A Columbia education and a strong knowledge of the New York scene is an excellent combination for helping non new Yorkers like us. Less than a year after entering the Manhattan real estate market, Jeff Schleider was named the top broker at one of the city’s highest grossing rental firms. Within a year and a half, he was training new hires, within two years, he was named Associate Broker for sales at Corcoran’s Chelsea/​Flatiron office, and within three and a half years he founded his own brokerage, Miron Properties.

Trying to move on your own terms in NYC is nearly impossible, but I was stubborn enough to try it anyway by combing through online listings. On my idiotic nyc studio hunt, one of the open houses I went to was being shown by Lauren at Miron. She was helpful, accessible, responsive, accurate, honest, straightforward and flexible. Real estate brokers are almost never any of those things, but Lauren was all those things.
I ended up staying within my building management, but Lauren was so helpful to the point that I’m taking time to write a review here. Even when I ended up not needing a broker, she was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable to consider working together in the future.

I reached out to Jacqueline when I decided that it was time to move out of my studio apartment that I had lived in for 7 years. The goal was to find the «perfect» 1-​bedroom apartment for myself and my growing business.
I provided her with a pretty lengthy description of the type of place I was looking for and she set up appointments for viewings right away. The first place we saw ended up being the one and it just proved to me how much she had listened to all of my preferences and requests.
Honestly, I was totally dreading the process because I anticipated it being stressful and overwhelming but Jacqueline made it so extremely pleasant and easy. She took the reigns and made it all happen.
I highly recommend Jacqueline to anyone who is looking for the «perfect» place — she certainly helped me find mine.

I worked with Amuche Chukudebelu to rent my apartment. Let me say that he greatly exceeded my expectation on every level. I live out of state, so he completely managed the deal on my behalf. He identified the price point for the apartment which was dead on. He recommended the upgrades and repairs that were most relevant to tenants. He even took care of small details like having keys made. Even in the slowest rent month of the year, he was able to rent my apartment in 3 days! He was very thorough, knowledgeable and professional and he did a great job of communicating with me every step of the way. I was so worried about my upcoming move. In the past I have had such bad experiences with brokers who show you a few places that aren’t even in your price range and just want to get your money. I recently rented from a salesperson at Miron and I couldn’t be happier. Jacqueline Wolter was an angel! She answered my call at 8pm and actually still had the unit I was calling about available. She fit me in the next day and although the apartment I originally contacted her on was not a good fit she had lined up 4 other places and I FOUND MY NEW HOME. I couldn’t be happier Jacqueline was professional and knowledgeable and got me approved and moved in in no time. THANK YOU — If I ever move I know who I am calling again.

I was very pleased with the overall service I received when searching for an apartment here in NYC. Right from the start, Jacqueline Wolter was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure I got the place that I could call home. Although I found the apartment through a phone app, Jackie made me feel as though she was representing me throughout the whole process. She did an excellent job of communicating with me and the landlord and negotiated the best and fair deal for both parties.
I highly recommend Miron Properties and particularly, Jacqueline Wolter to find (or sell) a home for you.

Robert Ballard was everything I was looking for in a broker. He was the solution after grueling months of working with brokers who could not help themselves but to show me exactly what I’d asked not to see. I told him what I wanted, and he showed me a plethora of unreal options. I signed a lease and was very pleased, no way I would have found that spot on my own. To be honest, I can’t speak for Miron Properties as a brokerage, or any of their other brokers, so if you are looking for a great broker, call Miron and ask for Robert. He even helped me negotiate with the management and I now consider him a friend in the city.

