History

Established in 2007.

By Jay «Flip» Pappas and wife Layla Pappas. Flip co-​owned Maggie’s Café and Saloon with his Father Jay Pappas which sold in 2005. Flip was the Head Chef and learned most everything from his father, whom ran not only Maggie’s but Michaels in the 60’s and early 70’s in Mankato. Flip is the 4th generation of Pappas’ to be a Restauranture. Both Layla and Flip are very hands on and you will see them both day and night working at Pappageorge.

Business Owner

Not only is Flip the owner, but he is the main man behind what makes Pappageorge unique. He hand-​cuts all of our steaks himself. He is responsible for all specials and has trained all of the cooks in our kitchen. Some of whom have been cooking under him for 10 years. Flip has grown up in the Restaurant buisness first stepping behind the sceen at 15 years old when his father the late Jay Pappas of Maggies Café and Saloon allowed Flip to skip school to wash dishes. Buy the time Flip was 20 he was running the line and has been there ever since.
