The food was much better quality than I expected– fresh, varied and good quality.
It arrived outside my door on time every morning.
I tried the 3 day plan and was shocked to see I lost 2 lbs!
That said, I couldn’t even eat my food the third day because I was just so tired of the monotony.
I generally eat healthy but love flavor and most days eat Thai, Middle-​Eastern, Asian etc. I love robust flavors.
LeanChefs food was really lacking in flavor unfortunately. It is rather dissapointing in that sense– adding some stir fried onions and peppers to the bland chicken/​fish would make a big difference.
I wish I could have stayed with the program as the convenience and weight loss benefit would be great but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it after 2 days!!!

I do think for the most part customer service is very good.
However…
Being a vegetarian, I am receiving alternate meals for the most part and I’m finding the quality inconsistent. Sometimes it’s absolutely delicious. And other times inedible.
The food quality issues, however, become secondary to the fact that they are consistently making packing errors. In three weeks I received meat three times. One day they forgot to deliver completely. Left out snacks at least four times.
Each time I called I received a credit and apology.
After the ninth mistake (in 21 days) I wrote a letter explaining that these number of mistakes on a weight management plan are putting me at risk, goal-​wise. I am forced to substitute items of my own choosing, which I’m sure you can guess are not always in my own best interest. In addition, if they leave out bread, I can’t buy one slice, I have to buy a loaf; can’t buy one egg, have to buy a dozen, etc. What do you do with the extra food?
Comes down to additional risk and additional expense.
I finally cancelled and I’m waiting to work out a refund plan with management which seems to consist of one person. He has been AWOL for the past two days.
He has been very reasonable in the past and I’m hoping that I can upgrade this review if we are able to come to an agreement.
I think the concept of this company is brilliant and again, sometimes the food is delicious. Once the kinks are worked out I would be happy to try it again.

They make 3 standard meals a day and if it’s something you don’t like you get the substitute meal which is generally terrible, so it’s not custom at all. Food quality seemed a bit below average. 50% of the time there are no microwave instructions or they are completely wrong. Food taste, let’s just say you won’t be craving it. Make sure you don’t give in to their sales tactics of selling you a full month before you try it, I bet the retention rate isn’t great.

I am rating Lean Chefs a 1 for many reasons but let me explain because this is a very warranted rating. When i first signed up with Lean Chefs the staff and food was good. I was excited to get my food and see what the next day brings for me and i always loved the desserts. However after the first month it went down hill and fast! I don’t know if they switched managers or owners or what but something changed. I started getting repeat meals within the same week, literally started getting oatmeal 3 times a week and on the other days it was a muffin. I started getting a cookie or a donut ONLY for dessert, literally alternating days between just those 2 desserts. I called to discuss and the customer service is HORRIBLE!!! when my driver didn’t show up with my food (happened SEVERAL times) i had to fight with them to refund me for the day. i can go on and on with complaints from the company but i wont because im glad i am done with them and i dont want to spend another minute of my life talking about them, i wanted to warn other people of this. There are plenty of companies out there that offer the same program and are using real organic never frozen food unlike lean chefs for half the price. do yourself a favor and DO NOT SIGN UP WITH LEAN CHEFS!!!

My best friends wedding is 2 weeks away, I started a 31 day program on 8÷3÷15 and have a couple of days left.
I’ve lost 18 pounds as of Friday!
Now I have 2 weeks to find a new dress as the one I bought is no longer VALID! :)
I feel great! not just because I look great, I truly feel better! I don’t power nap on the train on my way to work anymore and my energy throughout the day is fantastic!
I’m also very surprised about the amount of money I’ve saved.
The food is really, really good!
I’ve tried things I wouldn’t normally try and now I have new favorite foods!!!
I’m very happy and don’t want it to end!

I wish I found this company sooner! Everyone here has been helpful and friendly.
So I was finding it impossible to go grocery shopping AND cook with my busy schedule and was getting to a point where I was nervous about my health because I kept eating late and was not really left with too many options at the end of the day to order food from, needless to say Bad options. … but I think i found my answer for sure and recommend trying them to anyone that is looking for an easier way and needs to lose weight or just eat right.
I been on the Lean Chefs program 3 weeks now and couldn’t be more happy, I am losing weight and have more time now to focus on other things. My account rep is amazing and made sure she new which food I didn’t like so the program started out perfect with no waste. I appreciate a company that goes the extra mile. The deliveries arrive early in the morning before I jet out to work, so yes it’s super convenient… I love the food and get different menus each day so I’m not board at all!
I hope they read this and bring back the Turkey Salad soon, I posted a photo, it was amazing… It was the best I’ve had by far! So hard to cook with turkey and not get odd taste.
The peace of mind I have knowing that I’m eating healthy throughout the day is Priceless! Thank you Lean Chefs! You are changing my life for the better and I couldn’t ask for more. Recommend! Recommend! Recommend!

