Hilton Garden Inn New York/Times Square Central

We stayed there last month on a quick 4 day trip to NYC. This hotel is located right at the Times Square and you are within walking distance to all the amazing NYC attractions.
After we got our keys we never saw the front desk staff as they are located on a different floor of this hotel. The room was small but clean and comfortable. I slept like a baby every night.
I am going to discuss some of the great features that really stood out to me:
— the hotel doors lock around 10 or 11pm and you can only enter the facility with your room key. There is also a guard present at the night time. Both of these attributes really helped me feel safe in this big city.
— convenience, convenience and convenience. This hotel is close to anywhere you want to go to in the city! Lots of great dinning options nearby as well.

Excellent location. Very clean and staff was hospitable. Would definitely stay there again.

Average hotel in a great location. Right in the heart Times Square and theater district. Room rates are reasonable for what you get. Not too fancy but clean.

The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Michelle and Andre. We received an upgraded room for no charge since we were in town celebrating our birthdays. Good location, adjacent to Time Square. We were able to make dinner reservations and book the bus tour right at our hotel. The only thing that was a little disappointing, was the size of the room and the cleanliness. Especially since it cost so much — I was kind of surprised for being a Hilton Hotel.

I took my wife to NY for her birthday and we stayed here for the weekend. Natalie and Michelle were at the front desk and both were super-​pleasant! We felt right at home. Since we arrived on a bus way before check-​in, they held our luggage and sent us on our way to wander the city with a promise to call when the room was ready.
A very clean room awaited us when we got back to the hotel. The view was very nice and the room was quiet.
The Concierge was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained which train we needed to take etc. and upon our return, asked if we enjoyed the excursion and had any problem.
The hotel is in a great location and everyone was friendly and helpful. I have absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else when I am in NYC.

Checked in today, the staff is not friendly at all, I have asked for a room with a refrigerator which they charged me 34 dollars for it, to be surprised that a refrigerator mean a tiny mini bar, in addition that there is nobody to help you with your luggage, so I had to carry all the bags myself after a 13 hour trip, then no towels or shower cap in the bathroom, the room look so old even its a new hotel, very dirty carpet, had to wait 15 minutes to have hot water, and this is my first night, really don’t know what kind of surprises I will have tomorrow

I agree with many comments about the staff. I had spent around 12 hours trying to get to this destination and when I finally arrived I wanted nothing more than to go to bed. I waited about 30 minutes for someone to check me in because the person at the desk was busy talking to a customer about places to see I believe. There were 3 people at the desk and the other two didn’t even ask if they could help me. Later that night I called the kitchen to place an order, after three calls someone picked up and told me they were closed. They closed 2 hours before the stated time. The next day I requested batteries for the remote twice and no one came. A mess.
The room itself was pretty sweet, nice view. Staff, not so good.

So far so good. Just checked in. Love the staff, love my room and especially love how clean and beautiful the bathroom is. So excited to be here!

Probably one of the worst stays I’ve had at a hotel in a long time. And I travel quite a bit. Had to change rooms because I couldn’t get hot water. Was sitting on the bed watching tv, not fully dressed and a staff member let themselves into our room without knocking! Very inappropriate! In the change my husband left his jacket in the room. Instead of calling me we didn’t learn about it until after we got home. I called and called and took over a month to get ahold of someone, by that time they had ‘disposed’ of it. Would never stay there again and wouldn’t recommend it even though the location was good, not worth it.

I stayed in Jan 2016 — the w/​end of what became known as Snowzilla. I was in town to see a concert at Carnegie Hall. I booked a corner room and was rewarded with the 35^th floor and a fabulous view of the New Year’s ball out of my bedroom and bathroom windows! The room was well-​appointed and CLEAN, very comfortable bed with nice sheets and pillows, a large bathroom with plenty of counter space and a nice walk-​in shower (it would have been nice to have a little shelf for shampoo and stuff instead of the metal basket through which everything fell). The refrigerator and microwave totally came in handy as I was able to buy food and supplies during the snow when the mayor closed everything. It’s perfectly located about 100 steps from Times Square. Easy walk to Penn Station. The staff was professional and friendly. I’ll be returning!

Best experience from start to finish. Stayed between Christmas and NYE. I booked my room months before and was given the BEST customer service to find the best rates. The hotel is immaculate. Everything is brand new. I’m a bit of a hotel snob and this was perfection. Our room faced Times Square and we saw the NYE ball from our bedroom window. Staff was friendly and helpful. Complimentary coffee each morning was a plus. Room was available when we arrived (before check in time) and they allowed us a later Check out at no additional cost. Hotel is prime location to Times Square. A definite 5 star hotel experience without breaking the bank.

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay! The front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful during my stay. The lobby is located on HL and it’s so comfortable and cozy. The elevators are a bit slow and compact, but that didn’t bother me. I was vacationing and was not pressed for time. The room is smaller than any other room I’ve stayed in, but it’s NYC. I hardly doubt anyone travels to The Big Apple to hangout in their room. The most important part was that it was clean, modern, and comfortable. Room amenities included Neutrogena products, hair dryer, and a flat screen TV. Special shout out to the front desk agent who chased me to the train station, because I’d forgotten to take my change. You’re a superstar girl! The hotels location cant’ be beat and I’d definitely stay there again!

