Dr. Gulati is one of the best doctors in NY. I highly recommend for hormone treatments, weight loss, holistic medicine, etc. Very intelligent, compassionate, caring and attentive, which can be very hard to find in the NY area. I see a lot of mixed reviews on here. Personally, the type of medical therapy, medication, and supplements she provided me took time and patience for a successful end result. She eased me into the medicines so my body would get use to them and avoid negative side affects. I can truthfully say, I am no longer on any medicines and living a healthy lifestyle. Isn’t this your end goal? That is what I call a successful result!
In the past (before seeing Dr. Gulati), I have been on medicines that eventually lead to other medicines, and then more medicines. This is what I call a scam! Doctor visits for the rest of your life? Dr. Gulati finds the root of the problem to find successful ways to cure you so you are not spending all your free time at doctor offices.

I tried to call for an appointment and I was forwarded to a number that goes straight to voice mail. Left messages but no one called back. After a couple of more calls to Patients Medical, I discovered that the massage is from a DIFFERENT office and they just use the Patients Medical as a contact point. Little shady, misrepresentation perhaps?
I am giving one star for the Patients Medical receptionist who I overheard rudely remark when I was put on hold and for a difficult appointment process when it should really be easy no?

Hi, I don’t understand what all the bad reviews are– you do realize that most «supplements» and «vitamins» on the market that you buy for «½ price» are not what they say they are, don’t have the efficacy of some supplements, and in many cases, are no more than potato starch/​not what they say they are on the bottle so it is VERY important to know your source and what is actually in the bottle/​who is making it. Doubtful the supplements at Duane Read have what are in the proprietary blends that have DEFINITELY helped me bring down my cholesterol 27 points in less than three months. Dr. Gulati IS A LIFE SAVER. She is a WONDERFUL doctor, she may not be for everyone, but she literally has helped bring me back from the brink of serious health issues I had no idea I had and further more had been told by my endocrinologist who did nothing that I was «normal” — for almost 15 years. I had ***9%*** iron levels and my toe was approaching necrosis. This woman saved me from a case of severe anemia and thyroid issues and pre-​diabetes in three months. Hell yes it cost– because mainstream medical establishments think what she is doing is «quackery» when in fact the only «quackery» that was happening was listening to my do-​nothing endocrinologist before her and all I wound getting was more sick. The IV infusions I receive at PM definitely have helped me and given me energy back that I did not know I even had anymore. I feel 25 years younger and I owe it all to Patients Medical– I feel like a normal person again! I also have lost almost 25 pounds in 5 months due to their excellent care and I have hardly changed my lifestyle beyond taking the supplements and doing what they ask of me re: IV treatments and checkups. If the public, mainstream media and medial establishments (and government) actually researched what is going on here, they would realize that what they do at PM is the opposite of a scam. They saved my life, and I am eternally grateful. If you don’t want to pay out of pocket for GOOD QUALITY supplements instead of some drug store brand, then blame the government, not the price points that have to be charged/​paid for out of pocket to actually get the supplements that they say they are on the bottle/​the efficacy is what it is. The government would rather have you pay for an expensive and unnecessary pain killer or pill who’s benefits are negligible and often have tons of side effects because big Pharma is in bed with the government– that’s why your health insurance carrier doesn’t want you to do preventative care rather than palliative– the government is bought and owned by the Insurance/​Pharmceutical lobbies. If you really want to be CURED rather than have a doctor shove a prescription in your hand and have it be a palliative, then by all means, go to Patients Medical. I think the people who visited here and left negative reviews really don’t understand health and nutrition very well nor do they want to take the time and effort it takes to get well– I think they are much more comfortable with, rather than have a doctor work with them, having a doctor just shove a prescription in their hand and not really investigate/​get to the bottom of any underlying issues they know nothing about. Dr. Gulati really takes the time to investigate what is going on here, and that involves tests and time– tests and time that ARE NOT frivolous. In my case, the medical tests were life savers. I am completely baffled by someone complaining that a doctor’s appointment took two hours– it was not spent waiting in the waiting room! The average physician spends 7 minutes on a client. *7 minutes* — what do you think can be achieved in that amount of time to get to the heart of the problem? My experiences with Dr. Gulati is that she wants to really investigate underlying causes of things to actually get to the heart of the problem and really cares about the well being and health of her clients. These people are crazy for complaining that their health care practitioner cares about their well being! The government makes money when people are chained to pills/​prescriptions. It does not make money through nutrients and supplementation and healthy lifestyles. But I guess some people here just don’t want to spend the money necessary to actually get well and would rather just shove their health problems under the rug while they get sicker and sicker and more and more chained to medicine that they may not even need (and may be even making them even sicker over time). Thank you Dr. Gulati and thank you Patients Medical!

