Dr. Maryles is the best. I’ve been going to her for about 5 years now for both medical and aesthetic needs and have always had a positive experience. She’s got a chill vibe, and it feels like you are talking to a friend. She gives you options and lets you make decisions based on her advice, not forcing you into anything you aren’t comfortable with. Highly recommend her.

After years of dealing with other dermatology practices in the area, I feel like I finally located a dermatologist AND administrative staff that we will be sticking with. My entire family has now seen her at least once, and have never had a situation where we waited more than 10 minutes. Dr. Maryles always spent an appropriate amount of time(I needed to accompany my teenage daughters, so was always present), was very receptive to every one of my questions and concerns — and I never felt like she was rushing to get to the next patient. And, also worthy of noting — was always correct in her diagnosis and planned treatment régime.

Had my first visit with Dr. Shira Maryles this week and I will NOT be returning there for a follow up next week. I left feeling like I went in complaining about a zit that looked like lepracee and lotion will help. As a dermatologist she did not touch/examine my eczema rashes but instead stood against the wall with her chart, asked if I had a family history of skin cancer, interrupted me with a quick«no/it’s bc you keep rubbing it» before she even came over to look at my hands, when I asked if any of my eczema had staph bc the swelling and cracks just wasn’t getting better w/my steroids. She didn’t come over to examine new areas on my chest or neck/head and repeatedly said to stop touching my eczema, to use moisturizer, neck eczema was stress induced, and that the Rx I had from previous Dr just wasn’t strong enough. She rolled her eyes when I asked if we could discuss scar removal after my eczema is under control. I had a 45 minute wait before I saw her.

PROs: Dr. Maryles is professional and knowledgeable. And approachable/friendly. CONs: She seems pretty rushed — none of our consultations lasted longer than 10−12min. My gripe is also that she prescribed 2 skin-clearing creams that were both so harsh, they literally burned my face. I could blame my skin except I don’t have unusually sensitive skin. I was just applying what feels like acid to it. TMI? Perhaps. Just take it from me, and be wary applying the most aggressive(and expensive) acne cream(s) out there just because your dermatologist prescribed it to you.

Went back for a quick checkup(that didn’t require an exam, just a conversation), and Dr. Maryles was actually really nice, engaging, and helpful during that visit. Maybe I just hit her during an off day before. My previous experience would still make me hesitant to trust her with more than the very basics, but my opinion of her has definitely improved.

Have been seeing Dr. Shira Maryles for a few years now. One of the nicest doctors/people I have ever met. Very friendly & easy going. Takes the time to explain the situation & is more than willing to answer all questions. Has been kind & courteous to me every visit. Wait time has never been an issue. Lauren, the receptionist is an extremely nice & always helpful. Setting appointments has been flexible to my schedule when available. Overall experience has been super pleasant & relaxing.