I’m a health conscious (but really busy) store owner and was looking for a meal delivery program not to lose weight but because my time to grocery shop, cook and pack my meals is inconsistent and limited. I’ve tried a few other services before I heard of Lean Chefs and I was always left hungry and unhappy with the food. I’ve been on Lean Chefs a month now and I am honestly happy with the variety, the portions and the quality. Although I am a very thin petite woman, I have been on the man’s program to maintain my weight rather than to lose. The program I have has three meals and two snacks and it really satisfies me. I literally never have to grocery shop because a whole day and night is packed into the bag — even the utensils and napkins. I wake up, get my packed cooler in the morning and I take the whole thing with me to work and I don’t have to worry about what I am going to eat, how and when I am going to cook it and how long it will last me before cooking again. The food itself is really good and it’s healthy, concentrating on protein and vegetables rather than starches and carbs — my blood sugar is more stable and I have less energy dips in the afternoon because I am eating more consistently. I know it sounds like it but I have no affiliation with them, I am just a happy customer. :)

This is a most awesome service. I lost 10 pounds and enjoyed my meals. Never hungry. LeanChefs accommodates every need I have. Love my Tullah. She is there all the time, every time.

I have been on lean chefs for three weeks, The food is usually very good but tonight I had pepper steak, it had to be thrown in the garbage. nYou could not cut it or chew it it was like rubber and stringy. One of the worse meals. There is no way you can lose 1pounds in a month. I have not cheated and so far I lost maybe 5 pounds. Don’t know if I will continue after the month is up. Arlened. I give it 3 stars.

This is my second time using Lean Chef and I highly recommend them. Food is good, delivery is reliable, and I always lose weight.

I can’t believe the majority of these reviews are actually from real customers. Despite the fancy names of the entrees, the food is bland with mostly very small portions. I actually had about a tablespoon of white basamati rice with my meal tonight and what was supposed to be roasted vegtables tasted like boiled, flavorless and mushy squash, zucchini and eggplant. They called a snack «crudite» which consisted of a half of a baby carrot and a ¼ of a celery stalk. The pork loin cutlet was dry and unseasoned with a tablespoon of «orange glaze» to pour on top which seemed like nothing more than oj with a thickening agent! Go with the major national competitor in the tri state area. Their food is tasty, satisfying and less expensive, especially when they have a special offer. I regret leaving them to try Lean Chefs but I am going back asap!

Have been a client for only a week… the food is amazing. Definitely more than enough to satisfy. Presentation and instructions super clear. Have lost 5 pounds… and with Christmas Eve and Christmas within that week… couldn’t be more thrilled!!!

I have tried many food delivery diet programs, and this one is by far the best. The food is delicious and filling. They make sure there is protein every meal to keep you satisfied. I love having the food delivered daily. i enjoy opening my little bag every morning to see what I am going to be eating. I must admit the highlight of my day is the dessert at the end of the day. It makes me happy and I don’t feel deprived. The customer service has been excellent although I have only had a couple of issues in the past two months. I get the food delivered Mon-​Fri. I tend to eat a little more on the weekends and yet I still continue to lose weight. I work full time and I am pursing a PhD so I used to rely on take-​out and delivery out of convenience. This is more convenient and I am saving money! I highly recommend this program!

Wow. Just wow. Day one and I have to compliment Lean Chefs.
Let’s start by saying that there was a mistake my first day. They dealt with it promptly, issued a meal credit, and were very polite about it. Wow.
Now, that might seem like common sense customer service, but I sure didn’t expect it. I did 72 days with a competitive service and they messed things up constantly and were generally RUDE about fixing the issue, sometimes blaming ME. Some days, they did not deliver my food and somehow that was MY fault? (My sister and I share a home and she suspended her service due to work travel, but I did not. I was left to fend for myself. You can’t imagine the disappointment when that bag is not there in the morning).
The food is about $ 10 less per day than the competitor and there is SOOO much more food. I can’t say yet, but I suspect I will get less (or no) lobster and fish with Lean Chefs, but the value is really good. This morning, I had an omelette, half a grapefruit, a and a small muffin. The the competitor, I got a ¼ of a waffle with yogurt or a 1 ½×1 ½ cube of oatmeal. There was generally a ¼ of a slice of turkey bacon. I learned to adapt, but wow. That must have been 600 calories. Lean Chefs does an amazing job providing a decent amount of food for 1200 calories.
I will continue to monitor the service and update if needed but I have to say that Day 1 gets an A+ from me. Great job. Great value. Great service!

