History

Established in 2008.

Remember Forever began in Australia and recently opened in New York City, Boston and DC. Their award-​winning Australian founder, Luke Ballard, has been published and exhibited around the world and is an esteemed teacher and lecturer in travel photography and fine art photography.

What started as a small traditional photography boutique in 2008 quickly grew into a leading provider of workshops and city tours with locations in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and the Gold Coast.

In 2012, Luke Ballard moved to New York to oversee the expansion of Remember Forever to the United States. After experiencing immediate success in Manhattan, Remember Forever expanded to Brooklyn, Boston, DC and Philadelphia.

Luke and his team are expert photographers as well as passionate teachers excited to share their love for photography with the world!

Born in Australia, Luke is an award winning photographer whose travel photography portfolio includes images from Australia, Africa, Europe, USA, South America, Asia and the Middle East.

Luke is also an accomplished and award winning fine art and portrait photographer.

Even grocery shopping, Luke can be seen with a camera convenient as his personal philosophy is «By the time you see a photograph, it’s usually too late to take it — always be ready!»

When Luke opened Remember Forever in 2008, he planned on a quiet boutique studio — but the demand for his photography and his expertise in teaching grew to make Remember Forever the largest photography company in Australia.

Luke now lives in New York where he manages and teaches at Remember Forever NYC and supervises the expansion of classes and workshops around the United States.

I don’t usually like to pile on when a company is down. However, I also don’t want companies who take people’s money without an semblance of responsibility or accountability toward those people to be able to continue to operate in that manner. This is an Australian company, and they do not seem to have any concept (or they don’t care) about consumer rights in the US.
I wrote a fairly comprehensive review on them on TripAdvisor, for those interested in the details. For the rest, if you’re just wondering whether you should use Remember Forever, just sort their Unilocal reviews by date (newest first) and that will give you an idea of where this business is headed.

Like Nich, I was also SCAMMED. This is one of the worst companies to deal with. I was supposed to be an instructor for the classes, after I did a few classes I was never paid for the classes. This is why the instructors are not showing up! They are not getting paid!
I highly recommend never doing any business with Luke Ballard or his scam of a company Remember Forever Photography. DO NOT BOOK CLASSES HERE! They will steal your money and never reschedule!!!

Wow. I forgot about this scam of a company but was reminded when I received notice of a class action lawsuit against them.
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM. Company collects your money and does not hold the classes.
I booked the Love your Camera class and the instructor was a no show. There were 10 people gathered in Columbus circle all trying to contact the instructor and the company but no answer on either end. Everyone left after 60 minutes.
The company never contacted me to reschedule or apologize for wasting my Saturday morning. I finally reached them over email and rescheduled for a couple months later, the next class.
The morning of the class when I was already on a bus into the city, they text to cancel the class! The message even had something about «looking forward to the opportunity to make it up» to the customers. But again — NO contact made to reschedule and it’s been nearly two months.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this place. My husband found them and said they had great reviews (which I see) and gifted me a couple of classes. I signed up for a class and they canceled it last minute (day before) saying there weren’t enough people signed up and offering two later dates as options to reschedule. I was disappointed, but signed up for a reschedule date. The date was confirmed and then again, the day before it was canceled due to not enough attendance. I then responded by text and by e-​mail noting my displeasure and no one has gotten back to me (it’s been 2 weeks!). I also tried calling, but I don’t think anyone mans the NY number since they are an international company. Perhaps the classes are high quality, but this is a terrible experience! At this point, i just want my money back!

Unreliable and unprofessional. I reserved a class twice with Remember Forever and both times they were a no-​show and unreachable. The amazing Unilocal reviews were the reason I signed up in the first place but I am astounded that they are still in business. If they do not show up for a 3-​hr photo class (at $ 100+ I may add), I would definitely not trust them to show up and photograph a special occasion for me!

I was hired by Luke Ballard to guide/​teach the Las Vegas Tours. I taught 3 classes and never was paid. After getting 3 emails from Luke Ballard the last telling me it’ll be taken care of. its been 2 ½ months no emails, calls and most importantly I haven’t been paid!
THIS COMPANY CON’ED ME AND THE GUY THAT HIRED ME. I RECOMMEND TO NEVER PAY FOR A CLASS

I did 3 workshops with them and everything was perfect but in July I bought the unlimited voucher and since then they have cancelled every single workshop that I tried to do.
The reasons for the cancellations are just amazing and don’t expect to get any reply if you send them an email or call.
I don’t know what is going on but I wouldn’t book any workshop with them unless you want to lose your money.

