Mona Sharaf is an established Personal Shopper/​Image Consultant. The shopping tours are an extension of her private consulting service. She will help you discover what silhouettes work best for you and your body type and help you discover your own personal style.

I am a New York City based, personal shopper and image consultant for both men and women. My mission is to help my clients create the image they are looking to portray all while making them feel more beautiful, confident and educated on how to shop.

I studied image consulting at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I have worked for very reputable clothing designers such as Norma Kamali, where I worked as a personal shopper developing wardrobes for my client base all around the country.

I’m committed to working very closely with my clients to develop their personal style. I listen carefully to their needs, goals and lifestyles and I incorporate current and diverse pieces into a wardrobe that already exists.

My many years in the retail industry has allowed me to develop a strong knowledge of the city’s retail shops. I know some of the best kept secrets of places to shop for any occassion. I also have special relationships with my retailers ensuring my client always pays the best

I hired Mona for a shopping day and could not be happier. I’ve struggled with shopping frustration my entire life. I’m petite and a hard fit. I got on a call with Mona and she automatically put me at ease. She totally understood how difficult it was for me to find pieces that fit me right. She was patient, bright and seemed to really know what she was talking about. I walked into a fitting room of pre-​selected items for me and was so surprised at how much she found for me. She found pieces I would have never picked out for myself but really loved. She also informed me of what to wear the pieces with, where to wear them to and what they would go with in my existing wardrobe. It was also really fun! She distracts you from the awkwardness of trying on clothes and tells jokes! I think its really important to hire a trained Image Consultant and not just a personal shopper or stylist. They are trained to know everything about dressing different body types, best colors and how to best project the right image. I’m so glad I hired her and my husband is too. He can’t stop raving about my new wardrobe. :)

I utilized Mona’s closet reorganization and shopping day services during the fall/​winter. She is very talented at selecting clothing that match the image you want to project/​convey. She’s not just someone who’s looking to scrap your entire wardrobe and redo it, costing you a lot of money. She works with your budget and when she shops for new items for you, she looks for ways they can be incorporated into your current wardrobe. In addition, she has a wealth of connections in the fashion industry and referred me to a great place where I’ve purchased two custom-​made suits and shirts with her consultation. Since taking Mona’s advice and wearing the clothes she picked out for me, I get compliments on my appearance frequently from family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers!
Overall, Mona is very personable, professional, honest, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her and have already set a reminder on my calendar to utilize her services again for the spring/​summer seasons!

I hired Mona for her closet organization services as well as for personal shopping. Working with her is something that I think every woman should experience. Mona is super professional, honest, straightforward and easy to work with. She has an amazing eye and provided me with styling advice that is priceless. She also totally revamped my closet – discarding items that I should have dumped long ago and teaching me new ways to incorporate strong but underutilized pieces in my wardrobe.
Since I’ve worked with Mona I’ve gotten so many compliments on my outfits and my «look.» Style is a very personal thing, yet I never felt that Mona was trying to change me. Instead, the skills she taught me have helped me enhance my personal style and pick items that aren’t just «nice» but also flatter my body type, skin tone and serve a purpose in my overall wardrobe. I have a pretty decent sense of style, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone so I decided to hire Mona to give me a new perspective on my wardrobe. She came in and figured out the perfect colors for me (some of which I I would have never thought of wearing). Mona gave me ideas for putting together pieces I already had in my closet in a way I would not have imagined, and also suggested what I needed in my wardrobe to make it complete. She also helped me figure out what to wear to accentuate certain parts of my body and she even gave me tips on what types of earrings and accessory to wear. Mona is very passionate about her work and truly cares for her client’s individual needs. She is also very personable and fun. I felt like I was hanging out with one of my girlfriends as we were going through my closet and shopping who happens to have great taste and sense of style!

Having gotten engaged this year in March, I knew that I was going to need some dresses for my various wedding events I would be having in the coming year. Boggled by lots of work and just simply not having the time for shopping, I hired Mona to help me with finding the dresses and shoes I wanted to purchase.
The shopping experience with Mona was so smooth, luxurious and I felt like VIP! She really listened to the details of what I was looking for and found clothes that were super unique, but not too far from my personal style. Most importantly, she recognized what style of clothes I was comfortable with and picked dresses and shoes that flattered my body and skin tone. If you love to shop, you’ll love this tour. If you’re like me and you hate to shop, you’ll love this tour! It’s a one-​size-​fits-​all kind of tour if you’re into fashion, fun and making new friends. I enjoyed perusing the variety of intimate showrooms tucked away in areas of the Garment District that I didn’t know existed. It was a bonus to meet some of the designers, who discussed the inspiration behind their collections. And let’s not forget, there’s something super-​enticing about buying quality clothes at deep discounts; it turned my disdain for shopping into a love for it — at least for the duration of the three-​hour-​tour. Mona has a good eye for picking pieces that will work for your complexion and frame. Everyone in my tour group, myself included, left with smiles and shopping bags — hugging each other like old friends. That’s what shopping does to women — it binds them together. Go Mona!

NYC GARMENT DISTRICT SHOPPING TOUR
Mona took us to 6 showrooms which are not open to the general public featuring both U.S. and International collections with different price points. At each showroom the Designer or a representative told us about the collection and them and we were able to shop from samples with prices which were considerably less than WHOLESALE! She gives style information and is very personable and knowledgeable with regard to anything in the fashion industry. This is a tour for any-​one who is interested in «behind the scenes» in the garment industry and also those who are interested in saving a little money! She also gave us a sheet of current sample sales open to the public. Great tour. I highly recommend it!

I recently purchased Mona Sharaf’s image consultation package.
After a color analysis and body type assessment she taught me how to shop for my body type. We focused on the right colors, proportions, neckline, and balance. Mona is personable, warm, and funny! She loves her job and it shows! From getting down on the floor and showing me the correct hemline, to choosing the right accessories, and to helping me focus on the right colors to make my face glow, she gave me such great tips! I took the experience along with her mini color palate that she provides to her clients and went shopping with a new confidence. I was proud to show off my new threads with my friends later that evening. I was in clothes that fit my style, were sexy and sleek but comfortable, and highlighted my best features. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this experience.

Mona styled me for my website photo shoot, and she totally got me: She understood the vibe I was going for and helped me pick out clothing that was extremely flattering and that would pop on camera (while still looking like «me»!).
Mona helped me discover which colors and styles look best on me, and even taught me which accesories would be most flattering for my body type. I left our styling session feeling confident and radiant, and prepared for both the shoot and styling myself in general.
She also helped design two gorgeous dress-​shirts for my husband that make him look like a million bucks!
