We were in town celebrating our engagement and to attend the Mankato beer expo across the street from the hotel. My partner called ahead to let them know we were celebrating our engagement, just because she was happy about our recent exciting circumstances. When we called in the man said to make sure we mentioned our engagement when we came in, so we did. I guess as courtesy they upgraded us from a normal king room to a handicapped king room? We felt as though it were inappropriate to take a room from someone with a disability who may need it and also awkward because we requested a normal King room. When we mentioned it, the manager said the hotel was booked for the evening, but we actually checked in an hour early, which they said was a first come first serve basis. We returned from the beer expo to find a card addressed to «Mr and Mrs Lyman» congratulating us… seemed strange as we are two women…#heteronormative. Later we attempted to watch some tv… and found our tv broken. Nothing would come in… no channel, no picture. We sat for THREEHOURS as an employee tried to «fix» the tv. Seemed like an absolute waste of money. Thanks! Nothing like celebrating our engagement with an employee for half the night! What a waste Hilton. After they moved us to a second room that television also did not work. When we arrived at the third room we found a filthy toilet. Thanks for nothing!

I am a frequent traveler and prefer Hilton hotels. This is a nice hotel in a great town. Parking was free in a garage that had poorly marked signage for the connection to the hotel on the third level. I had a nice room 418 but was on the noisy side of the hotel. I am a silver level honors member so surprised I was put in that location. Biggest complaint was a lamp that would turn on that had one of those curly LED lights in it that was broken. Those are full of mercury so sure it was on the pillows and bed. Why wouldn’t the crew see this and replace?

Very nice property in downtown Mankato. I’ve spent two nights here and had a relaxing stay both times. Typical Hilton amenities in room: fridge, microwave, hair dryer, Keurig coffee maker. Spacious room with desk and sitting chair with ottoman. Free WiFi but parking is tricky — you need to park on the third level of the shared parking structure that connects to the hotel. There is an Italian, independent, restaurant in the lobby and they also offer room service. I didn’t partake in the food, but would appreciate a complimentary breakfast like at Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites. They also have a number of conference rooms in the property. It should be noted that the hotel backs to a busy street and the car noise comes in thru the window on the lower levels and if you are on that side of the hotel. However, traffic noise dies down pretty early in the evening. Also, the hotel is next to a theatre/concert venue… I imagine there could be crowd noise on concert nights, but not sure. Since I plan on visiting Mankato many times in the future, this will be my go-to hotel in Mankato.

I opted for a suite which at first glance I wasn’t too excited about because the room didn’t seem bigger than a traditional room. Then I walked into the bathroom and realized the upgrade meant I got a whirlpool tub! The space was clean, comfortable, and the tub was a great way to start my day! I didn’t get to try the hotel restaurant but, there were a number of bars and restaurants within two blocks of the hotel, Will stay here again.

Hotel restaurant does not abide by the working hours. Want to grab dinner from the hotel, make sure you call ahead of time to make sure that they still are open because they tend to close before the advertised hours.

We stayed a night here while house-hunting before moving to the area. The room was lovely and clean, the whirlpool tub was magical, and the bed was super-comfy. Breakfast the next morning at the restaurant wasn’t terribly good, none of the servers seemed to care much about us and got impatient when we had questions about the available food. I spoke to the folks who manage the hotel, they were incredibly friendly and understanding and let me know that this wasn’t the first time they’ve heard our complaint. Even though the restaurant is managed separately from the hotel they still offered us a room upgrade for our next stay to compensate for the unsatisfactory breakfast. That alone will ensure that I recommend the Hilton Garden Inn whenever we need a staycation or have friends visiting town.

Whenever I come home to southern Minnesota, I always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s a solid hotel, decent pool area, very courteous staff, always clean and comfortable. I’ve never had a problem here, and always had a really nice stay here. Keep it up!

Nice place. Safe, friendly and fairly priced. Relatively modern. I like it. Memory Foam mattresses suck the big hairy meatball though. If you don’t like Memory Foam, move on, nothing to see here.

There isn’t much I can say on a chain hotel that you can bet is corporate, safe, clean, and friendly. I had no qualms. I was in town for business, I stayed here. People and service was superb. The room was nice, everything was clean and I was comfortable. Internet in the room was pretty fast to stream media and easy to connect. I ate dinner at Olives, their attached restaurant on main floor, and the salad that I ordered was fantastic. The cocktail from their menu was not so much. I would probably advise to stick with the traditional cocktails or beer/wine. If I’m ever back in town, I’ll definitely stay here.
