History

Established in 2015.

MixyPaws is devoted to giving our customers a full service customer experience. Our walkers are hand selected by Kate and Ethan and must pass our training course for new walkers. MixyPaws recruits only walkers with a lifelong love and respect for animals, along with a track record of high performance. MixyPaws performs background checks on every walker to guarantee a safe and trustworthy experience for our clients. MixyPaws strives to go above and beyond by providing more than just a chance for your pup to go outside to stretch their legs. We enable our dogs to have fun while developing a strong bond not only with their walker, but also with the mix of pups they’re paired with. By personally selecting and training every dog walker we bring on board, we are able to provide our pups with the personal care and love they desire between the time you leave, and the most important and mixiest moment in their day — the moment you get home.

We’ve used a couple of dog walking services on the UWS and MixyPaws has been our favorite. Our puggle came from the shelter and thus came with some trust issues and special needs. All of the walkers at MixyPaws are very respectful of his quirks, and he’s quickly grown to love them all (Brian, Jon and Nicole).
They’re super accommodating if we need to add an extra walk last minute, which we’ve done on several occasions. Also, when one of his walkers had to leave the company, they had his new walker shadow her for several weeks, ensuring all the dogs were comfortable with the change. I was really impressed by this. They take their training seriously,
Long story short, our pup is happy and thus so so are we!

While I am a fairly new dog owner, I searched extensively for the best doggie care I could find. My search criteria included punctuality (show up at the time we agreed), following-​up on commitments (if you promised you would send me a picture every day, then I expect to see that), and demonstrable love for my dog (how a person handles a dog on their first meet says a lot, and for me it was an actual deal breaker several times).
MixyPaws checked all the conditions I had. In fact, they surpassed my expectations in every way possible. When I asked for a reference, they sent me 4. When I asked my dog walker to put on a coat on my dog because it’s cold out, she put on two (because one was not warm enough!). Together with the founders, Kate and Ethan, the entire group of MixyPaws walkers and pet-​sitters consistently offered me, and my doggie, their best services over the last few months. Their continuous dedicated attention to my (sometimes absurd) needs and wants comforts me to no end! They are professional, prepared and always ready to love and bring a new doggie into the mix!
At MixyPaws, they get it! I wholeheartedly trust them and strongly recommend them! You will not find better care for your pups!

Very pleased with Mixy Paws! It took us a while to find a dog walking service we trust. I mean we are giving someone keys to our apartment and the care of our dog who is a member of our family. It is a relationship that needs to be secure, professional and reliable. The mixy paws team has been great. We always get an update when Cooper has been walked, the events of the walk and often a picture! Even on days with the worst weather, we always come home to a clean pooch, meaning the dog walker took the time to wipe his paws off and make sure there are no wet spots on the floor, that takes more time than just a simple walk. Also the rates are quite reasonable for NYC and many other companies charge more, which is a bonus as daily walks add up.

We used MixyPaws to train our new puppy and teach him how to walk. Kate, Ethan and the team are absolutely incredible! Our dog walker Melissa is wonderful and thanks to her our pup is walking like a champ! Everyday she leaves us handwritten notes with an update on his progress and I couldn’t be happier with our experience or ask for a better service!

Great service. Very personable and down-​to-​earth business. I moved to the UWS without a dog walking plan in place, and they were flexible enough to meet me on a Sunday night in order to accommodate my urgency. Also, the walk journal was awesome. I really appreciated that they took the time to sum up each day’s walk in detail, rather than vague one-​word descriptions that most walk companies use. Most importantly, they are trustworthy. I’d recommend MP to anybody that cares about their dog.

Kate and Ethan are unbelievable. They accommodated my every want and need. They really know what it is to go above and beyond. I work a full-​time job and was scared of getting a dog for this reason but now I feel so comfortable knowing that Milo is in good hands. Kate even took the time to go to the pet store and get Milo a new puppy Kong, the filling for it, and the de-​odorizer for his accidents. Alex — the dog walker — is AMAZING! She’s such a dog lover and LOVES Milo so much. Having an Italian Greyhound in the city can be difficult and MixyPaws makes it WONDERFUL! I can not say better things about MixyPaws — they’re so trustworthy and I know at the end of the day Milo is also getting good training!

