Manteca Trailer and Motorhome

Horrible! In every way! When we bought our motorhome almost 2 years ago the sales team minus one person was awful! Then having some issues with our motorhome it has been over a year and it is not fixed. Always get the run around d… or its the wrong part. We have to drive 80 miles to take it in to them to leave it for 2 weeks and nothing gets done. I do not recommend Manteca to anyone! Be aware!

We did get an excellent price and a beautiful RV; this long review but it is worth the read if you are interested in how MT operates after the sale. We do not recommend Manteca Trailer (MT) to anyone. We bought our RV this spring. MT was helpful throughout the sale. The salesman promised us that we when we picked up our RV it would be detailed and that the three additional items we purchased would be installed and ready for us in 10 days when we picked the RV up. We paid an additional $ 4300 for these items. We did not hear a word from them after this. So 9 days later we called to make sure they had our appointment as scheduled and that they knew they were installing the fifth wheel for our truck. They didn’t have anything listed but did tell us that it would be ready for pick-​up and that they could install the fifth wheel. One of the things that was supposed to be installed were safety hand rails from the kitchen to the bedroom. The salesman was adamant that it would be no problem. Well, they were not installed and they also did not install the pull-​out basement tray that was promised. The 3^rd item, the fifth wheel for our truck, was to be installed that day. However, when we asked what fifth wheel unit we would be getting the one they said they sold us was not big enough to pull the RV. We knew what size the fifth wheel unit needed to be to carry the weight of the rig so we had time to make sure it was the right size. You would have thought that as the seller of the RV, they would know the weight requirements and would have the proper unit ready. However, they did try to give us a smaller, cheaper version. We had to take possession of the RV without the safety rails which was more than frustrating. They claimed that the basement pull out tray would be in the next Friday. Also, they did not detail the RV. It was filthy. They said they would get right on ordering the safety hand rails. After our first RV trip, we found several things that needed to be fixed. This was to be expected so it didn’t bother or surprise us but it took three weeks for them to find the rails and the basement tray which evidently didn’t come in like they said. When calling for updates we had to call a manager to get any information. The experience we received in taking the RV in to MT was awful. It took 6 weeks for MT to fix things that to us seemed to be relatively standard things. Things that a large RV dealer fixes all the time. They certainly didn’t rush and every attempt to call and talk to someone was frustrating. We again had to talk to the manager several times. The service writer wouldn’t call back. Often we couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone period. It wouldn’t have done any good to have the RV because one of the things that went out was one of the bedroom slides and it couldn’t open or close. The RV was virtually useless. Also our ceiling fan didn’t put out any air and the service writer said the ceiling fans really don’t move any air. They are there more for the decoration. We have many friends whose ceiling fans move a lot of air. Lame excuse.Also, we had to find the safety handles (they claimed to not be able to find them).Oddly when we finally went to pick up the RV 6 weeks later, we walked into the showroom and there was a Crossroads RV on display. It had a beautiful wooden handrail. Just what we were asking for. They also couldn’t find the pull out basement tray. We found one in 5 minutes. MT is an RV company and this is our first RV and we found the items within a few minutes of Internet search. They claimed to not be able to find either of them. We did sit down and talk to a manager when we took the RV in for the warranty work and he was very nice. He told us he wanted to make our experience right. We told him to make us happy, they could install 6 inch skid wheels on the back so that the bumper wouldn’t drag while backing up our driveway and onto our RV pad. He said he would accommodate our request free of charge and ordered the service writer to install 6 inch skid wheels. Also, he requested that it be detailed inside and out. Well, they installed 5 inch plastic wheels which cracked on the first attempt to drive up the driveway and onto the RV pad. The tag on the wheel said the wheels were rated for 750 pounds; our RV weighs 13,000 pounds. In other words, they installed the cheapest thing they could find. So much for being nice. We will now need to buy the wheels ourself. Also, the work order taped to the front of the RV on pick-​up said NO to cleaning and of course our RV was filthy. We could complain once again, but frankly, we don’t want MT to touch our RV unless it is absolutely necessary. We have had it. We are done with this company. Stay away if you can. There are other places that we have heard are so much better. If this review can help at least one person from going through the hell we went through with them, maybe taking the time to write this long review will give us some peace. Manteca Trailer is a negative 10 in our books.

