I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Reich. I don’t understand where the negativity is coming from! After switching birth control pills, and my skin FREAKING out, I went to see Dr. Reich literally in a state of panic.
She was sooo friendly, (pretty much) on time, and really listened to my explanation/​story of what was going on. We decided on a series of peels, plus a rx cream to start. After my skin was still not getting better, she got a bit more crafty and dug more thoroughly into what could possibly be making me break out in cysts. Long story short, I am now on two rx creams (both of which they gave me coupons so I paid $ 10 for each of them), at home peels, and an amazing skin brightening treatment that they sell at the office. She also put me on Spironalactone which really seems to be working.
Sounds like a lot, but it has been working. And I really appreciate how she tried a few different things until we finally found a combo that was successful.
The office is gorgeous and conveniently located. The front desk staff could be a bit friendlier, and maybe try smiling at patients while greeting them, but overall its a great experience. Highly recommended!

AVOID THIS DOCTOR LIKE A PLAGUE. Also, many of the positive reviews here are fake and was paid for.
The doctor Hilary promised that the lab work result would be available in 1 week. It has been almost 1 month and still nothing despite result already sent back to them. The staff keep saying the doctor won’t be coming in this week and it has been going on for 4 weeks. They staff said result are in for a while and only Dr. can tell me but she is not available. I called again today, and they said the doctor is going to be out for another 2 weeks. WTF.

Not going to bore you with drawn out detais of my issues. Dr. Reich is friendly, professional, and approachable. Had to discuss sensitive issues and she handled them all professionally and made me feel very comfortable.
Only reason I give 4 starts is because the meeting was a bit rushed (what Dr in NY doesn’t rush you though?) and because she sold me products from her own office vs. giving me options to choose from. I think her stuff is overpriced, but hopefully it works.
Great bedside manner and overall positive experience. I will be going back.

People! All the One Star reviews are ACCURATE!!!
1. I have been to see Dr. Hilary Reich three times now. For the first appointment I arrived 5 minutes early and she showed up 15 min late. For the second appointment she was 15 – 20 minutes late again. The third appointment experience was horrible. She was 50 minutes late. My appointment was at 2.15 pm and she showed up at 3.05 pm. What was even more shocking was that she pretended that she was not late and I didn’t even get a «Sorry, I am late!» Hello! I have a life, a job, a meeting to run to too!
2. Dr. Hilary will not speak with you for more than 5 min. Each time I went to her, the same thing happened. She cut me off if I asked her a question and did not care to explain the reason why she is prescribing the drugs or why she is injecting stuff into your skin.
3. I was asked to take a blood test for checking my hormones. The blood lab claimed that they sent the report to the doctor in 3 days. I called the doctor’s office 5 times over 3 weeks and no one could find my blood test report. Of course I was only dealing with the brainless receptionist all the time ‘cuz she wont let me talk to the nurse/​doctor.
4. I had called her last Wednesday to ask a question. The Receptionist Emma took down my name, my number, my question (which was very simple. «Is my antibiotic causing me to gain weight? I have gained 15 pounds in the last month and I am not sure why?») Emma promised that I will get a call back from the doctor on Thursday morning but I didn’t get a call still. Today is Tuesday of next week!
5. I should have known that this place is horrible because I called on a Monday for my first appointment and got an appointment for the next day. This should have been the clue for me, but I was desperate to fix my problem and I didn’t think this through.

I have seen Dr Reich a few times for both skin issues and anti-​aging remedies (ie-​Botox and fillers) I agree that her midtown office is not the best, but Dr Reich has always done a fantastic job on my skin care. She is knowledgable and I always love my results. She has recently moved to a new FANTASTIC state-​of-​the-​art office in the UES and I will be visiting her there.

I am a long time patient of Dr. Reich’s. She is an amazing Doctor, who is willing to go above and beyond in treating her patients. She does a wonderful job explaining conditions and treatment options. You can really tell that she is invested in her patient’s wellness. She is very polite, caring and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience with her. She has always made sure to take the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and make sure that I understand everything she is explaining to me. She is really knowledgeable and has always resolved any issue I had come in with. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Reich to anyone considering seeing her.

