Howl-A-Dayz Inn & Daycare

My baby goes to doggie day care here and I absolutely love it. They open at 7am which is great for me to get to work and are open till 6pm as well as being open on Saturdays. My dog has a great time here getting to socialize and play with lots of other dogs. I like it a lot because they have cameras so I can check in on her as well as see what she is doing during the day. She always comes home exhausted which is great and can’t wait to go back in the morning. The cost here is very reasonable if you do their package. My dog and I will definitely continue to use this great service!

Recently relocated to MHK from DFW. First experience here …
Stopped in about a month ago for a tour and asked some questions. The overall aesthetics of the facility are a work in progress – (I was expecting the same level of daycare center as our previous in Plano, TX). The facility does have 2 separated areas — large dogs and small dogs. The floors are cement — would have liked to see a rubber floor covering to ease wear on their joints from playing all day. They have an outdoor area — but it looks quite sketchy. Staff was friendly but didn’t really seem to like all my questions. Faxed and emailed the vet paperwork and didn’t receive follow-​up until I called to confirm everything was indeed ready to go.
Fast forward …
Took my 2 dogs in on a Saturday for their «temperament» evaluation. 10am was the time scheduled. I was running late, called and let them know we would be there around 10:15−20. They seemed shocked I called to let them know. Upon arrival we were greeted and they sat and played a big with my dogs before taking back one at a time. Both did well and were allowed to stay for the remainder of the day.
I wasn’t informed the dogs were crated from 11:30−1 daily so staff could eat. Makes sense but when you are told they play all day then check the web cam and there are NO dogs — that’s reason for concern. Yes, I called to ask.
Overall– my dogs were worn out from playing. They kept them together (whether in large or small area), the web cams worked, the staff was friendly. The downside was the concrete floors. There isn’t a discount for multiples in the same family (bummer). I was also told that the temperament day would be $ 20/​total and no daycare charge. Upon pickup I was told $ 40/​day since they stayed. I was irritated with that but had zero energy to argue if after unloading/​moving an entire house all day long!
Will give it another try next time day care is needed. Was expecting more customer service and consistency. As long as my fur babies are happy (& tired) then this momma is happy …

I figured I would leave them an updated review since no one has.
So far I have had a positive experience with them. This is my second doggy day care I’ve tried in town and this one is by far better. So, I was surprised their ratings were so low.
Positives: clean, ventilated, furniture — I have small dogs that enjoy this. They require a temperament test which is nice because you can test them out and see how your dogs do before hand.
My dogs have an over night stay coming up and I feel comfortable leaving them here.

This was the first doggie daycare I tried out in town. I work early in the am and liked the idea that they were open at 7am. They are a good higher end doggie daycare facility (more agility equipment, doggie daycare cams, staff regularly playing with your pets, etc). They are completely indoors which is great for Kansas winters.
I stopped going here for three reasons
#1 The hours 7am –6pm is good for normal people, but my days are longer than this
#2 The price $ 18 for a full day/​$ 15 for a half day (less than 4 hours)
#3 The fact that you have to make a reservation for daycare
This is especially annoying when I sometimes base my daycare decisions based on whether my dog is moping around the house before I leave (working on separation anxiety).
It works, but there are others in town that my dog likes that are almost half the price.
