Eye Design® studio specializes in Eyelash Extensions Eyebrow Extensions, Microblading, Permanent Makeup & Hair Extensions The salon is run by world renowned Eyelash master and coach Nadia Afanaseva. All technicians working in the salon are graduates of extensive Eyelash Extensions & Eyebrow Extensions programs. Eye Design® studio’s beauticians use hypoallergenic eyelashes, adhesives, primers and removers developed and carefully selected by Nadia Afanaseva. All appointments are spread out 2 – 2.5 hrs apart in order to allow each client enough time to discuss desired effects and customize each treatment. Eye Design® studio services meet the strictest standards of quality and safety.

Eye Design® studio first opened it’s doors in 2012. The founder & owner of the salon, Nadia Afanaseva is well known for her skills all over the world. She won numerous international competitions throughout her career and now shares her knowledge with students at her training center in NYC. Nadia opened Eye Design® studio to keep up with demands of her clients as she could no longer accommodate all of them in her schedule. Therefore, Nadia Afanaseva decided to search for the best estheticians in NYC whom she then personally trained and taught her unique eyelash application techniques. Today, Eye Design® studio is NYC top eyelash & eyebrow extensions salon; the clientele includes high profile actors, singers and business professionals who enjoy luxury services and convenient location of the studio.

Business Owner

Nadia Afanaseva started her carrier in the beauty industry at the age of 18. She was among the first to learn about Eyelash Extensions application at the time when very few knew about this beauty procedure. Her passion for perfection and love for esthetics combined with opportunity to learn early and desire to improve, resulted in her becoming an innovator of safe Volume Eyelash Application techniques. Nadia Afanaseva also worked closely with the scientists at the lab to develop a line of safe, hypoallergenic supplies for professional Eyelash Extensions and Eyebrow Extensions. Today, NM Beauty™ products are used in top salons worldwide. Nadia Afanaseva won numerous eyelash competitions. In June 2015 Nadia served as a judge at International Lash competitions held in Las Vegas, NV.

This is based just on how the lashes came out. which were surprisingly quite full and lasted for a good couple of weeks even after a hysterical night of crying (thumbs up for that). I’m pretty excited to be going in for another session tomorrow and will be updating my review!

Absolutely love Eye Design Studio– specifically Helen! She’s been doing my lashes for almost a year now and had always done an immaculate job. On top of that, she’s extremely honest about what will work and what doesn’t. I’m constantly getting compliments on my lashes and they truly do last 3 – 4 weeks. If you want quality and consistency please do come here. It’s great to know that as a customer I come first. Definitely see Helen, she continues to amaze me :)

Today, I had eyelash extensions done by Helen. I have naturally long lashes but I’m always coating on mascara to make them thicker and even longer… I love volume and a dramatic look. Eyelash extensions were the perfect solution because now I have that look without all of the makeup. Helen did an amazing job. Even though the procedure itself is long, it was painless, and actually relaxing. I hope my lashes last long, but I will be back for a touch up when I need one. I’m so excited that I don’t have to wear mascara anymore!

I’m glad that people are happy to have been fit into their busy schedule without an appointment, on the contrary I scheduled my appointment for this prior Sunday that just passed, December 13 @ 1:40pm. Not only did I do my scheduling well ahead of time, literally a month before, I also called 3 days ahead of my appointment to confirm and ask a few questions such as how do their appointments work, I was told I would have no problem with my scheduled slot, at this moment the lady on the phone reiterates to me that I have to make it on time to honor my appointment, if I scheduled or cancelled in short notice I would be charged a few on my Amex which I used to verify my appointment slot. Now I understand the micro blading process takes about 2 ½ to 3 hours, which I was well aware of and did not have a problem.
On the day of my appointment I was very much prepared about 2 hours ahead of my appointment due to me traveling over a hour to her office in New York, New York — first I get a phone call at 11:52am which I assumed was to confirm my 1:40pm appointment once again, but NO I was being called to reschedule my appointment to be postponed for an additional 1hour because Nadia is running behind schedule. Upset at the fact that my entire day was scheduled around this visit to New York, I agreed to go in at 2:30pm instead. Now here it is 2pm in the afternoon, 30 minutes before my already postponed appointment at 2:30pm, after I already paid the $ 15 to cross the bridge into New York after I was shy of 15 minutes away from the Eye Designs office, I get another phone call from the receptionist asking if I schedule for another day, and to try and make it a better situation the receptionist offers me a 20% discount as if that was going to earn my business any longer.
I already had potential customers waiting to see my results, willing to try her out.
I refuse to give this office my business, appointments are meant for punctuality and to run a successful day.
Customers should not have to suffer on the behalf of your bad scheduling.