Recently cashed in a coupon for a massage. It was done on a table w/​clothes on, and a towel over as well. Therapist didn’t understand english, spent entire time being massaged and elbowed laying stomach down. my head and face were so worn out after it all. left feeling not relaxed, and not much more flexible.

VERY GOOD! My most recent was an «above-​and-​beyond» visit as I had just had BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) pellets implanted a week earlier and feared that they were coming out because the surgi-​strips had fallen off and the incision was bleeding. Dr. Harris saw me on an informal basis and inspected the incision. (All was well.) All the while, even though it was not an official visit, she continued to educate me about the pellets, etc. I was really pleased.
P. S. The pellets saved my life – no joke.
P. P. S. The only potentially negative thing I have to say is that there is no such thing as a «one-​hour» visit, so if you have strictly an hour for lunch, make the appointment for after work. :-)

Complete nightmare. I was over medicated with thyroid medication. Developed classic symptoms including tachycardia and sleeplessness while my doctor was in India (she is always in India). She refused to decrease my medication. Her solution was to split the dose in half and take it twice a day (morning & afternoon). My symptoms were not alleviated. Meanwhile my acupuncturist is telling me my thyroid is out of balance, my medication NEEDS to be lowered. Doctor still refuses to adjust my medication. She now informs me it is OK to skip the afternoon dose if I am feeling on the edge. I was up and down and all around with this advice. After seeing a cardiologist (nothing wrong with me), and no response to my continued requests for a medication adjustment, it was time to stop this insanity. I went to another doctor (gynecologist) who specializes in bioidentical hormone therapy. My new doctor ordered blood work. After reviewing the results she lowered my thyroid medication (T3). Within one week my husband noticed a difference and I felt relief. Ten months have passed with no medication adjustments needed. I feel and look healthy.
My new doctor got it right on my first visit to her office. Quite the opposite of my experience at Patients Medical, where I paid top dollar for poor quality, questionable healthcare.
Buyer Beware.

Only physically examined me on fIrst visit for $ 450.00. Second visit $ 200.00 was just a consultation and review of my records. Yes, spent a lot of time with me, but I received no real answers as yet. Office was very disorganized. Could not find assistants — they just leave when it is time for their break and don’t care if you are waiting or not. Still waiting to see if they come up with anything of value to help me soon, otherwise I may have to seek advice elsewhere.

Patients Medical has truly altered my life and are assisting me with the health challenges that I am currently faced with. It was through their deep level hormone tests that I learned that I was metabolizing estrogen very poorly which has been wreaking havoc in my body. With their help, I have been able to stabilize my condition. If I hadn’t come across Patients Medical… I am convinced that I would truly be in a disastrous place regarding my health right about now. I have learned so much through their guidance and care and I can’t say enough about their staff, (particularly their nurses who take care of me when I go in for my blood work and IV protocols). What an exemplary clinic and I recommend them without reservation. They have absolutely changed my life for the better and I thank my lucky stars for having discovered them.