TINY, TINY, TINY! That’s the only word I can use to describe this place. It’s obvious from the moment you arrive that this hotel was built without much planning involved. The elevators are extremely tiny and can barely hold more than 4 or 5 people with their luggage. Since the elevators are so tiny, there is always a line for the elevators. Towards the end of my trip, I ended up using the stairs because it was quicker than waiting 10 mins for an elevator. The rooms are tiny as well. As soon as you open the door you are greeted by the bed. There is approximately 3 feet between the door and the bed. I stayed in a room with two double beds with one other person. We barely had enough room for our luggage. I couldn’t imagine what the situation would have been like if there were more than two of us. Finally, hailing a cab from this place is obnoxious. The hotel sits on a part of 42^nd street that is difficult for cabs to go uptown from. If you want to get a cab uptown, you have to cross the street and go up the block. Now imagine doing this with your heavy luggage. Not fun.
The one saving grace of this hotel is the restaurant. The restaurant has great Italian food! I would probably come back to this hotel, not to stay, but only to go to the restaurant.
You can find a much better option for your money in Times Square.

The GM needs to be fired. Attention Hilton group, your are failing miserably with this property. I doubt we will ever stay at a Hilton again. The staff at this hotel are awful.
We arrived Thursday from California. We couldn’t wait to drop off our bags and go to the hotel lobby bar to relax. Well guess what, the bar was a sloppy mess. We sat down only to be told by a rude bartender that his replacement was late and he really wanted to go. Uh, we don’t care… why are you telling us this?! We finally got a drink and moved on. The next morning I attempted to order breakfast via room service. I was told by the operator when I said I didn’t want potatoes and I’d like to substitute greens that «oh um they don’t like substitutions but it’s Friday so I’ll see what I can do» okay? I then asked for cream for our coffee. To this he answered «No cream, we haven’t had cream since yesterday, milk only» first of all, go send someone across the street, you idiot?! He then told me there was a big party on the 19^th floor and they used up all the cream. We wound up canceling the order.
The last straw was coming back to the hotel lobby bar Friday night. The bar was full but they were closed!!! It was just midnight and the bartender informed us and three other couples that they just closed and we could not get a drink. Really??! Midnight on a Friday night in Times Square in December and you close your busy lobby bar!!!
Never again. Stay away from this property

I must say this was pretty ideal for me. The rooms are quite small, but I was staying alone so that didn’t really matter. I also figured I wasn’t gonna be in the room much other than sleeping and getting ready.
It was very clean — always the most important thing!
I should have asked in advance — I guess they have some sort of shuttle to the airport, but you have to book in for it at least a day ahead I guess. So that was a miss — they didn’t tell me when checking in or anything so I could have taken advantage of that. Be sure to ask!

Stayed in this hotel for two nights (Oct 18^th and 19^th). Could not sleep due to the slamming of hallway doors that continued until 1:40 am. Tried to call the front desk only to find the phone in the room did not work. Next day talked to the manager about it, said she was sorry and would take care of it. Next night again could not sleep due to slamming doors until 12:45 am, and again the phone did not work.
Mentioned the issue of the slamming doors and phone again as I checked out but the front staff had an attitude that at best ranged from totally unconcerned — to very nonchalant about it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you want to see how customer service should be done, check in at the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Central. Michelle at the front desk defies every stereotype you might have about those working in the hospitality industry in NY. She was cheerful, engaging and efficient. And she took the time to call me on my cell when one of my colleagues rooms was ready. Now that is great customer service.
The hotel is located in Times Square, and a very short walk from the subway. The lobby is small and is reached by taking the elevators to the HL level (note that the elevators are small and on the slow side, so prepare accordingly). My room was spotless, bright, clean and reasonably sized by NY standards (read: SMALL). The room looks to have been recently remodeled, or is simply kept in immaculate condition.
Given the location and the cleanliness of the rooms, I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint was that a housekeeping cart was left in the hall outside my door until at least 9:00 PM. That was not only unsightly, it creates a serious safety hazard should there have been a reason to evacuate the hotel

This is a new hotel and it shows. Everything is clean & polished and very welcoming. It’s also incredibly laid back for being just around the corner for the madness that is Times Square.
Staff is friendly and ready to help you out with any questions you might have. They’re also great at suggesting restaurants that aren’t the touristy chain places surrounding the area.
Rooms are nice, but small. Just what I expected for something in the heart of the city. But they’re comfortable and look great. The TV also has a great selection of channels so if you want to just relax and channel surf, this is the hotel for you!
You will need your room key to access any floor other than the lobby, so if you’re staying here, don’t lose your key or keep it in an area you can’t easily access.

The hotel is modern and the happy hour was forever long. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The room is very modern and compact but feels roomy. We had a 33^rd floor room on a corner. The toilet had a sweet view of the street below and the back side of the NYE Ball.
The room had a hidden microwave and fridge with a room safe too.
My only complaint was the construction started and housekeeping came too early. My slumber disrupted.
This is my first NYC stay. Usually we day/​night trip. So my scale is based on other hotels in «regular» locations. This place is clean, only 8 rooms on my floor, and the window were thick enough for street noise to not be heard. I’ll do this place again.

Prefect for us… the most accessible to Broadway/​Times Square, Macy’s, Bryant Park and shopping. Hop on hop off buses just in-​front of street and plentiful taxi.
Tight corridors and rooms yet very well planned interiors.
Lobby «Hotel Lobby» HL button in elevator in second floor. Very busy staff yet professional and friendly. Food shop in second floor also.
Traffic was bad but thats part of NYC experience.
Highly recommended place plus all new towels and sheets.