This was the worst lash experience I’ve ever had. I first walked in and there is no desk and no one there to greet you. I let Helen know what kind of look I wanted by showing her 3 pictures. She told me that the pictures were lashes clumped together but I told her I wanted a more natural look for my lashes to not look perfect like I glued lashes from cvs on. The process took 3 HOURS… the most a full set of lashes has taken in the past was 1.5 hours. This was the most uncomfortable process ever and at the end my lashes did not look natural at all, they looked exactly how I did not want them to look.

First time getting eyelash extensions and never going back to no lashes! Anastasia did an amazing job. They look so natural! At first, I was a bit skeptical because I thought they wouldn’t look natural but they were fantastic!
I picked Eye Design because of all the positive Unilocal reviews. If so many women are saying something is good… IT’S GOOD!

I got my lashes done for the first time last month and going in for my refill today after 4 weeks. I’ve always had long eyelashes but not full.
The lash extensions are incredibly light and you don’t even feel them there.
It makes an incredible difference in pictures and confidence! They tailor it to your eyes/​face shape and what look you’re trying to go for.
I had no idea what I wanted when I first went in and Helen did an incredible job helping me out based on my particular set of asian eyes.
We went for a 11−12mm length and 3D C curl. She brushed them for a little extra natural curl.
I would recommend for glass wearers to get a tad bit shorter length and haven’t been able to wear glasses much because the length of my lashes curl up funky.
I haven’t taken the best care of the lashes but they have help up great and have saved me so much time in the morning and no longer needed eyeliner or mascara.
This money is well spent and am trying Anastasia today before I choose which technician I want to continue the services with.
$ 150 for initial lash extensions with an advanced technician (not top) and $ 110 for refill 3D/​4D.

I started coming here a year ago when I was planning my wedding and wanted to experiment with lashes. After being extremely disappointed and underwhelmed by the work of other lash establishments in the city, I returned to Unilocal and found Eye Design Studio.
Helen has been my technician from day one and her work is never short of awesome! She is as thorough as she is patient — as witnessed when she did my über picky mom’s lashes. I had a hard time getting my mom out of the mirror at the studio and on the ride home.
For anyone concerned about the impact of this service on your natural lashes, don’t be. I too was concerned that I may be damaging my lashes and took a break from them after my wedding. I’m beyond pleased to share that my natural lashes were intact — no thinning or breakage.
The hiatus is over — I’m back on the lash train. :)

Just wanted to add to my previous review about the girls that work for Nadya at Eye Design Studio. They are really good there as well and I would recommend them in heart beat! I get my eyelashes done with Anastasia now and she is very gentle, professional and does an excellent job on the eyelashes! They always come out perfect. You can see that it is Nadya’s school because of the technique and quality. Best beauty studio in New York! Both thumbs up ;)

I am so happy I found this place! Everywhere else in Manhattan does a quick 1 hour job that does not promise thick lashes. Here, Anastacia does mine and I have always left so happy. The staff are great and friendly, and it is a clean environment.
My lashes could last for over a month, but i come back for refills every 3 weeks to keep the full thickness effect. I love that i dont have to wear eyeliner because I get the ‘glamor’ set.

It is by far the best place in NYC for eyelash and eyebrow extensions. They do individual volume eyelashes, an application that requires technicians to make custom fan for each of your individual lashes. It is much better than pre-​made fans or clusters because custom fans are never heavier than your natural lashes and are absolutely safe. I usually tend to have allergies, however, at Eye Design I never experienced even slight discomfort.
Any eyelash place that promises eyelash extensions in 1 hour for $ 60 is a no no, they will damage your lashes and it will take a lot of latisse to recover. I had my lashes done by Nadia — she is outstanding but harder to book because she mostly works with VIP clients or teaches at her training center. Helen, Anastasia and Sherry all do amazing job so never hesitate to book any of them.
If you see Nadia working in a private room behind front desk, it’s most likely to be someone important. I saw famous speakers, celebrities and models walking in there.
My eyelash and eyebrow extensions look great after 3 weeks, the picture is taken in the morning with no brushing

I have been having my eyelashes done non-​stop for about 8 years, tried many places from upper east side to Soho. This is so far the best place and Anastasia is wonderful and skilled. This is my 5th month getting lashes done with Anastasia at this salon, so far very satisfied. The only recommendation is that they can lower their music to more relaxing songs, so I can take a nap while getting lashes done.

