No wonder the store is closing, the male workers there are incredibly rude. The cashier, however, was very sweet (thats why i give this store 2 stars)

Been coming here on and off for approximately 6 months now. They offer a wide selection of products at pretty good prices — some name brand, some off-​price randomness.
*UPDATE* If I’m thinking of the correct location (near Wigs n’ Plus) this spot is closing. When you walk by, there is a sign in the window that states that all items in the store are up to 50%. However, the sign is misleading. This extra discount only applies to SELECT items (ex. Halloween costumes located near the entrance). After complaining to an associate, he said that I was right, but he doesn’t make the prices. I declined to speak to the owner.
Want a better deal? Come here in September when the store is estimated to be officially closing.

Good, cheap store. Lots of stuff. I like it that every time I check out I find something at the registers that I would normally have to go to Chinatown for, so that makes me happy. Stop here to get cheap goods, double check things like little grills and stuff before you buy them.

they have wide range of products from home goods to kitchen needs. I actually saw someone checking out the underwear in that store :)

Yes, this store sells lots of items for a very low price. Fantastic. I loved it for a while. Now it has become coincidentally consistent that the items I purchased in this store are packaged with parts missing or it’s broken.
Now, I just got back from a vaca and I wanted to use my new iron bought in Discount Mart. I found a huge chunck on the right front side of the iron was broken and missing. LOL!
On June 6, 2012, I was unable to complaint the damaged iron and request a store credit. The African-​Muslim gentleman looks at me as if I was deceiving him and with disgust. He ruled no after looking at it. I stopped him and asked him why won’t he give me a store credit. He stated that it was pass the 7 day period and there’s nothing I can do.
I was in awe.
The receipt I was given after purchasing the items on May 19^th does not state anything regarding the 7 day period /​item exchange only /​no refund, etc.
He points out to the ceiling and said, «Read». «The cashier machine is new and it does not do that.»…
I was ok but puzzled with his demeanor, disrespect and lack of professionalism this person had.

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE. They take your $ 20 bill, then give you change of $ 10. Then deny you gave them $ 20. I am 100 pct. certain I gave them $ 20 having just come from the bank. However they made me wait while they recounted the register and told me on only gave them a $ 10 bill. The women at the counter looked at me in the face and outright LIED!!!
PROTEST THIS STORE. DO NOT SHOP THERE! HOW DARE THEY THINK THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH ROBBING PEOPLE!!! If the women needed the money that badly I would have given it to her, but STEALING IS UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. I EVEN SAW MY $ 20 when he recounted the money because I had folded mine and the top $ 20 bill still had the fold marks, and his $ 10 were all new looked exactly the same yet the Manager insisted he didn’t have an overage so said I didn’t give him a $ 20.
Obviously the employee and the night Manager are in it together.
I will file a complaint with the better business bureau as well.
If anyone knows of anyplace else I can post this review to make sure this store doesn’t keep this practice up, please let me know. I want to get the word out to as many places as possible.

Love this place, aisles upon aisles of STUFF. You can get name brand prices for pretty cheap, nice staff, and great hours if you are looking for last minute party supplies or anything you need to skimp on.
BEST PART: no cc minimum!
You name it this place has it… except for hand trucks (truth).

Typical looking discount store packing a whole lot of merchandise at great prices. For middle of manhattan especially Union Square area this place wins. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen many discount stores with many of the same items but it’s pretty full to the brim of oddities and necessities.
I once needed a very particular style of plastic cups, I came here and counted over 14 varieties of plastic cups, although I did not find the ones I needed it was the closest by far and widest selection of all the stores I tried. (I don’t give up easily)
I can also tell you if you’re ever in need of a belly ring, nose ring or other hot piercing they do sell these right by the register at extremely affordable prices!
No but really, come here for simple office supplies… notebook paper, binders, folders, craft paper etc. they have it all at decent quality (can’t tell the difference) and WAY cheaper than a Staple’s or other office supply store. You can find brand name randoms like cookies, crackers, drinks, candy etc. Soaps, candles, cheap looking décor items. Tools, the tool section is amazing, they have pretty much everything you’d need for $ 1, $ 2 c’monnnn, I love it.

Confession:
I have to admit that every time I walk by here, I end up with more ornaments for my Christmas tree. Why not, right? It’s only $ 1.19 for any Christmas accessory! Great place to find filler ornaments to round out your tree. Plus the only place I found a simple tree topper for my tree!
This place definitely does the trick, especially for the things you don’t need to spend a ton of money on.
So go to your favorite store for you $ 5 – 10 ornaments, and then come here to finish up and filler ornaments to round out your Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!

There are some things that you spend money on and then there are other things that you can skimp on. For those things that you feel you can skimp on, Discount Mart likely has it. I like to go here for office supplies, craft materials and anything relatively temporary that I need. It’s surprisingly large and they have a random assortment of supplies you wouldn’t realize that you could score so cheaply. You get what you pay for so don’t expect anything brand name or particularly good quality.
For what it is, I’m a fan, but set expectations appropriately.

Decent sized discount store in Manhattan with the usual suspects as far as food, housewares etc. Go to Jack’s instead, you’ll get the same stuff cheaper.