I’ve been on my fair share of diets and lost plenty of weight in the past. The thing that they all share is that they suck to be on from being hungry to tasting bland, not having any energy or just taking too much damn work to prepare every meal. In comes lean chefs. For the price you already spend on seamless and a few nights out making you fatter, you can have chef prepared food which makes you skinnier.
last night i had cheesecake and Im 12 lbs lighter than last month? win-​win.

The food is really satisfying and the portions are enough.
During my 2^nd week, I felt increased energy and clarity. I’m no longer getting mid afternoon energy level dips.
The delivery has been reliable. Lean Chefs makes accommodations if you do like particular foods.
I’ve just renewed for a 2^nd month because of the success I’ve had.

I joined Lean Chefs a few weeks ago. I am beyond happy. The food is creatively prepared, fresh and above all tasty. It’s hard to believe that all this goodness has such few calories. The manicotti were to die for and I’m Italian and very fussy about food. In fact, the menus are so diverse that I really get excited about opening up my package to see what I’ll be eating. Being on a diet is not easy, but LeanChefs has taken all the work out of it !

I am finishing the first month of the Lean Chefs program, and I am beyond happy. The food is great, the variety is excellent and I don’t feel hungry during the day. I have been eating only eat the food delivered by Lean Chefs, and I lost 9 pounds in 25 days.
I am diabetic, and I was having a hard time loosing weight. This is the first time that I am being successful on a diet, and my blood sugar is under control. I don’t feel deprived of anything. I really recommend this service.
It is fun to check for the food every day. Every morning I get surprised with the food selection.
I think Lean Chefs is a great value. I am loosing weight effortlessly and enjoying every meal, without the stress of planning, going to the grocery store and cooking. I already renewed for another month.

This is so far the best dieting plan I have ever had and keeping my weight down tremendously for the past 10 years. I have tried weight loss pills, aerobic classes, yoga, other dietary food counting calories in the past 10 years. All of them only kept my weight down for only few pounds and I ending up getting them all back. After I heard leanchefs on the radio while I was driving to work I wanted to give them a try just like all the other stuff that I did, I am so glad that I pick up the phone and placed my first 1 week order.
The program is very simple. First you call them and pick the length of the days that you want to stay on their plan, they can charger your credit card and your program will be started in one day. Every day I wake up, open the door, there is a bag of meals which include breakfast, lunch, a snack after lunch, dinner, and dessert after dinner. I do not get to pick my food which is okay I felt like I’m getting surprise every day that can satisfy my craving and the varieties that they have on the three main meals really make me feel like I’m going out to eat everyday and sometimes it make me feel like I hired a Chef in my house and cook for me every day.
Here is my conclusion on how this program can help ME to lose weight. It corrected my eating time, habit, and amount. With all the balanced nutrients and also very delicious, I do not feel HUNGRY after each meal. In the very beginning especially when I go sleep each night I was dreaming searching for food. And every morning when I wake up to go weight myself it’s always about half pound to 1 pounds less. This program so far taught me how much to eat and control the portion in each serving.
Lose weight is like a journey in your life, you really have to try it out to know which one fits you the most .So far I found mine good luck to you all!

I strongly suspect the above review is not real. Not only does it read like an infomercial, but I can most definitely say that this service is not all that. I signed up for 2 weeks to try it out and did not renew. Nor, may I add, did I loose any weight.
While everyone has different tastes, I found the food «ok» at best. The meals come in a freezer bag early in the morning, and are individually packaged and labeled with each meal. There is barely enough to feed one person, and definitely not enough to share, even with a child. As this is a weight loss program, that’s ok.
The quality of the food was decent, though it varied in consistency. I found there was an uninspired approach to seasonings, and a fairly traditional scope of menu ideas. My taste buds were crying, and it was hard to stay on the plan because I so yearned for something that tasted good. The one thing I will say is that the desserts were the best part. And not because they were desserts, but because they were actually well done.
If you have no dietary restrictions then you may fare better, as they are heavy on meats. I don’t eat red meat or pork, so ended up with meal substitutes which were plain lazy. The lowest point was a handful of deli turkey over raw spinach to substitute for a fancy lamb dish the rest of the customers were getting. Would it have been too much to ask for dressing?
Summary: Good price, reliable delivery, mediocre food, inability to satisfactorily accommodate dietary preferences. Would not recommend.
