Welcome to Zenshinkai Aikido of Manhattan, a dojo committed to propagating the martial art of Aikido through quality instruction as originally passed on by the late F. Toyoda Shihan.
History
Established in 2013.
Zenshinkai Aikido of Manhattan is affiliated with the Zenshinkai Aikido Association, a United-States based organization of dojo committed to developing and maintaining the philosophy that mind and body are one through the training methods of aikido, zen and related budo.
To accomplish its mission it is the belief of the ZAA that the long-term growth of the Aikido arts is reliant upon consistent and quality professional instruction which must be instituted and maintained. The ZAA’s instructional program is instituted and maintained by the Chairman and Chief Instructor Greg Noble Sensei under the teaching methodology of the late Fumio Toyoda Shihan and Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba.

Gary Wagener
Dojocho/Chief Instructor
Zenshinkai Aikido Assosication National Teaching Committee Member
Gary Wagener Sensei is a Sandan (3rd degree black belt) Aikikai, recognized by Hombu dojo in Japan. In 2012 he was appointed as a member of the National Teaching Committee for Zenshinkai Aikido Association.
The centering and harmonious aspect of daily practice is what originally and continually draws Mr. Wagener to aikido. «After training for some time students begin to notice their everyday movements change, their breathing changes, and their daily communication changes. This injection of focused harmony and budo spirit begin to manifest itself through the understanding of aikido.» Mr. Wagener’s goal as a practitioner and instructor is to help students understand the foundations and find joy in their training.
In addition to his training and instructing at Zenshinkai Aikido of Manhattan, Mr. Wagener has taught aikido programs to underprivileged children in New York Public Schoo
