is actually recession friendly prices, and the designs are very cool and simple. Everything is pitch black with white prints(except a few white t-shirts with black). It’s very small and of course it’s nothing like the PLAY store 22nd street, but it’s actually more my style. It will only be there for another year, so don’t wait too long!
