GRID/​3 is an interior design firm. We specialize in planning, designing, producing construction drawings, creating millwork drawings. We design for store interiors and exteriors; small offices; hair dressing salons; showrooms. We have worked extensively in the jewelry and fashion trade in North, Central and South America. We consult in energy efficiency plus lighting layouts and specifications.

History

Established in 1980.

In 1980, Ruth Mellergaard and Keith Kovar came from Toronto in Canada to open a branch office for the interior design firm, The International Design Group. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, we began working extensively in Latin America — Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil, Guatemala, Panama. Ruth and Keith bought the firm from IDG and formed a firm called GRID/​3. In the late 90’s and up until now, GRID/​3 has created a high design, well known firm that has worked for Audi, Koroseal, WORTH, Goldsmith Gallery and Clarkes Jewelers among many other companies. GRID/​3 clients always work with one of the 2 principals in the firm benefitting from their knowledge and experience.

Business Owner

Ruth loves light and uses this awareness in her design of lighting plans and colour schemes. She is an avid gardener on her terrace and a big reader. These interests have strengthened her interest in the environment. Her lighting plans are always energy efficient, saving power for her customers and lessening the air conditioning load. Ruth is a NY State Certified Interior Designer #236.
