Dance & Cheer Stars

Absolutely the best Dance studio in the Manteca and Lodi area. My girls love Harmony and her staff. This past week, after being away for a year, my daughters had their first competitive cheer practice. When I spoke with them after practice, I could hear the excitement in their voices just to be back. They spoke about the goals Mrs. Harmony had already set for them, their sore legs since Mrs. Harmony made them «werk» and how much they missed being at DCS. It is assuring to know a dance teacher will push my children to the limits she knows my girls are capable of and treat them as if they had never left. Harmony really does invest a great deal of time into the improvement of her dancers and does not allow them to give anything but their best! This is one reason I keep my girls dancing at the studio but absolutely not the only reason. I have watched not only my daughters but countless others improve and celebrate every small victory along the way. On any given day during business hours, there are always little dancers looking for teachers, junior teachers and dance mates to show off their newest dance accomplishment. The teachers stay up to date on new choreography, teach each student proper technique, take pride in helping every dancer perfect themselves and display a great deal of patience with the younger dancers starting out. The facility is clean and every parent is invited in during the last ten minutes of class to get a glimpse of what their dancer is learning. I have yet to hear a parent complain about the nature of dance their child is learning. I recommend parents check the studio out before allowing the negative reviews to decide for you.
In an effort to shed light on the review posted by Charlene Craig, it’s been nearly four years since this parent was dropped as a client! That’s a long time to hold a grudge. What was left out is, after one too many incidents of her speaking badly about the studio, while her daughter was still a dancer and absolutely LOVED Harmony, she was told a refund would be sent to her as she was no longer a client. This was not an easy decision on Harmony because she was losing a student she cared about and knew it wasn’t the child’s fault but a business owner can only take so much. You have to take some of these reviews for what they really are, disgruntled parents who thought Harmony only cared about money and are now upset their child is no longer a dancer at DCS. If it was only «about the money Charlene would have never been told to leave, that’s money Harmony let walk out the door. Her own comment speaks volumes. «If you inspire your child to be a stripper than this is the hole for you!» (sic) yet her daughter was once a student for more than 5 years! These are children she is talking about! Wait, I do recall Laffy Taffy being the favorite part of our Candy Land routine Charlene, funny how you didn’t speak up then about the music/​dancing. Charlene’s attempts to hurt the reputation of the studio have not worked so she has resorted to new tactics. In all honesty, she’s like the crazy ex-​girlfriend who doesn’t know how to move on and goes to great lengths to try and damage any future relationships. Fortunately enough in due time they always move on.
To suggest a company is offering more opportunities to children, such as hitting and pitching, is only doing so because business is bad is a far stretch. Harmony’s husbands passion is baseball, therefore he offers hitting and pitching classes when the studio is not being used for dance. These two are positively impacting the lives of young athletes. Any business owner would make use out of a space that isn’t being used 100% of the time, that’s called smart business practice! I too welcome people to check out a competition! If you’re going to invest in your child’s future it only makes sense! During this time you will also learn that the «sexually offensive costumes» are not being worn by DCS. If what our dancers wear is terrible then maybe competitive dance isn’t right for you, which is why mainstream dance is also offered. The costumes for these classes are purchased from a catalog, they are what is being worn by other dance studios as well. I too would welcome all parents to READ YOUR CONTRACT! That’s a no brainier! It’s a legal document that is notarized, you wouldn’t sign a vehicle contract without reading it would you? We as parents do pay for the places our children compete but I can assure you not ALL dance studios travel as far as DCS. How many times do you visit a studio that danced during a halftime show for the Harlem Globetrotters? How many studios braced the cover of your local magazine and local newspaper countless times for the great work being accomplished?
Harmony cares for her students! She was on the Boys and Girls club board of directors and actively supports Give Every Child A Chance foundation in Manteca. Don’t let others judge this place for you, Dance and Cheer Stars is an amazing studio!

I have been a part of this studio for 11 years. I started as a student and am now a teacher. My daughter has danced competitively for dance stars for 5 years now. The studio is extremely organized and I can guarantee that the staff really, genuinely care about the students.
And I can personally guarantee that all dancers who have danced professionally were trained at dance stars because I was one of them!

Wonderful place for kids of all ages to enjoy dance and cheer! Ask the friendly front desk staff for anything you might need or want to know!

Paid 115 $ for a costume. We were given an old used costume from yrs ago where the Same routine was used. This place only cares about money! Does not like kids! Snake in dirty sheep clothing

Love love love this place! My daughter is 3 n has never had any training of any kind n they made her feel so comfortable. Totally worth the price excited to see the recital! Harmony is the best n so good w kids!
The only bad is the front desk person sucks!!! So slow so unorganized n did I say slow!