I relocated to NYC for a new job and only had time to fly in for 1 day into NYC to look at apartments. Robert Ballard found several apartments all within my requirements and showed us a good range of the apartments in the neighborhoods we wanted. All it took was the one day to find a place and Robert was more than helpful getting the paperwork and deal all signed — which was a big ask for someone not present in NYC to sign.
Overall it was a solid experience to find a place in 1 day with little hassle! Thanks!

after leaving NYC for chicago 2 years ago, My wife and I knew we missed NYC way to much to stay away. When i was relocated for my job back to NYC my wife and i were so excited. I was only going to get one weekend to fly to NYC and find an apartment though which did not make us excited as we know how hard it is to find and get through all the red tape with lease signing. After researching many apartments online and reaching out to brokers, we stumbled upon Miron Properties, but more important Olena Sarzina. She was amazing. She was so responsive and more than helpful. We communicated all via e-​mail while i was in chicago. I told her what we were looking for and she did all the work finding the listings and sending them to me to decide if we wanted to view them in the short time we were in NYC. She found exactly what we were looking for. each place we saw was perfect. Olena was the bright spot in our move back to NYC and I, and my wife, cannot wait until we have to move again just so we can work with Olena again!!!

Unfortunately I’ve been trying to find a place through Miron for several months now. I’ve left emails and voicemails about listings I was interested without a once having a constructive email back (the only emails I’ve received are brief emails asking me to explain what I wanted — why I should explain repeatedly idk, but I did and still no response). I’m fed up now following up with them over and over again without a response. Whole experience feels rude.

After working with tons of brokers through out the city, I was lucky enough to find Chris Cush at Miron. He is seriously one of the most knowledgeable and laid back brokers I’ve had the pleasure of renting with. The pros and cons about working with Chris are as follows
Pros
–Super knowledgeable about the East Village and basically all of downtown
–Has access to many off market properties
–Knows almost all the landlords in the are making viewing seamless
–Very friendly, not pushy at all
–Made our move in process very easy
–Worked with us on negotiating with the landlord about up front cost
–Checked in with us after the move
Cons
–Still waiting for him to teach me how to play guitar! haha

I have never felt so misled, bullied and disrespected while doing business with any self respecting agent before.
We lost $ 500 in application fees because they weren’t honest with us about how much they intended on charging us even after we were very clear about our inability to pay more than one month’s rent.
Stay away from Mariola Lezcano Diez who misinformed us (my roommate and I) about our brokers fee and then proceeded to forge my signature on a document I never signed (claiming I had agreed on a 15% brokers fee) and the leasing director Luis who proceeded to pompously proclaim that their «lawyers are bored» with the lack of work they’re given so they would be more than happy to fight back if we tried to take legal action against them for their dishonest and unethical practices. To make matters worse, Luis thought it pertinent to sprinkle on some boast about being the son of some Chilean diplomat or something to try and scare us into thinking we «wouldn’t stand a chance» against them.
Brokers like these make me wish that I could just live in a shoebox just so that I could avoid using middleman to try and find places in this city that are even half way decent.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from these greedy people who clearly care more for money than they do about being transparent and building proper business relationships with their clients.

This guy is the man. I was moving from Boston. Heard nothing but horror stories for finding apartments and brokers. However I decided to hit up one of the Miron Brokers, that being Todd. First off he responded to me like within 10 minutes. We then had a quick phone call where he basically gave me the lay of the land and what to expect for my price range. We setup a time to look at places when I got into the city. We looked at a handful of places. Todd was very honest and not pushy at all. Honestly he didn’t make me feel like I needed to act on something or I’m screwed. He ended up finding me a place with my own backyard under my price range. High five Todd.
Miron I hope you’re taking care of this guy you don’t want to lose him!

Jonathan Kestenbaum at Miron Properties is a superstar. I was so lucky to meet him when I moved to New York. He helped me painlessly buy a co-​op in this awesome city.
I have a Master’s degree in real estate and I’ve purchased two other homes in different parts of the country. But when I moved to New York, I quickly realized this market is much faster and more competitive — not to mention the high prices! When I met Jon, he spent time telling me the basics of New York real estate. He helped me narrow my choice of neighborhoods and type of buildings I wanted. Jon helped me contact a great attorney and bank — both with excellent service, low rates and reasonable expenses. So, I was able to qualify for my loan and be ready to jump in a deal when I found one. I was patient but kept looking. Jon kept feeding me potential apartments and within 6 weeks, I found an amazing place in the Upper East Side. It was less than market value and, with the confidence Jon gave me, I jumped on it. Within 2 months, I bought my first apartment in New York City.
I still can’t believe I own something in the world’s greatest city. Thanks so much, Jon. I might have figured it out on my own but you saved me time and actually saved me money.

