Where do I begin?
I reached out to Scott with quite a crazy project of building some hard walls for a tradeshow I was participating in. I was coming all the way from California to New York so it’s not ideal to bring walls from California with me. He was super responsive and went above and beyond to help me with this project. I loved that he was so open to it and didn’t turn me down just because he had never done it before.
Scott is reliable and above all, he follows thru 150%. Scott and his dad (who was so nice!) came to help install the walls on the set up day of the show. I paid him for the project and could have never heard from him again. Once we realized we couldn’t just leave the walls at the show, I texted him to see if he could help us. He came back on the last day of the show to help us tear the walls down! I am serious, if Scott wasn’t there, I am not sure what we would have done with the walls — it would have been a disaster. He is an all around seriously amazing guy.

If you are looking for an honest handyman with experience, excellent consultation advice, and a very high sense of customer satisfaction, Scott and his team at S&S Handyman is the way to go. I own a co-​op in Riverdale and after reading reviews and doing some extensive research online I went with Scott to give my apartment some last minute repairs prior to listing it for sale. Amongst the many tasks Scott has performed in my apartment is painting, grouting, and repairing mechanisms in an aging sliding closet door. Scott came to the apartment, provided advice based on situations instead of advice based on personal interest, and he is very responsive which is hard to find in handymen these days and he came as per our busy work schedule. I will be going to Scott for future work needed in my new home. I work in the facilities industry as a commissioning start-​up and acceptance engineer for industrial building systems and HVAC equipment and I endorse Scott and his team for their excellent work.

I own an apartment in Manhattan and I’ve always had trouble finding reliable, trustworthy help when it comes to repairs. I’m so happy that I’ve met Scott now (through Unilocal). He is great at what he does and offers very reasonable rates and is very helpful. I can’t say enough good things about him. I will definitely be hiring him again in the future.

We couldn’t have been happier with the work done by Scott and Dave. They were so helpful and responsive leading up to the appointment and, once they got there, were courteous, professional, and effective. We’re very happy with the work they did and would definitely use them again!

Scott and Dave got such high marks on Unilocal so I decided to give them a try and I’m so glad I did (and relieved). They are professional, smart, experienced and worth every penny if you want the job or jobs done right the first time.
First 2 wall sconces had to be removed from the wall and patched up. I had 15 paintings (most part of a large picture arrangement in the living room) and hung onto a concrete wall. They did it. Then I had 4 doors (I live in a prewar bldg) that had to be repaired (the wood on the rims had to be patched up since it had rotted away and a couple of door handles fixed or replaced. No problem. It was done simply and perfectly.
Scott and Dave are so easy to work with and will be using them again if needed.

Scott came over to fix a kitchen drawer that was off the tracks — wonderfully courteous, considerate with calling me as to his expected arrival and willingness to help.

Sooo this review is a little late, but still warranted! Scott came to my residence to enlarge 4 square frames on my table for some tempered glass plates I ordered (the glass plates were slightly too big and I found out you can’t cut tempered glass). He came with his precision tools, filed away some of the wood within each frame, and the glasses fit into their frames perfectly! He was timely and his price was affordable and reasonable. I highly recommend his services, and am getting ready to call him for another job!

Scott is extremely reliable. He came over twice to help me install two different sizes of deer wall decal on the brick wall and two curtain rods with curtains! Now my apartment is complete thanks to them, seriously it won’t happen without Scott and Steve’s help, I tried calling other highly-​rated handyman but Scott is the ONLY ONE WITH A LADDER (surprised?). His price is reasonable, and the work result is priceless. Thanks again. I will definitely recommend him to everyone who needs help with their place.

WOW! Scott is THE BEST. He helped me prep my apartment for move out (basic patching holes, removing AC window units and fixing a door hinge). He was friendly, professional, and got the job done in great time! Not only that, but he is always prompt to respond (a must for those panicking with no «fix it» skills themselves). Just two days later, I had an issue with my doorknob. Scott was kind enough to walk me through how to repair it myself on the phone. I can’t speak highly enough of him, and will use him for any and all of my handyman needs. Thank you thank you Scott!

Scott is beyond amazing!
In this heat weave, my apartment was like a sauna, after I called couple handymen with no success. I called Scott, he came over within 30 mins, thinking he was just going to look at what needed to be done. He states «there is no way, we have to get your AC up and running», He saves me money by advising that a bracket was not needed.
He even manages to assemble a small bathroom cabinet, and mount my wall mirror.
He is professional, affordable, honest, all around great.

I can’t write enough great things about Scott. After hiring the wrong handymen originally to do a job, I was a complete mess… with 2 weeks to fix my apartment, I found Scott on Unilocal,called and he completely saved the day.
He is unbelievably personable, responsible, punctual, detail-​oriented, design-​forward and SO SO trustworthy. Knowing I have him in my NYC arsenal is keeping me calm — I know, at some point, I will need to call on him again and can say I’m actually looking forward to doing so. I moved into a larger apartment and purchased a large window air conditioner for the new place, I wanted to make sure that it would be installed properly and safely. After leaving an email message, Scott contacted me the next day and we set up an appointment. He was right on time and Scott was very efficient and knew exactly what had to be done.

Excellent service! One of the handymen, Scott, was right on time for an appointment I had booked to install an A/​C. He installed it promptly with warm service. It is just a bit on the pricey side, but then again it’s NYC. Overall a great handyman service!

What can I say? Scott and his team are AMAZING!!! I am a owner of a upscale salon in Manhattan, and I was in the process of expanding my business by adding a spa suite in less than two weeks of opening. Not only was S & S Handyman detailed and friendly with good ideas, they were able to finish the job before my deadline.

Not expecting to reach anyone on a Sunday. Scott answered on our first call and made himself available the same evening! He was fast, efficient and extremely friendly. Reasonably priced. He was extremely detailed and did very nice quality work. No complaints. Not knowing who to call to install our ACs in our NY apartment, we went to Unilocal for help, and every review holds true.

Scott is my hero! I made two appointments with handymen prior and they both canceled on me! Frustrated when I contacted Scott last minute, he made the effort to visit me that same day and help me put up a wine rack, a mirror and a large wall-​mounted jewelry box. He was so professional and kind! He even insisted to clean up the dust from drilling into the walls. I cannot recommend him enough! He will definitely be my «go-​to-​guy» for any projects I need and I will be telling all of my friends in NYC about him. I just got a new puppy a couple weeks ago. After a small shelf fell off the kitchen wall and frightened the pup (fortunately, nothing fell ON him!), I was adamant about having someone come and ensure that the shelves were properly installed.
I did a search on Unilocal yesterday and found S & S Handyman. The reviews were great, so I gave them a call. Scott answered and told me he could squeeze me in that same night.
Scott kept in touch with me yesterday evening and came when he said he would. He was incredibly friendly and even played with the dog for a little bit! He made sure to add anchors into the wall to properly secure the shelves.
When he was finished, Scott even took a sponge and wiped down the shelves and counter tops afterwards so there was no plaster dust left behind. Most handymen (including my super) leave messes behind, feeling like it’s the customer’s responsibility to clean it up when he’s gone. But not Scott! I was very appreciative of that.
If /​when I have any additional needs in the future, I will definitely call S & S Handyman, and will be sure to recommend them to others as well. Thanks, Scott!
