Quantum Mechanix

Have had my 2000 Toyota Camry LE to Quantum Mechanix twice recently for two very different repairs. On the first visit, Tommy told me about the second repair needed. I must say Tommy is fabulous. And talk about fair price. I very, very highly recommend him for any auto repairs and/​or oil changes you might need. My Daddy was a mechanic for many years and Tommy’s abilities and skills are right up there with my Daddy. Just FYI, my Daddy had clients from all over Texas come to him, as well as people from very far out-​of-​state — that is how good he was.

My search is over! When you actually understand what it takes to work on a car… proper bolt torquing, giving the old oil time to completely drain and not stripping out the oil plug, then you know that it takes a lot of due diligence to find a REAL mechanic who treats your car as though it was his own. I couldn’t have been more impressed by Tommy and his small crew (under his watchful guidance). They really made me feel like my car was in good hands and I didn’t have to be concerned the job would be done right the first time with expertise and qualified knowledge. Tommy was patient and answered my concerns even explaining products that even though are superior would not work for my particular driving style.
His mother is as sweet a person as I have ever met and was also the receptionist. I thought she was his wife but when we had a nice conversation as I waited on my oil and transmission fluid change she told me he was her son! Tommy, you better keep an eye on her or someone is going to snatch her up LOL! Anyway he promotes Amsoil which is one of the reasons I came in because my older brother was a mechanic and he loved Amsoil and used it in all of his cars. I can say my car is quieter and the MPGs are better after the oil change. I only use the top shelf Amsoil product… called «Premier» which is good for 25K miles between oil changes and has the best engine protective additive package you will ever find. Don’t take my word for it just get a Blackstone oil analysis done and you will see reality for yourself.
His prices were great too. Now that I have a mechanic I can relax knowing that my car will give me long service for many years to come. Just remember to do all your scheduled maintenance and you can protect one of your biggest investments rather than letting it fall apart and having to pump several $ 1000 into a new vehicle. I drive 30 miles JUST to see Tommy and the crew and hope his business stays in the black. Thanks Tommy for all you do! This is one of the best decisions I made when I came to Quantum Mechanix (Awesome name).
update 4/19/16…While out on deliveries I noticed a scraping sound against my rotor so thought something was coming loose on by brake pad. Took it to Tommy and after inspection he found a Shasta can crumpled up against it that I had run over which was rubbing on the wheel LOL! He didn’t even allow me to pay him for removing it. That’s integrity! Thanks again QM!~

If you are here reading reviews then you are like I was a couple of day ago… in need of a good mechanic and desperately seeking the real problem with your car. Well look no further. What a difference a great mechanic made in the performance of my Infiniti G37x.
I am so greatful to Tommy and his staff for all their hard work. Honest and straight to the point. I actually live 30 minutes away from this shop but, it was worth the drive and I assure you this company earns their 5 star status… Thanks Tommy!

Quantum Mechanix is my new, favorite, professional auto repair shop in this area! Tommy and Tony impressed me with their knowledgable diagnostic and expert, efficient repair skills! Tommy found my vehicle required a new alternator plus alternator belt that was misdiagnosed by another mechanic. Tony went to work on my vehicle right away and Quantum Mechanix had me back on the road in less than 2 hours and for less $$ than I paid several years ago for a new alternator on the same vehicle! I’m one very satisfied customer and highly recommend Quantum Mechanix for your car repair needs.

The most AWESOME customer service and repair I have ever experienced. Being a lady I expected a little grief. Zero drama. Very polite on the phone and in person. My car was ready at their estimated time. Wish there were more businesses that cared about customer service like them.

There are several things you need to think about when moving to a new area, but trustworthy mechanic is one that you never think about until you absolutely need one. I was in that exact situation with my ’03 Chevy shortly after moving to Mansfield, and by dumb luck (or perhaps divine vehicular intervention), I found Tommy’s shop.
My car is squarely on the repair/​replace fence, and both times I’ve taken it to Tommy, he’s come in at such an affordable rate that I’m still driving a car I thought I’d have scrapped years ago. It’s so painfully cliché, but he really does pay attention to everything in your car as if it was his own.
The perfect reviews for this place aren’t by accident. My home’s AC unit broke the other day; I wish I could have brought it to Tommy’s shop.

It’s very rare to come across someone as honest as Tommy. He had done my brakes a while back and I recently had some shaking in the wheel. I don’t even remember when the brakes were done. He resurfaced my brakes for free, and refused to accept payment for it calling it a warranty issue. Standing behind your work is something we rarely see these days and I thought it was worth updating my review to reflect that.

I found Quantum Mechanix about a year ago when I hopped in our 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe which was being driven by my step daughter and found it was making aweful grinding noises. When I showed up, Tommy looked over my car which had about 160,000+ miles on it at the time and knew almost immediately what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. Since our first visit to Quantum Mechanix, we have been back 2 additional times for oil changes, AC repair, and power steering repairs. Tommy is extremely honest, kind, and fair. He has never told me I needed more work than necessary and the price has ALWAYS been very fair.
As we have since moved out of the area and haven’t found a trustworthy mechanic, I recently called Tommy to get a price quote and his opinion on a new issue with our AC (clutch plate sheared off the AC compressor). He was more than willing to listen to the issue, gave me some suggestions on what may need to be fixed/​replaced, and an average price estimate for the work.
I wish all mechanic shops were as great as Quantum Mechanix. I can’t say enough great things about Tommy and his shop and would recommend this shop to anyone! As our Santa Fe now has over 180,000 and is still running strong (minus a few AC issues) I will definitely be back in the future.

