Alani has been walking my dog Jax for about seven months now, and I have to be honest I’m not disappointed. She really puts in time with Jax and actually trained him to sit when other dogs are near and to pee outside (he would often pee in the house no matter how many long walks I gave him) and she has helped me out alot with him. He is also an extremely hyper active and big (about 50lbs, pit bull) so her control on him outside was impressive. One time she was sick and couldn’t make it but Josie came and walked jax, even spend extra time with him at the park. So in my opinion they are both very reliable. And for the price is even better! I was hesitant at first but I’m glad I gave this company a chance! They made my life with my dog so much easier, is worth it and the service is great. I would recommend this service to anyone I know that has a dog.

We have been using Josie as a dog walker for about 5-​months and we think she is great. Josie walks our 11-​month old puppy Madison. She is a high-​energy 45lb puppy and Josie does a great job of controlling her. We have even seen an improvement in Madison’s behavior since Josie started walking her. Madison really loves Josie and looks forward to her coming and walking her — something I witnessed lately since I’ve been working from home. Josie walks Madison by herself which we really like because a lot of other dog walkers you see have 3 or 4 other dogs, so Madison gets her complete attention. Josie is very professional and helpful. She always leaves daily notes letting us know the time she picked Madison up and came back, whether Madison went to the bathroom and what, and any update on how she is doing. We always set up our walks weekly by text with Josie, which makes them very flexible and easy for us since our schedules change so often. Plus, Roscoe’s digs is very affordable. We would definitely recommend Josie to anyone in the neighborhood.

I held off on posting about this company for a while because I wanted to cut them some slack since their prices are low and they seem pretty young. But after my fiancé and I stopped using them and experienced top level professionalism from a different dog walking company for just a couple of dollars more, I felt it was warranted.
While Josie was, on average, pretty consistent, there were a handful of times when she couldn’t make it, which is kind of a lot considering we only used them for a month or two, three times per week. I understand that shit happens but when you are in this type of business and when clearly these instances have happened in the past (according to the reviews) it’s your responsibility to have a backup and alternative means of communication in place. Of the times Josie didn’t show up, twice she sent a text close to the time she was supposed to come saying she was sick. The other 3 times, we never got a text or phone call. After a few days, we learned that Josie broke her phone. But Alaina could have reached out to us. And like the reviewer below mentioned, there are several ways to get in touch with a person these days —like email (which they have) and FB.
If you’re trying to save on money by going with this company, it’s just not worth it until these girls learn some discipline and professionalism. They are clearly not responsible or mature enough to run their own business at this point.

Alaine is awesome! I was fortunate enough to be home one afternoon to see my dog Barley, move in to the living room to wait for Alaine. He loves their walks. She gives him treats, she instagrams their walks, and leaves us completely up to date. We’re thrilled.
As a sidenote — humans are humans. They’re allowed sick days. Sometimes things happen. Emergencies come up, people go mia, and even the trains stop running.
We’d recommend Alaine to anyone and everyone, and Barley gives an enthusiastic tail wag of approval.

I hired Alanie in August to walk my dog 2 days a week. Initially, things were fine. Her rates were good; she put in extra time once when my dog was sick; generally we were very pleased. As Michelle describes below, Alanie cancelled on us twice in a short, two week period. The first time she texted to say she was sick at 1 PM (when she normally walks the dog). We did not have enough time to find a replacement and had to alter our plans to get home in time. The second time, we weren’t even told. I found out because I came home late and the money was still on our dresser. We didn’t hear a word from her for 4 days. After I left 3 messages and emailed several times, we finally heard back. Alanie claimed that her phone broke, leaving her without access to her calendar or contacts. We agreed to continue to work with her if she came up with a back up calendar system and a plan for if she got sick again. Within three weeks, she cancelled on us again (at 2PM the day of) and we had to stop working with her.
While Alanie is affordable, she is not reliable. If your schedule is such that your dog will be relying on the walker for a break in a long day, you cannot depend on her to show up when she says she will.

I hate having to write a negative review but these girls really let me down. I hired Alanie to walk my dog 3 – 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Both Alanie and Josie came this summer to meet my pup before the walks started. They assured me that they were experienced and responsible and that Josie would serve as a back up when Alanie couldn’t make it to a walk. Well, that promise was never kept.
In the 6 weeks or so that I used their service, Alanie cancelled last minute twice. Twice! Both times leaving me scrambling to find alternative care for my dog and neither time living up to the promise of having Josie sub in. The third time — THIRD — Alanie just did not show up at all. I came home to find the money I had l had left out for the week still on the table and my dog desperate to be let out after not being able to pee for over 10 hours. There was no phone call, no text, no email, nothing. Is this the behavior of a business that truly cares about the animals they are supposed to be caring for? Because, in the end that is what really pisses me off. These aren’t plants you forgot to water or mail you didn’t pick up… it’s a living, breathing, feeling animal.
To add insult to injury, I called and texted Alanie for days afterwards asking for my house keys back. She only responded when I told her that her behavior was disgraceful and that I would be writing an honest review. She responded that she had lost her phone and didn’t even know who I was. Really? How many of your clients text you demanding their keys back because you did a terrible job? Enough that you can’t keep them straight? It’s obvious but even if the shitty «I lost my phone» excuse were true, there are many ways to reach a person when you know their address and personal details: mail a note, FB message, email, etc.
I recently went on their website and found that their original rates had doubled. So I see now why I suddenly got ditched.
I would not trust my dog with these people. They haven’t shown that they care about my dog’s well being and only showed utter disrespect to me.

Alanie is great with dogs and always on time for her walks. I’ve had many dog walkers in NYC and she was by far the best.
