History

Established in 2012.

Formerly from MmcleodHair, Megan, Angie and Buddy formed an alliance after the salon’s sudden closing. In a dire situation, they moved across the street to Loft 26 Salon, where they now work independently, yet as their own entity, known as The Sunnyside of 26 within the salon.

Just had my 7th or 8th haircut with Angie and as always it’s like a deep meditation when I sit in her chair. I feel like she’s the artist and I’m a piece of marble she’s transforming. There’s no fuss or superficial chat with Angie, she’s so down to earth and I feel calmer when l leave.

I highly recommend Megan for color! Iv’e bounced around from salon to salon and Megan is the best colorist I have found in NYC. I recently went to her for balayage and was so pleased with the results — a perfect balance of very blonde and a more natural look. Megan never tries to push additional products and services on me which I find extremely refreshing. I always leave not only thrilled about my color but also about how well she blew out and styled my hair.

Angie has been my stylist for more than a decade and I can’t say enough about how good her cuts are. She’s so good that even though I left NYC nearly 10 years ago, I still go back every few months for cuts. I regularly get stopped on the street by people asking me who cuts my hair, and I can go for 3 months between cuts and my hair (a bit shorter than shoulder length) still look fantastic — a really clear indication of Angie’s technical skill.
I’ve sent several friends to her and have seen beautiful cuts that reflect my friends’ personalities and range from long to short to punky to sophisticated and sculptural.
And asian ladies — she does a tremendous job with both thick and thin Asian hair.
You won’t regret a visit to Angie!

Buddy is truly a rare find and I’ve been a faithful client for the last 4 – 5 years. Prior to finding Buddy, I tried every place in the city, even those crazy salons where I paid absurd prices, but none of them could deliver.