MixyPaws is simply amazing.
Kate and her team have not only been consistent, reliable and wonderful dog walkers, but indispensible dog advisors and friends (we are new to the dog world and could not have made it with a new puppy without them!). They are a one stop shop for everything you need to know about being a (new or experienced) dog family and truly care about giving you the best service possible. I can not say enough about how great they are. I would recommend them to anyone! Particularly great if you are new to the dog world… they are incredibly knowledgeable about everything and bend over backwards to make thing easy for you. And they are wonderful and friendly & hyper responsive too!

Great group of people. Kate, Ethan and their team all clearly love dogs, love being around them and are very responsive to any questions you might have. Our dog is relatively new to the city life and they’ve really helped him adjust without any issues. Beware the walkers out there who take a half dozen dogs at the same time giving none of them any real attention. Kate and Ethan seem to be very careful to pair dogs with the right partner based on the breed, not convenience, and the private walks are great. Ray walks our Lab every day takes the time to give him a lot of attention, before, during and after his walk. Highly recommend.

Kate and Ethan have absolutely been amazing to work with. They have been very attentive to my needs and were flexible to my fluctuating schedule. I love that they give me consistent and detailed invoice updates, and especially the notes they leave at every visit.

I can’t say enough about these guys and the professionalism and quality care they bring to their work. Not only does my dog love her walker (s), but they’ve been there for me in a pinch every time. Kate and Ethan are the best! I have a bully and not so friendly little guy and they absolutely love mixypaws. Why? Tons of attention. They keep mom and dad informed at all times and lastly they care. Ethan was absolutely fabulous with my very timid and could-​be aggressive chihuahua, Leo. He worked with us to train my dog to trust him and corrected his problem behavior through daily walks and training. He also helped me set up my home to better suit Leo’s behavioral needs. Setting up boundaries. When he was comfortable that Leo was comfortable he handed him off to Joi the daily walker. Joi took great care of Leo and left me notes everyday. Both Ethan and Joi were in constant contact with me and responded very quickly when I contacted them. I would highly recommend MixyPaws to anyone needing a walker or a sitter.

Kate has been waking my dog and pet sitting in my home for over five years. Kate takes care of Janey almost better than I do and loves her just as much. I travel A LOT and Kate has been critical to making me feel comfortable about being gone so much. I know that Janey’s routine isn’t disrupted and she has lots of love while I am away. What other dog walker gets down on the floor and cuddles with your dog?! MixPaws are the best! Kate and Ethan came to meet us and our puppy Oliver before we started using their services so that we could all become acquainted and talk about what they do with the puppies during the walks. Since my puppy is really young (he was about 3 months when we started) Kate thought it would be best for her to come twice a day to give Oliver some TLC and take him for walks. Not only did she do that but also worked a lot on training him to walk properly on a leash and socialize with other dogs. They are very accommodating with our schedule and even were able to add a day when we were in a bind and needed someone to watch Oliver. I think we found someone to love Oliver as much as we do :)

I’m so thankful to a friend for referring me to MixyPaws. It was clear upon my initial meetings with Kate and Ethan that the wellbeing of my crazy pup was key. Ethan is very patient with the sassy temperament of cocomo; my monster of a dog is quite selective when it comes to who she warms up to but from the video and photo updates i receive from Ethan it’s clear they’re becoming best buds! Cocomo is happily exhausted when i get home — I highly recommend MixyPaws!

We’ve (my bf and I) used MixyPaws for our dog for the past two months and they’ve been wonderful. Kate and Ethan responded quickly when we inquired about their service, came to our apartment for a consultation with us and our pup before we started and made us feel very comfortable with the whole process.