Best experience in an eyelash studio I’ve ever had. I love how clean and elegant this place looks. Relaxing space ! The staff is very nice and accommodating.
I set up an appointment with Helen. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was a little skeptical because of my previous experiences with eye lash extension «artists «who told me that I can’t have a full false lash effect because my natural lashes are just too short and sparse. Well Helen is a real artist. She asked me a lot of questions to find out what effect I’d like to achieve. Length, volume, curl, it was all customized to give me the lashes I dreamed of.
Helen immediately noticed I like the cat eye look, (looking at my eye liner) and suggested we shape the lashes in the same way and use the 3D lashes to give me that falsies look.
I loved the result. My lashes looked amazing, bold but somehow they still looked natural. The material they’re made of is truly light as air and soft as a feather. You won’t feel them, but everybody will notice them. Guaranteed.

I am a client of the studio for more than a year now, and every time it is a very great experience! All stuff are nice. The owner Nadya is very professional and alway does a great job, if you ever try her eyelashes you will never like anyone else, she is just amazing!

I was desperate — I’d gotten my first-​ever set of extensions in Florida, and at $ 30 for 30 minutes, I should have known it was going to be bad. The glue clumped on my lashes like mascara. Six days later I begged for a last-​minute appointment, and Anastasia fit me in. Thank god, because if I had waited any longer my lashes would have all come out at once. If someone says they can put lash extensions on in less than 2 ½ hours, they’re bullshitting you. Anastasia stayed there until 10:30 p.m. attaching each one perfectly. I’m coming back for a refill in a few weeks.

I got lash extensions for the first time ever. My technician was Anastasia. She did such an amazing job. She was gentle and very friendly. All the staff members are friendly and welcoming. I will be coming for Anastasia every time I need my lashes done and I will refer all my friends to her as well. The lashes are very comfortable i do not even feel them. I did the glamour full set

Very good job! The extensions are very comfortable to wear and are of good quality. The place is clean and nice （love the reed diffuser there)
One downside is the waiting time. My friend and I booked two together but they can only do it consecutively, so we spent like fours there basically.
Other than that, I would definitely recommend this studio. Will do my eyebrow next time there as well.

I would give NM Studio more than 5 stars if it was possible.
Absolutely LOVE that place. That is the only place I go to get my eyelashes done since i found them through Unilocal.Even when i travel, i wait weeks, months, but i come to fix my eyelashes only at NM Studio. It’s truly the best eyelash extension salon in the city. Nice atmosphere, talented estheticians. They use special formulated glue that doesn’t irritate my eyes. I always had that problem at previous places i went, because i have very sensitive eyelid skin. I’m very happy that i found this salon. The lash artists do a great job there. My extensions look beautiful and soft to touch, I love them. Thank you NM Studio.

I want to give 10 stars if I could!
This is place is absolutely amazing (in every aspect) if you are looking for THE PLACE for quality eyelash extensions. The ambiance, the service, and most importantly, the quality of their work.
Yesterday was my third time returning after my initial visit. I discovered this place through Unilocal and mostly from reviewing the photos on here. If you search for all the lash extension salons on Unilocal,I can guarantee you, you will not find another establishment that shows more and better before and after photos. And the good news is these photos are accurate to reflect their work quality.
My first two sessions were with Helen. She is very nice and skilled. She did a really nice job on my lashes (let me mention that I am Asian, therefore my eyelashes are very thin and short). They each lasted about 4 weeks (I still had probably 2⁄5 of extensions left) and as they were coming off with my real eyelashes shedding, none were stuck together and I didn’t notice any damage to my real eyelashes. In conclusion, I was extremely happy with the results and the easy maintenance that I can not stop coming back. Haha.
The third time I returned, Nadia was my technician since Helen was too busy to fit me in during the time that I can come. Nadia is the master technician and she is extremely skillful in her craft and very meticulous (a perfectionist). She asked me what style I wanted for my fill, and because I have an event coming up, I asked for the most dramatic she can do on my Asian face without it looking too ridiculous. So we went with 15 as the longest in length and «dramatic» for the style. AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT… And I really am that excited about them!
Like i mentioned before, I am Asian and therefore my lashes are extremely short and thin. Even when I try to use mascara, it’s quite pointless. The fact that she is able to do below to my eyes is absolutely a miracle. So, if you are looking for a place to get the best eyelash extensions in town, you MUST come here. You will not regret it. With the one caveat that you will most likely not be able to stop coming back =P.
