D Movers

I just signed up for Unilocal so that I could leave this review.
After receiving inflated quote upon inflated quote by movers with less-​than-​glowing reviews, I booked these guys on a recommendation from a co-​worker. I couldn’t have made a better decision.
I worked out the details of the move with Damir, who aside from being courteous, professional and friendly, was also extremely intent on saving me money. He made suggestions for my packing so that we could be as efficient as possible on moving day (because they charge by the hour). He recommended a smaller moving vehicle to save me *even more* money, and then went above and beyond to make it work with all of the furniture and personal items I was moving. On the day of the move, he showed up 10 minutes early to park and get ready, and from that point until the very last piece of furniture was unloaded into storage, he and his partner never stopped moving – despite the fact that they charge on the hour.
Moving is definitely one of the most stressful things a person can do, and with all of the little snags and hiccups I’d run into since starting the process, *what a relief* to not have had to worry about the actual move. These guys are A+++. I will definitely use them again!

I have used Dan and his team for my last four moves in New York. We all know what a pain moving in New York can be but these guys just take care of it. They come with a positive ready to go attitude. They work quickly, as a team, with a smile on their face and most importantly– they are extremely thorough. I have never felt so comfortable leaving my things with people (not feeling like I have to supervise the moving process) and been so pleased with a service. They are professional, they are good, and they are HONEST. I will never use another mover in the city and highly recommend that if you want to minimize the frustration of moving in the city, brooklyn, queens, wherever… use these guys!

These guys are amazing. I used them today for the 5^th time and I think I am just more and more impressed every-​time. Dan and his team show up to the job with such positivity, such professionalism and most importantly, they are GOOD. Moving in NY is horrific and these guys make it easy. If you have to alter your moving schedule to get them, change dates, whatever… do it, you will not regret it!

Used these guys yesterday to move a bedroom from a fifth floor walkup to New Rochelle. They were awesome! Super friendly, very fast, and very careful with everything. They quoted me 3.5 hours and that’s exactly what it took them. They are very agreeable to do anything you need and even did an expert job of packing out storage unit. THANK YOU!

Had the best experience with Mel and the team. So kind and careful. Very funny guys too.
Very quick and efficient. Very helpful, they took my garbage down for me (old mattress and bed frame) to put in the street.

can’t say enough nice things about them. I had a really simple move and was looking for movers that weren’t going to charge me an insane amount. The price was $ 180 for the 2 hour minimum… so i was sold.
The guys showed up early, packed up my things so quick, gave me a ride over to my new apt in their van, and unloaded my goods in 40 minutes start to finish.
And they are super nice to boot!

I had a really good experience with D Movers. I had a complicated small move which involved moving stuff from two apartments and combining into one apt. I called D Movers which I found on Unilocal,I was skeptical but they had positive reviews so I called. the guy was really nice, understood what I needed. He even called me the day before to confirm. Two guys showed up this morning and within the allotted two hours both apartments were completely moved. One of the movers even hung a big mirror for me. I highly recommend D Movers. Great job.

Damir and the other guys made an awesome team and made moving a breeze! I was having such anxiety about moving and never hired movers before so I didn’t know what to expect. They arrived exactly on time and had no issues with moving from a 4^th floor walkup to a 3^rd floor walkup! They instantly knew what needed to be blanket wrapped and moved everything carefully. I can’t recommend them enough!

Damir and his team are great! They helped me move in July from a 2^nd floor walkup to a 4^th floor walkup and did it all in 2 hours– amazingly fast and careful with my things. My friends and all work with him because he is so quick and responsive and very reasonable prices, too. Would highly recommend!

Had to move my daughter from East Harlem to Brooklyn with very short notice. Contacted Damir through Unilocal and he responded immediately.
Showed up on time and with his 2 helpers. Pleasure dealing with the owner who is friendly and courteous. Moved everything without a hitch. And above all, the cost was reasonable.

I was referred to Damir by a large moving company because I had minimal furniture and a few boxes. It took less than 3 hours to move from Queens to Brooklyn (sitting in traffic took longer than the actual move time). They were quick, friendly and professional. I changed my move date 3 times and Damir was understanding and available each time. I will reccommend.

I had a sort of an emergency, had to move out within a few days and it was the end of the month, these guys came over on short notice and did a moving job I could not believe possible, everything was wrapped into moving pads so quick it was surreal and they finished the whole thing in 3 hours, I expected it to last much longer. They are affordable, you can say cheap, and I gave them a good tip and they were happy (I hope). So, definitely recommended, no question about it.

Originally, I had planned to move from 18^th street to the Upper East Side by myself with a UHaul van, but after loading everything from the 5^th floor, I knew I needed help. I called several companies, but their rates were way too high for my budget. I called Damir at D-​Movers and he said he could meet me in $ 20 minutes for a very fair rate. He helped me park the van and we systematically unloaded the van within 30 minutes (it would have taken me two hours). I am SO thankful for Damir and his help. I would highly recommend him and D-​Movers – they’re professional, nice, and accommodating.

Damir and his crew helped me move from a 4^th floor walkup to a third floor walkup. They were on time (actually, I think they were a little bit early!), they were efficient, and they were very friendly! Everything went smoothly and they never complained about the number of stairs or anything else. They were also flexible, and were willing to help me move whenever it was convenient for me. They were much cheaper and more efficient than the big companies (I’ve used 3 other moving companies in NYC and never been as satisfied), and much more friendly. I would highly recommend them!
