I have been here a couple of times and have received terrible service every time. They are very unfriendly and arrogant. Would not recommend their services to anyone.

My boyfriend and I rented two bikes last weekend to explore Inwood and Riverside Park. We walked in, were fitted to our bikes and squared away quickly. The customers in the store at the time were incredibly friendly, and the staff was professional and gave us all the information necessary to get to where we were going. We had a great day, our bikes were very good quality and performed beautifully (perfectly suited for our heights/​skill levels) and when we returned we were thrilled to discover incredibly reasonable prices for a long day of biking. I will absolutely go back the next time I’m looking for an outdoor adventure, and would recommend to anyone!

I guess Saturdays aren’t a good time to come here. This place is great in a pinch when I’ve needed to fix a flat, but I have tried twice here to purchase new fenders with no luck. The first time they were out of stock, the second time I waited and waited while the mechanic disappeared into the back to do something else until I finally left. I understand if he was working on something else, but they really need more staff or should at least let customers know if there’s going to be a long wait or they’re just too busy to help someone.

Can’t speak highly enough of this shop. Took my bike there for a tune-​up, it rides better than when it was brand new. Great service, great selection, and cool atmosphere. Glad this place is in my neighborhood!

On Friday I came into Talent Cycles with a flat. I purchased a new tire which was installed quickly and I was out the door. However, I took a ride the next day and ended up with a flat on the same tire! I was definitely upset and returned to the store today. Edwin was there when I came back in and replaced the tire with a new 25 mm tire (I had made the mistake of thinking that the 23 mm tire that had replaced my 25 mm tire had caused the flat) and even threw in new rim tape for free. He also did not charge me labor. Edwin not only provided fantastic service, but explained why my frustrations were unfounded which I appreciated. I will absolutely be back to Talent Cycles and would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for a good bike store.

Says open at 10am, but door shut tight. No one answers the phone. Terrible management. No consideration for bikers in needs.

Good talent at Talent! I came after I noticed a clicking sound at the top of my crank cycle. They diagnosed the problem changed my front gear set and pedals in less than 15 minutes. The price was very reasonable, and the service was polite. It’s a clean, well-​organized shop with a good selection of bikes, parts and accessories. Really, very, very good.

The dude there is quite friendly. He is helpful and easygoing.

Awesome — fast– front wheel tire flat fixed in under ten minutes– under 15 bucks with tax and super nice folks as well– I look forward to my next flat :-)

I wanted to love this place. We live in the neighborhood and its so great to be able to rent a bike somewhere in the area. But the sevice we received was horrible. My boyfriend and I had been riding our bikes for about 40 minutes when his tire went completely flat. We called Talent Cycles right when it happened and their recommendation was to get it repaired and bring the receipt. We tried that but it ended up taking us an hour to get to a bike shop and wait in line to decide it wasn’t worth it and to just head back to Talent Cycles. We finally returned, about 2 hours later and they wanted to CHARGE US FOR BOTH BIKES!!! We explained the situation again and the woman behind the counter said, fine, we will only charge you for one bike. So we still had to pay! No apology, no refund.
We will not be back.

Best bike shop and rental around. They know their stuff and one of the partners has won plenty of championships on bikes. They have all kinds of pro bikes and they do custom builds
too. We rented new bikes for $ 30 a day. Way better than City bike shares. Highly recommend!

Came back again to Talent Cycles for a major repair to my road bike. Once again Edwin is the man. Great work and great prices. So nice to see his store doing well.
I live downtown and it’s well worth the trek up to Harlem to get the excellent service. Best bike store in New York by far!

This is the best bike shop I’ve been to. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and reliable. Services are very fairly priced, and you always know what you’ll be paying before you purchase. I can’t say enough good about this shop. My favorite in the neighborhood and in the city.

