History
Established in 2011.
Reyn or Shyne is a community enrichment program that was founded in 2011 and developed to give families and individuals a real option for change. We strive to assist people with the reentry and reintegration process associated with being recently released from prison. Our motto is «Bringing Families Together» and we believe in the commitment and belief in one’s community as well as the people who live there. Our plan to bring families together and strengthen the ties in our urban communities are to provide various community outreach programs, financial education programs and youth intervention programs in communities throughout New York City. We will also provide a wide range of services to recently released individuals including employment assistance, counseling and advisement, social skills and financial awareness. In an effort to support the currently incarcerated we provide reliable transportation to Clinton, Franklin, BareHill &Upstate Correctional Facilities every Saturday Night.
Meet the Business Owner
Brandy W.
Business Owner
Reyn or Shyne was founded in 2011 in response to the way I was being treated during travel to correctional facilities throughout New York State. Several different companies that I experienced were inconsiderate and unaware of the urgency of the situation at hand. I felt that there should be a better option during this already strenuous time in a person’s life. There were Mothers, Sisters & Children traveling on these unsafe money hungry buses and once that was realized I vowed «Reyn or Shyne» that we would make a difference form this point forth, I wanted better and I knew my people deserved better and Reyn or Shyne Community Reintegration Program Incorporated was born. I quickly realized that the transportation should just be the starting point where we can connect with the families and help them support their incarcerated loved ones be4 providing various reentry programs upon release. We also wanted to address the problems at their core so we developed youth intervention programs.
