I had a very good experience with Dr. Taliwal. She was very professional and accommodating given my situation. My old retainer broke and she went over the available options and helped me make the best decision. Her staff was very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. I highly recommend her and the whole Metro Orthodontics team.

Dr. Taliwal is a by far one of the best health care professionals I have ever interacted with. She, and her staff, are both friendly and professional. I live in NJ and it is definitely worth the trip to NYC to see her.

It’s very easy to recommend Dr Taliwal and the team at Metro Orthodontics. It was about a year ago that I started treatment to straighten my teeth knowing very little about the workings. It has been a very easy process all around and Dr Taliwal has been there with me every step of the way, educating me and making sure everything was running smoothly. The atmosphere is both relaxed yet professional, I’ve never had to wait to be seen and generally its a very quick appointment. Don’t hesitate with this one, book with confidence.

I don’t understand how everyone else online is rating Rita Taliwal as having great bedside manner and passionate about her job. When I went in for a consultation, I was made to wait for 40 minutes before I could even see her, and I was only able to see her when I flagged down one of her assistants. She seemed to come in reluctantly, and asked brusquely where I lived and what I was doing here – not in the nice, introductory way that most people do when they first meet someone (let alone a doctor); I was made to feel as if I shouldn’t even be seeing her, since I lived in NJ but worked in the city. I was a little taken aback, but I calmly explained my situation – I had had a couple other orthodontists telling me I needed surgery and tooth extraction, in which I was not interested, so I wanted to see what Dr. Taliwal had to say, since she had such good ratings online. She wouldn’t listen to my whole story, kept interrupting and talking over me all while misinterpreting what I was saying, was unsympathetic to anything I had to say or questions I had, and eventually said (verbatim): «You just came in off the street, and you don’t even have a general dentist, so our conversation ends here.» She then left the room abruptly to greet another patient even though I was still supposed to have time with her for another 15 minutes, leaving me in shock and confusion. It is true I haven’t found a general dentist yet, since I only started working in the city a few months ago, but none of the other orthodontists ever indicated that as a prerequisite for just a consultation. If that was the case for her, I should have been notified when I was making the appointment and told the receptionist I didn’t have a dentist. I also did not just «walk in off the street»; I had a legitimate appointment.
I had never been spoken to so rudely, *especially* by a medical professional, in my life. A medical professional should not be speaking to patients/​potential patients like that, especially since most people who come in for medical/​dental help are there asking for help, with concerns and stresses of their own. I left Dr. Taliwal’s office without any useful information (despite the appointment being for a consultation, the definition of which connotes obtaining information), having wasted my time, and with a bad taste in my mouth.*
*I will say that she later wrote me an e-​mail to apologize with a non-​apology («I’m sorry if you felt that way»), but the 10 minutes I had with her was traumatic and offensive enough, and I wouldn’t recommend her to my worst enemy.

Dr. Taliwal is beyond awesome — I have been a patient for many years and she is through and through a consummate professional. Not only kind but incredible knowledgeable. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

I have been a patient of Dr. Taliwal’s for the last eight months and am approaching the end of my invisalign treatment. I have nothing but stellar things to say about my experience with Dr. Taliwal. I concede that I can be a difficult patient to deal with, as I seem to always have a million questions and concerns, but Dr. Taliwal is patient, knowledgeable in what she does, and meticulous in her practice. She has a great demeanor and always made me feel that I was the priority during each appointment and responded promptly whenever I had questions in between appointments. Dr. Rita Taliwal is an outstanding professional. I was referred to her after a traumatic accident which required her to do both emergency care, and also long term orthodontic work. I had to spend a lot of time in her office and she and her staff made me feel comfortable and cared for in a very stressful time, which I am grateful for!

I had a great Invisalign experience with Dr. Rita Taliwal. I was told a few times from other orthodontic specialists that my case was going to be challenging and that I may be better off going with traditional braces. Luckily I was referred to Rita by my dentist and from day one I felt confident that I was going to get that perfect smile that I had always wanted.
Fifteen months later I have straight teeth. I stayed committed wearing my Invisalign retainers at least 20 hours per day which is how you get the results but it was very helpful to have the monthly check-​ups to see the progress. Rita was very thorough in her direction and follow-​up so I was always clear on what I needed to do in order to get the results I wanted. The whole experience was much easier to go through than I initially anticipated. And the best thing of all is that most people did not notice I was wearing the retainers and now I’m receiving so many compliments on my beautiful smile! Thank you Rita and team!

Dr. Taliwal was very nice and patient. I went to fix a permanent retainer and she took the time to answer all my questions. It is clear she is passionate about her job and is not just trying to squeeze every penny out of you.

Dr. Taliwal is the best! She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about being an orthodontist. It is clear from your first appointment that she has your best interest at heart. I went to Dr. Taliwal because I wanted to have my teeth realigned for my wedding. She walked me through the pros and cons of traditional braces, Invisalign, and other methods of realignment for the big day. Having gone through the great experience that I have with Dr. Taliwal I wouldn’t go to any other orthodontist in New York City — and because she is so good at her job I never will have to!

I did a two year invisalign treatment with Rita. The results speak for themselves and my family is thrilled with my straightened smile. However, what truly separates Rita is her special passion and energy she brings to the office. I actually found it fun knowing it was that time of the month to get my new invisalign — knowing that I get another dose of her stories. I am actually happy I had crooked teeth — knowing that I got to meet Rita!

In an city full of orthodontists, what a relief it is that I discovered Dr. Taliwal! I did my Invisalign treatment with her, and not only do my teeth look amazing, she was sweet and supportive every step of the way. She was also totally upfront with the costs of the treatment and worked with my insurance to make sure I could get a discount. I have heard horror stories of people who were quotes lower prices only to have random charges tacked on for xrays, retainer, molds, etc. I have already recommended several friends to go to her, and if you are even considering iInvisalign pay her a visit!
Also, I should note her receptionist is so sweet that I actually enjoy getting a call about my appointment the next day.