I am shocked to see these reviews! I can not imagine what I would have done without Dr. Gulatti. She is an amazing Doctor and I have been seeing her for almost a year. I have never felt better! I trust her so much with everything she asks me to do. Very bazaar to see the negative opinions. She has totally balance my thyroid & hormones. Yes it is a costly and long process but she does things in increments so your body can handle the changes. The staff is very friendly and the medical center is calming. She always greets me with a friendly smile and truly enjoys seeing my progress. She has brought down my cholesterol level with her magical combination of elixers. I just do what she recommends and it works. She’s awesome!

Ridiculously expensive, unorganized and exploitive. Gulati is the worst but Kaswani was just as bad. She charged $ 500 to review my test results every 6 months. That’s bad enough but she spent most of the time in the «consult» trying to locate my file… not just once but EACH TIME I went in. Once she finally had the file in hand, she took her time looking it over and then spoke to me for all of about 5 minutes. Even the compounding pharmacy she uses referred to her as «disorganized».
I stopped going here a while ago…

Very BAD experience at Patients Medical. I went to see Dr. Gulati for menopause related issues. I paid $ 500.00 for my first visit with her and abt $ 1000 on blood tests, as well as a few hundred dollars on vitamins and supplements. I was then told by her assistant that Dr. Gulati would not release a bio identical hormone for me until I had a trans vaginal ultra sound. I set about trying to find a place to have this test, they recommended one place that charged $ 2000 for the test. I waited one month to get an appointment at Bellevue hospital to have this test. In the mean time I called bck the office to say I was really suffering, they said there was nothing they could do for me. When I saw the GYN at Bellevue they said we will not authorize this test for you because you don’t have a uterus, doesn’t your doctor know that? I called back Dr. Gulati directly and told her this. She blamed her assistant and said she was in great need of a vacation. We decided it would be best for me to come back in and see her. She called me back after we had set a time for an appointment when I was at my friends house to tell me that my cholesterol was through the roof. She had these test results for abt 2 months and never said anything to me. I went back to see her and paid another $ 300 for my 2^nd visit. I was told that the pharmacy would call me that day and deliver my prescription for hormones and she told me I should take lipitor for my cholesterol. I never heard from the pharmacy. When I called them myself they said they didn’t receive a prescription for me. I called bck PM and they said my prescription had been sent upstate. At this point I contacted the office manager to voice my complaint. She told me that the office would give me my next follow up appointment for free, a value of $ 300.00. I said fine and signed an agreement.
In the meantime I did some research myself abt cholesterol and found out that the way most doctors present the information, bad cholesterol and good cholesterol is not the whole story. There are a sub set of numbers that are more important in determining your risk called inflammatory markers. I wrote to Dr. Gulati and asked her what my inflammatory markers were. The office manager wrote me back and said that they didn’t test for them at that time because they were trying to save me money and that I should go see a «cholesterol lowering specialist.» I don’t believe that they were trying to save me money because Dr. Gulati ordered every blood test that she thought was important at that time and took my blood twice for my cholesterol. I was dismayed that they didn’t ask me to come back in in order to check these numbers and told me to go see someone else. I went bck to my family doctor who drew my blood and agreed that I could take Red Yeast Rice which is a natural alternative to lower cholesterol. While I was there I mentioned that the bio identical hormone Dr. Gulati gave me was not managing my hot flashes. We also noted that the bio identical hormone Dr. Gulati prescribed for me was twice as expensive as the one I had been taking for 10 years. She augmented my original hormone prescription for me and my visit with her was $ 100.00.
So now that I have a new bio identical hormone from a different doctor there is no need for me to go back to Dr. Gulati. I called the office and requested a $ 300.00 refund. They said no. Why would I ever want to go bck to this doctor after the aggravation and time wasted. I wish I had read these other reviews before I wasted my time and money at Patients Medical.