I’ve seen Dr. Reich few times in 2012 and 2013, and have always been happy with the treatments I received. I found Dr. Reich to be caring, informative, funny (!), and most of all — very proficient. A medical issue I had proved difficult to treat, and required months of trying different medications. Dr. Reich was generous with free samples, and continued to encourage me to stick to the treatment.

Take it from me, a high quality dermatologist is simply not easy to find in NYC. Since finding Dr. Reich, I don’t need to look any further. Dr. Reich was highly recommended by a close friend over the summer, since then I have had 3 appointments and could not be happier. After visiting 4 other dermatologists, Dr. Reich finally came up with the correct treatment and my problem has been solved. She is smart, skilled, compassionate and a very effective communicator. If seeking a dermatologist, don’t think twice, you won’t find better in this town.

Like the other reviews I can wholeheartedly agree that the office of Hilary Reich is run in an appalling manner under which the patient is not the priority. Here’s my story:
I was previously a patient of Dr. Reich’s but hadn’t been to see her in probably close to 1 year. I called in the evening to speak to someone about calling in a refill for something previously prescribed. Dr. Reich was not working that day, but she assured me she’d take care of everything and the prescription would be called in first thing in the morning… fantastic! The morning came and went and I received no call. I called in 3 times over the period of about 4 hours only to find out that because my insurance had changed to something that wasn’t accepted by Dr. Reich she would not call in the prescription. The reason for this was because I wouldn’t be a paying customer any longer. There wasn’t any other reasoning behind the decision other than that. However, if I agreed to pay the $ 275 for the visit (seems high for a follow-​up visit) out-​of-​pocket then she would call in the prescription at her earliest convenience, which wasn’t clear when that might be, and I had already indicated this issue was time sensitive. The change in insurance was NOT a concern of the receptionist last night when she assured me she could get this called in by the doctor in the morning, and now I was essentially being told I needed to spend $ 275 to get a refill called in for something that was documented as something I need. I was furious and expressed my distaste. I begrudgingly made an appointment, and the receptionist decided to hang up me before I could say another word or clarify when the prescription would be called in.
Regardless of my current insurance, I was a former patient of hers and deserve the 5 minutes it would take to resolve the issue or help me understand why this cannot be done in lieu of another office visit. I get that doctors are busy people, but so are patients, and a little respect and patience goes a long way. It is disgusting that this is how any doctor would allow their office to run. DON’T GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Dr. Reich does move quickly BUT the office staff is unprofessional, and seem miserable in their setting. I do not agree Reich is knowledgeable. Although she didn’t seem sure, she didn’t hesitate to offer to perform a procedure that would have been far from beneficial as I later found. Her diagnosis was incorrect and if she would have performed this procedure it would have been detrimental. I can’t help but feel her operation is run not much differently than a factory… The more units are moved a day the more she gets paid. Don’t question your judgment, doctors aren’t always correct and do not always have your best interest at heart. I got a second opinion and I’m so glad I did!

Dr. Reich never showed up for my appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early. After waiting half an hour (so 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) I asked how much longer it would be and was advised that Dr. Reich had not even shown up to work yet and that there were two people waiting ahead of me if and when she ever did get there. Unfortunately, I do not have time to sit in waiting rooms all day waiting for doctors to show up to do their job.

I have to agree that a Dr. Reich appointment is over before you expect to be. I’ve visited her several times and each time we met for less than five minutes. But she doesn’t really need longer than that. She gets the job done. She will get you what you need, but she’s not going to be your friend. If you want a long, deep conversations, get a therapist. If you want to get life changing medicine, in my experience Dr. Reich delivered.

Dr. Reich is prompt, thorough, knowledgeable and polite. I felt a wee-​bit rushed the second time I saw her but she did answer all my questions and she does a very thorough examination. I believe she only works out of this office on Wednesdays but I’ve not had too much trouble getting appointments when I need them. The office staff which she shares with Dr. Decotiis is hit or miss but not so terrible as to be a deal-​breaker.