I loved the «Advanced Landscapes: Indoors and Interiors» photography workshop at Grand Central Station in NY. This was my first class with Remember Forever Photography, taking advantage of a LivingSocial deal. Scott Dengrove ran a great 3-​hour lesson with a small group. He brought an iPad to present some cool charts and graphs on exposure and composition, and also showed us some great sample pictures to illustrate the concepts being explained.
We also had plenty of time to go around the Grand Central Station to take pictures and practice the tips learned. Scott devoted plenty of time to review our sample pictures and provided great feedback and additional suggestions. I found this class very valuable and look forward to enroll in future classes at Remember Forever Photography. I highly recommend it!

Took the nighttime photo class and could not believe the pictures that I took by my self on my own camera! The class was broken down into laymen’s terms and I came out of the class with more than a few «aha» moments! It was a great class and Luke and Devon were awesome! Will def go back for more classes!

Love your camera, love your photos was a great class for me, a beginner. I was taking pictures in auto mode but after taking this class I learned so much more about my camera! Our instructor Byron was knowledgeable and patient. It was a fun class and nice to be outdoors in the park.

What a great workshop!
I got 2 classes as a birthday gift from Groupon, and took my first class this passed weekend with Byron. The class focused on camera basics and how to shoot without ever using the Auto setting ever again (which is exactly what I was looking to start learning!)
It was beyond cold so the 9 of us went inside to a café for the first 2 hours to begin learning about our camera settings and all the basics that you must know before using that expensive camera you bought.
Byron gave us all the right pointers from the basic and necessary aperture, shutter, and ISO you need to take the picture with the right colors.
If you have a fancy camera and want to know how to use it, then definitely take this class called «Know your camera». Looking forward to my next one which focuses on people, faces and family.

Luke is Fantastic! Jumps right in to save the day with a moments notices. I can only imagine what he and his team can do with more time. From creating a backdrop, getting props (Pirate gear), and making sure everything is fully set up. Amazing fun to talk to and work with, a great personality… feels like family almost. A must use for any event, anywhere… but he is based in NY currently. LOVE HIM!

The experience and knowledge transfer was remarkable. And the new acquaintances was equal in comparison. The instructor was an expert and his personality was a total plus. This was most certainly NOT my last course. I highly recommend Remember Forever.

I took the Love Your Camera class (got a Unilocal deal!), and had a fantastic time! We had a small class, four of us, which gave us a lot of interaction with our instructor, and helped me learn a great deal.
My camera has been set to manual ever since, and I am looking forward to doing more classes with these guys in the near future.

I took the «Love Your Camera» to learn how to use the initially-​daunting manual mode in my new camera. After three hours, I can not believe how much I really came away with on how to understand aperture, depth of field, white balance, focal point and so many other important key concepts in building a good photo — no longer do I need to rely on auto and program modes, and I am excited to really experiment. The instructor was great and easy to understand. After each concept was introduced, we had the chance to practice that concept right there in Central Park and he made himself available for questions if we had any. The group was also very intimate — only 6 learners in all. I’d definitely recommend them and am looking forward to their other classes as I continue learning.

Took the basic digital photography class with Devin. I had watched all the Basic Digital photography tutorials on YouTube… and it didn’t compare to the instruction and methods I learned in the class. Devin is an excellent teacher, and very funny!!! I’ll be taking as many classes with Remember Forever as I can… you learn so much! Thank you!!!

My parent’s bought me a Nikon DSLR camera for Christmas and I instantly fell in love with it; too bad I had no idea how to use it! I bought a voucher for the «Love your camera» class and I definitely was looking forward to learning how to use my camera. Luke was our instructor and he was amazing! We learned how to use the camera in manual and this class definitely taught you way more than any guide that comes with the camera can (I know because I had read mine before attending the class). I definitely recommend this company to everyone, especially people interested in really learning how to use the camera while having fun and getting to interact with a group of new people!