Tommy is a gem. We have 3 cars that he takes care of. It’s a hassle to drive to Mansfield from Southlake, but we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Tommy is an honest mechanic who keeps his promises and gives you options-doesn’t use scare tactics. My mother-​in-​law was widowed last year and her vehicle is high-​mileage & lacked some of the maintenance that should have been done. Tommy fully assessed what was needed, gave us a detailed report on the soundness of all systems-​brakes, suspension, engine, tranny– and offered options from very cheap ($ 80) to over $ 800 and discussed the advantages of all options. He did the work as promised, charged exactly what he estimated & got it out when promised.
I checked with other shops in the area for an estimate for the same work (replacing the plugs and all 8 coils on a 5.4L Ford truck (a terrible job with extremely difficult plug placement and a coil per plug instead of plug wires) and his estimate beat other highly-​ranked Unilocal shops and was $ 100 less than Christian Bros.

Tommy is by far one of the best mechanics I have worked with. I have one other mechanic I use but he strictly works on ford diesels. I brought a 2002 Dodge Ram with the 5.9l that needed a valve job and power steering leak fixed. I didn’t know that upon bringing the truck in. I just simply knew it had a misfire and was leaking fluid when parked over night. Tommy properly diagnosed the problems. Fixed everything in a timely manner and kept me up to date on new costs. He always called me when he said he was going to which these days cannot be taken for granted. After getting the truck back I had some issues with the dash and radio going out while driving. Very scary. I called Tommy and he said bring it back so I can take a look at some of the electrical grounds. Within an hour had it fixed and I was good to go. My truck runs great, has zero leaks and is ready to work for 2015. I will bring all my gas vehicles to Tommy for future work. Highly recommended!!!

I’ve had 2 issues that only he could solve. So glad I now have a mechanic I can trust. He doesn’t «invent» work and he is VERY fair price wise ie… much cheaper than everybody else. I actually found him through these reviews!!!

Tommy and his crew solved the problems with my vintage auto. Took my car in after a year of frustration with my old mechanic and was very happy with the honest, knowledgeable service. Saved me $ 600 on my A/​C alone.

I went to Quantum Mechanix to get new brake pads put on my car because the old ones were beginning to squeak. I chose this shop because of the good reviews. Tommy did a great job and I was in and out quickly. The office and shop are very clean as well. I would highly recommend this shop for auto repairs.

I don’t normally leave reviews on a business, but with this company I felt I needed to take the time to do so.
Brought my 66 Mustang to Quantum Mechanix for some service on a heater core and the A’/C system that I thought had died. Tommy the owner from the start was great to work with, very effective with communication and went above and beyond when it came to service and the final repair. Tommy’s communication before and during the process was awesome, he called once he figured out the issues (a with in a day) and explained what needed to be done and what the cost would be. He also found a few issues that I was not aware totally, and he took care of those as well. I was very impressed with his pricing and level/​quality of service. I have been in the automotive equip. business since 2003 and have been is every dealership in the DFW area as well as most of the mid size and up independent shops in the area. I gotta say Tommy runs a top notch shop. The very fact that he the owner actually gets out in the shop and does repairs with his staff is a trait I have not seen in a shop since the 80’s. Tommy has a vested interest in this business and it shows with his communication and service skills.
I will be telling family and friends as well as business clients I have about this great shop tucked away in Mansfield. If your looking for a great and most important honest auto repair shop… give Tommy and Quantum Mechanix a shot… you will not be disappointed.

Honest, reliable, trustworthy, and knowledgable are traits that immediately come to mind when thinking of our experiences with Tommy at QM. He runs a clean, organized shop and his prices are reasonable. He’s also the type of mechanic who knows how to fix a vehicle, not simply replace parts, and he takes time to explain what needs to be done and why. He maintains all our cars and those of many friends.

We moved to Texas recently from Chicago and were recommended Quantum by a co-​worker. We wish we had this place in Chicago. We will never go anywhere else! Great customer service, no ripoffs or «Mechanic speak». Down to earth and honest, like every other place should be!

I had to find a mechanic for some work on my son’s 2000 Saturn. I feel Tommy thoroughly investigated the issues, quoted a reasonable price and got the repairs done quickly. He even took the time, well after 5 pm, to explain his findings and the repairs to me and my son so that it could be a learning experience. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced mechanic.

Wow, am I glad we did! He is just as everyone else here has described. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, very honest, very reasonable. When I picked up the van he had just repaired, I asked him about some things going on with my other car and he explained how I could fix it myself cheaply and easily. He even took the time to look under my hood with me and show me where the part was located. That’s customer service.

I had my mom’s ’86 Caddy Eldorado taken here when 3 other mechanics in the area couldn’t/didn’t want to even take the time to look under the hood. Not only did Tommy recommend a towing company he fixed the a/​c seal within the same day. He called with options which I surely appreciated. He just gained my trust and earned Two new customers.