Sara Egglefield of Miron Properties acted as my broker during my apartment search. I needed to move from Baltimore to Manhattan after landing a software engineering position. I had limited time to find a place and I was caught off guard by how quickly NYC apartments are leased after appearing on the market. Thankfully, I found Sara.
Unlike the other brokers I initially contacted, Sara was incredibly responsive and friendly. She took the time to speak with me about the neighborhood I wanted to live in, my price range, the size and amenities I desired for my apartment, and my timeframe for moving in.
Sara spent two days with me walking all over the Upper East Side until she found me an apartment I was completely happy with — and one that was well within my price range.
I could not be more pleased with my experience with Sara and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to move to NYC!

To anyone venturing into the market for Manhattan real estate, I’d recommend Katya Rybka with the greatest enthusiasm. Before we’d even met in person, she’d figured out exactly what I wanted and had come up with a shortlist of apartments that fit precisely those criteria. Within an hour we’d found my dream apartment: a beautiful West Village studio with exposed brick, lots of natural light, a substantially sized kitchen and bathroom, a large outdoor space — and a washer and dryer in-​unit!
Katya managed all of the ensuing logistics professionally and graciously, even when that meant staying late and hopping across town to make the lease signing as easy for me as possible.
She has remained readily accessible and helpful even now that I’ve moved in.

This review is for Todd Merwan, who went above and beyond to make sure my experience renting of an apartment went as smoothly as possible. I’d give him 10 stars, if possible.
I moved from San Diego to New York, and as I was starting my search, Todd was the most responsive person who I talked to, and explained how the process would work. He went around to tons of apartments for me, took videos for me, and advised me honestly. Obviously not being able to see the apartment in person requires a big leap of faith, but there’s no one else I would’ve rather put faith in but Todd. He definitely rewarded my trust in him 10 fold, though.
When I arrived in the city to sign the lease, the landlord was unable to meet with me as he promised (not Todd’s fault), and had to reschedule the lease signing for the next day. Instead of having me sleep in a hotel, what did Todd do? He let me and my 60lb Labrador stay at his apartment for the night! I honestly don’t know if any other agent in the city would be willing to do that.
Since i’ve moved into my apartment, Todd has checked in with me regularly to see how everything is going and to see if I needed anything. It shows that his priority is to create a relationship with his clients, not just to rent them one apartment and disappear once he gets paid. In a city with so many
agents out there, Todd’s dedication, expertise, honesty, and his belief in constant communication genuinely sets him apart from every other agent working in the city. Todd would do anything for his clients, and it definitely shows.

My husband and I moved to New York City and contacted several brokers as we began our apartment hunt. Yonathan (Jonathan) was hands down the most responsive, helpful, realistic, and FRIENDLY amongst many brokers.
Yonathon went above and beyond, showing us numerous properties on our very tight schedule. He kept our budget firmly in mind and did not attempt to push us out of it. We felt he showed us all properties that were worth our time, and met the «needs» and «wants» we had. Jonathan was extremely helpful in finding features that truly mattered to us.
We ended up in an apartment that was in our price range, in our desired neighborhood, and are loving every second of our time in our new home! Once we were decided, Yonathon additionally provided us with an excellent list of his favorite spots to eat in our neighborhood. (We’ve tried them all, and as foodies, I can say he did not steer us wrong there either!)
Jonathan is a broker who doesn’t just know real estate but knows really gets to know his clients AND knows the city as a whole. He is professional, punctual, respectful, and I can guarantee he will help you find the perfect spot to call your own in this city!