I’m a blue collar kind’ve guy and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about any medicine outside the «norm» but, I was really blown away at the transformation I saw in myself and my girlfriend after seeing Dr. Kokayi at Patients Medical.
I saw dr. kokayi and he was superb. the attention to detail was actually very surprising and refreshing. Typically a visit to any of my doctors in the past consisted of «Hey how are you feeling, let’s take your blood pressure, take some blood. Okay great. See you in a year.»
With Dr. Kokayi it was a whole different story. He had no problem sitting down and chatting in depth to see my concerns. And *then* he did a full exam incorporating both western and eastern (Chinese) medicine. Took extensive food allergy tests (waiting to hear back on) and addressed some of my issues like: Anxiety, Sleep Disorder, bad eating habits. He gave me some supplements.
To answer some of the concerns from the other reviews on here:
Are the supplements a little on the pricey side… yes. But what the hell… what’s the alternative… get cancer and save a few bucks? I don’t see the logic. Some supplements are way cheap while some are more on the expensive side. It all depends on what you might need.
A few people on here think that this place is a scam. I am a skeptical person and let me be the first This is *not* a scam. I am already 10lbs lighter from avoiding some foods dr. Kokayi suggested and my overall health has gone from dismal to great.
I highly recommend patients medical… for the first time in my life I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Dr. Goforth at Patient’s Medical is a well-​rounded physician, knowledgeable about many areas of health and interested in providing actionable plans for his patients to improve their health and achieve their personal wellness ambitions.
Had visited Patients Medical several years ago and Dr. Goforth exceeds the professionalism of previous doctors there.

This place is a scam! MONEY MONEY MONEY is right. They push over-​priced supplements on you and make you feel guilty for purchasing them from other venues (for less than half the price!) They constantly call to schedule check ups for no reason.
They refuse to refill my prescription for birth control unless I come in every other month for a «check up» with Dr.Howard. Each consultation costs hundreds of dollars and is a complete waste of time. The receptionist told me they were in my network and I was covered under insurance. When it turned out they are out of network, all they had to say was «oops». DO NOT GO HERE!

My appointment took more than two hours as a first appointment. I haven’t been able to deal with the insurance yet, so I cannot comment about this yet. I went there for one issue only and purchased four supplements. My gut instinct is to find the same supplement value elsewhere as I don’t want to continue to pay for $ 70 (on average) per supplement. If I do not get this reimbursed, I will be one very upset camper.
The staff was very curteous, but it took a while before my first vitals were taken. The doctor took her time and asked me a lot of questions which I liked. I found that her recommendations were pretty harsh (a total change in diet which I do not know if I will be able to do), and supplements, supplements.
At one point I kept thinking… ‘Hmm I wonder if I’ve been had’. I will update later on to see. I may have to find another place if this becomes overly expensive.

Used their on-​line store to buy a supplement I needed for a cleanse. It’s something you have to be licensed to sell, so hard to get. A product called Insinase.
Their website says they «do their best to ship out all products the next day,» which is why I selected them.
After 1 week of waiting, I called to track my order. Was placed on hold 2 times, and voice mail 2 times. Left a message. Got a return call next AFTERNOON telling me that their labeling machine was broken and the product had never shipped! They wouldn’t overnight it to me, so I asked for a refund. I’m told I’ll get it. I suppose that will take more calling to check on.
I really needed this supplement for a cleanse I started. I knew it would be a bit later than needed, but didn’t anticipate this late. Tried to explain this to the people on the phone and they couldn’t have cared less. If they don’t want to service people by online and mail order, they shouldn’t offer it. They have zero customer service in this area.
I called my local heath food store. Told them my story and they were only too happy to place a special order for me and get the product here in 3 days. GO LOCAL!!!

Money, money, money. Everything costs extra, nothing can be paid directly by insurance, most costs will never be reimbursed by insurance, pills and supplements are «strongly suggested,» every possible test is run, and appointments are hundreds of dollars each. Although some desperate people do come to Patients Medical as a last resort for serious problems requiring alternative care, it seems the majority of patients are getting luxury anti-​aging treatments and experimental nutrient IV drips and the like. It’s an older, UES elite crowd.
I found my doctor to be courteous, sincere, and professional, but she was ultimately unable to help me. I spend hundreds of dollars in just a few months, thinking that if my health improved, it would be worth it. Finally, I realized it was going nowhere and found a different, better doctor elsewhere.