Can’t say enough positive things about Edwin and his staff at Talent Cycles!
He’s a great mechanic, and knows his stuff. I am a capable mechanic on my own, but if given the choice, I’d rather have Edwin do the work since somehow it always comes out better. From re-​cabling my internally routed (and totally pain in the butt Madone) to gluing cyclocross tubulars, I will never take my bike to another mechanic in the city. Not to mention the fact that he’s the only guy I trust working on my girlfriend’s bike.

Edwin and his team really take care of you. Prices are also great. I got a terrific Cannondale for $ 600. (I’ve seen Cannondales for $ 2,100!) Edwin also installs extras for you, adjusts whatever needs adjusting a few days after your purchase, and instructs you on each aspect of your bike. I did a lot of research and I am so glad I picked this place.

Stumbled across Talent Cycles when I was looking to buy a commuter bike. Just came in to browse, but I was so impressed by the staff, the store, and the prices that I went ahead and bought my bike. I love this place and hope that they get a lot of business.
A couple weeks after buying my bike, I had some problems with the gears, so I took it in to have them look at it. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes without paying anything. Edwin, the owner, told me that because the bike is new the cables will stretch. Talent Cycles is great!

So … I’m biking along on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The weather is great, the sun is out and what could go wrong?
Halfway around Manhattan, I blow out a tire north of East Harlem.
Using my trustu Unilocal app, I see a few familiar bike stores in the area, but noticed all the rave reviews for Talent Cycles. Even though it was a few blocks further than the closest shop (Junior’s), I decided to give this place a shot.
It was definitely a good decision.
Upon arriving, I noticed how quaint but clean the shop was. Jesse at the front was extremely helpful and he and the mechanics had me in and out in no time. 2 new tires and a new tube later, I was ready to go.
It was good to hear to hear that this shop was founded by the former head mechanic of Toga Bikes. I bought my Cannondale there and have always been pleased with the service I get when they handle my routine tune-​ups. It was quickly apparently that Talent had the same expertise and good service I came to expect from them.
They have a good selection of bikes here as well, mostly Cannondale & Giant brands, though you can also special order a bike if the need arises.
The key here — great service, great mechanics and reasonable prices (it only costs $ 15 bucks to repair and replace a tube which is in line with most LBS in Manhattan). If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by to check out their selection or simply get your bike tuned up here.

I just moved to Harlem and was looking for a new bike shop (I’d previously gone to Tread in Inwood). While they do things a little differently – I couldn’t just get an appointment for my tune-​up, and it took days rather than hours to complete – I am satisfied with the end result.
I got the deluxe (I believe that’s what they called it) tune-​up that included a power wash, and my 11-​year-​old bike looks practically new again. It handles nicely and has a little more zip than it had before the tune-​up. And I added a star back for service that I had deducted for how long it took to get my tune-​up done because when I got home and realized that my U-​lock was not on the bike, Edwin zipped over on his bike to bring it to me. And in the shop when I bought a light for my bike, he helped me put it on right then and there.
Overall, it was a good experience and I’ll return there again for my next bike-​maintenance needs.

Ok! I cannot say enough about this shop! Nicest people in NYC! If you need anything bike related go here, especially if you’re up in Harlem.
I bought my daughters first bike here (which she loves) and have had a couple minor falls. In the process the front reflector broke off. They replaced it no questions asked. I also recently bought a citizen bike online, which I will get into another time, I love it and it seemed ready to ride out of the box. I wanted however to make sure everything was in working order before I took it out on the street. When I was in picking up the reflector I asked if I should get it looked at to make sure everything was in working order he said yes for sure. At first I thought of course he’s saying yes. He probably wants to make some extra cash to give it a once over but I thought better safe then sorry. Anyway went by the next day he put it up on the mount and gave it a pretty full check up. Then said wow it’s in good shape. I asked what I owed him and he said nothing. He said «you’re a customer, I didn’t really have to do anything. No charge»
It’s little things like this that will make me return and even go out of my way to send my business here.
So to repeat myself if you are in need of anything bike related check these guys out. You won’t be sorry.
