I won’t get too long-winded about this non-descript, run-of-the-mill nabe Chinese joint because it’s just, quite honestly, not worth it. For some reason, The Hub and I ALWAYS wound up with the bad case of the craps immediately after eating the food from this place. Yes, those in a drunken stupor may stumble upon this tiny joint and revel in the cheap, fast fare offered at late hours, only to suffer at both ends in the morning and regret it. Forgive my un-ladylike phraseology above, but you’ll appreciate my honesty more than my manners if you wish to remain in good health by heeding this review.

I would give them 3.5 stars but since I did eat most of it, I gave them 4. Typical Chinese takeout, went with the basics, chicken and broccoli and a wonton soup. Soup was a little salty but I liked the wontons, chicken and broccoli was good. A little oily but for the price, it was fine.

This place doesn’t even deserve one star!!! This used to be my go to Chinese spot, before I found a roach and a piece of wire in my food tonight! Never again!!! Do not order from here!!! This place is disgusting!!!

I like the lo mein from this place as they make it for my taste, hot and spicy. It’s nice family run place. They definitely deserve 4 stars as they serve clean good portion good with good attitude.

Everything I have to say about this place is identical to Fresh Wok across the street. All of these«hole-in-the-wall» Chinese places in this area of the UES/Yorkville are the same; quick, cheap, large portions for the money. These types of places all deserve 2 stars because its typical, nothing desirable about it, low-grade Chinese food If you want a quick, cheap lunch combo then these are your places(eg. Guang Ming, Fresh Wok etc.) If you want a quality, delicious dinner then go to Wa Jeal. Trust me.

Came in on my lunch break yesterday, and was immediately insulted. I love it when people talk about you in their own language, and expect you NOT to know what they’re talking about. I understand broken Chinese(Chinese with lots of English thrown in) I asked for steamed shrimp, with Broccoli. When I asked for brown rice I was laughed at, called a myriad of homophobic names, I work with dogs all day and I wear clothes I can easily throw into a hamper-which aren’t my fanciest clothes. I heard the woman at the front call me a «Crackhead». The place is filthy, they had fried chicken just sitting out for no reason. The broccoli wasn’t fresh, it tasted like it was from the freezer, and just thrown into the steamer. I won’t be back.

The food here is cheap but it was somewhat disappointing. The steamed pork dumplings were okay. They were frozen ones, but that is to be expected with this sort of place. What I didn’t like was their beef chow fun. They made this dish completely wrong. It is an easy and basic dish to make, with soy sauce, scallions and beef. Instead, they made it like lo mein. It was full of diced carrots, onions, cabbage, diced celery, and the noodles were too soggy. It even tasted exactly like lo mein does. I suspect that someone else had recently ordered lo mein and they may have reused the condiments and cooking oil.

Typical Chinese Take Out Place. Clean, Cheap and Huge Portions. Ordered the Vegetable LO Mein. had tons of vegetables and tofu. It took two of us to finish the box. They even have lunch specials for 4.95.Sweet deal. Will definitely try some other things on the menu next time.

Decent prices. Not the best quality chicken but decent enough. Free soda or egg roll with a combo meal.

Surprisingly good. Expected slop, got decent if not great, typical Chinese takeout. Prices are outrageously cheap. Amazingly – not overly salty, but the usual ton of grease. Beef with string beans was good, lots of string beans, stingy on beef. Beef somewhat tough, sauce was good, not tremendously salty. Cheap at $ 7.90 when most places are over $ 10 and as high as $ 13 for beef. Broccoli in brown sauce at $ 6.50 was another tasty bargain; nice n fresh, well made sauce, salty but not excessive. Loads of grease. Combo platter of chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce over fried rice was good. Lots of rice, skimpy on eggplant and chicken, greasy, $ 6.75 with soup. Delivery was prompt and courteous. Definitely will try other cheapie items like $ 4.95 lunch specials!(formerly Kwong Ming)

Ate here last night in my quest to find an alternative to Sunny East 88 which used to be my go to place until it changed ownership and the owners apparently took the food quality with them. Any way, this is about Guang Ming and not Sunny East 88. What can I say about Guang Ming? Not much. I was not very happy with the food. Nothing seemed very fresh and I fail to understand when carrots became a Chinese vegetable. My dish was loaded with them. The place was relatively inexpensive, but that isn’t enough to make me come back. I’m sorry. I guess I’m on to the next location for my UES1st Avenue Chinese needs.

Just tried this place for the first time today. $ 4.95 for beef & broccoli, rice and a soda… Yes Please! Food was hot, very tasty, HUGE portion for the price(I’ll get 2 meals out of it) and delivered within 20 minutes. Will definitely order from here next time my hangover requires chinese food in order to go away. The lady who answered the phone was very nice too!

Personally I LOVE this place. Their orange chicken is fabulous. Also, you get the entrée, chicken fried rice(or pork, white, brown, ect ect), a soda AND an eggroll all for $ 9(dinner time). Food is always fresh. The service is normally pretty fast as well. I’ve been back several times. Fast service, good food, large portions and cheap price? Count me in!

Good thing, they are open later than most(close at 11.3opm, not 11) they are OK, but I’ve definaltey had better. Both, hubby and I had a bit of a headache next day — but we’ve defianltey had worse chinese. Prompt delivery — but not really the best food. It’s just OK. but open late and conveniently priced.

Tried Guang Ming last night and ordered again for lunch today because of how insanely cheap their food is. They are practically giving the food away at lunch. They offer a $ 4.95 special of over 25 dishes with choice of rice or noodle and a soda, soup, or egg roll. Food is on par with other chinese places in the area. What is notable, however, is the crab & cream cream cheese rangoons on the menu. Not the best ones I’ve ever had but much like the ones I’m used to eating back where I’m from, but haven’t seem to be able to find here in NYC. Definitely give it a try if you’re hungry but your wallet is light.