We purchased a new 31 foot Jayco Greyhawk 2016 RV on March 5. The vehicle had some issues that we considered easy fixes and were told that these issues, stove bifold top and restroom medicine cabinet, would be fixed. We also requested that slide out awnings be installed and payed $ 1,500 to have them installed. We then purchased the $ 1,050 detailed inspection as well, and decided to leave the RV and pick it up on March 17, the day before our ten day spring break trip. Every part of me wanted to take the RV home, but I would wait until it was in perfect condition; not too much to expect when purchasing a new $ 128,000 suggested retail price RV right? I was mistaken:(
March 17:
The first major disappointment was the exterior wash; the RV was still wet and had major water spots. Sale decal sticker marks were still visible, along with other scuff markings. THERE WAS NO DETAILED INSPECTION, SINCE THE WALK THROUGH POINTED OUT MAJOR ISSUES. The exterior shower head leaked when used and the drivers side rear hydraulic jack leaked fluid. Then we entered the unit and noticed that the restroom mirror had not been fixed, nor had the stove top bifold lid. We then inspected the air conditioning unit and noticed that all the vents did not work properly. A service member made a quick adjustment to the ventilation system and placed the air intake mounting plate backwards during reassembly. We notified another service member; the mistake was corrected and the air conditioning unit vents worked correctly. We also requested that the RV have a full tank of gas. It was not, so we made an issue of this and our sales representative filled it up. My wife and I left the lot with our new RV excited but somewhat disappointed; THE UNIT WAS NOT ROAD READY. We agreed to return the RV after our spring break vacation and have it repaired.
We live 143 miles away, about a two and half hour drive. And when we get home, my wife and I begin packing for our family spring break trip. I began a quick inspection of the tire pressure and soon realized that every single tire on the RV was 20+ psi below the recommended tire pressure. They had not checked the tire pressure on my RV and sent me off without regard to safety. UNACCEPTABLE. If I had assumed that my tire pressure was fine, which is probably expected from a new RV owner, then my 1400 mile trip to San Diego to visit colleges with my son, mammoth mountain for spring break skiing, and then to Monterey to visit family; could have been tragic.
The first day into our trip, the hydraulic jacks did not function properly, nor did the 1,000 watt inverter. Did not know why but soon found out that the house battery was dry. Every single battery cell was dry except one. I also noticed that the right front tire was loosing pressure daily and had to be filled during our trip every other day. It was losing about 5 pounds per day. I had it checked at a local tire shop; the value stem was bad so I had it replaced. Despite all of these early challenges, I was still optimistic that all would be repaired after our spring break trip. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO DETAILED INSPECTION; DEFINITELY A $ 1,050 DOLLAR SCAM.
May 16:
We get confirmation that all of the parts are in and I drive 143 miles to have it repaired. After several unreturned phone calls, a service member states that it’s ready for pick up and all of the items are repaired. It’s not washed yet but will be Monday afternoon (June 13).
I arrive on June 16 at noon to pick up my RV and was shocked to see it had not been washed. I then proceed to check the interior work; the medicine cabinet mirror was not replaced but pried off and re-​glued on. It fell off and was on the restroom floor. We were told a new medicine cabinet door and mirror would replace current one. Not so.
The bifold stove top lid hinge was replaced, but now has multiple scuff marks and scratches. Again, we were told that a new bifold stove top lid was replacing the current lid. Not so.
The house battery was replaced with a marine deep cycle battery; but after checking the charge, it was dead. Service rep said a light must have been left on. And to make matters worse now, the in-​dash touch screen radio was non functioning; screen was white with vertical colored lines. Not sure if this was a byproduct of the house battery issue. Service rep was going to investigate. The hydraulic jack appears to have been replaced, but I could not test the system since the house battery was dead.
I’m am not a happy camper… the service rep has stated the following resolutions.
1. Order new bifold stove top.
2. Order new medicine cabinet door and mirror.
3. Completely charge house battery.
4. Full Detail of RV, exterior and interior.
5. Check and advise in dash radio screen issue; said he would call back to inform me on the issue.
6. Provide $ 100 dollar gift card for fuel.
7. The RV would be ready for pick up by July 1, 2016.
If these seven resolutions aren’t kept, then I will not be back.

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Bigfoot trailer and we love the trailer, but when we were scheduled to pick it up, the unit had not even been cleaned and a person had the balls to tell me the cilajet treatment to the exterior and interior had been done. The unit looked as if it had been sprayed down a day or two ago and there were water spots all over like you wash a vehicle and not dry it off. How could they apply this treatment on a dirty trailer, the top had not even been washed, you could see a layer of dirt.
They were supposed to go over everything on the camper in detail since I had paid their premium $ 850 to wash and detail the rig, well that did not happen and they attempted to clean it. Don’t get me wrong yeah stuff falls though the cracks but don’t bullshit me. Yeah I got a lot of we are sorry, but that does not cut it, they need to step up to the plate and offer something for the trouble, after all it was not my mistake and no one is going to own up to it after all, they got their money. They did remove the $ 850 charge for the prep work after threatening to cancel all the extras but now I have to go back and have this treatment done, and at a 280 mile round trip, fuel and time expense for a day for something that never should have been taken care of in the first place. We will see what happens next when we make an appt. to get a couple of warranty work items done and that cilajet treatment. If I could find someone local I would have the work done closer and never go back to this place again. But I know that is not going to happen since there is no other dealer for hundreds of miles for this brand of trailer. I think this business has grown to large for the facility and manpower that is on hand. They may attempt to cut corners with some people and get away with it, but not from me. I was even told by one of the guys who works in the maintenance shop that they sell 160 units or more every month and things just don’t get done, who tells a customer that? How am I to trust them doing a good job on the work I still need done that from first buying and picking it up?

Just wanted to give ADAM MASON a HUGE thank you. After I spent 6 weeks looking and researching trailers I knew what I wanted. ADAM is very knowledgeable and answered all of my 900+ questions without missing a beat. I’m sure everyone that works there is just as great but if I were you I would definitely ask for ADAM MASON.

A year ago I bought a Jayco trailer from here. Last week the electrical died. When I called to bring it in for repair the woman laughed at me and said they’re booked for two weeks. Apparently, either their trailers are so junky they overwhelmed with warranty work or they already have my money so they don’t need to take care of my needs and would rather take care of cash customers. This was my first attempt at warranty service here, I hope it will be my last.
I’ll never buy from here again.

warning. do not do business with this place! they treat you like crap once you leave their establishment. they do not stand behind theor vehicles!!! awful customer service! i would never go here!

Please! Do not waste your time here. Nothing but frustrations and lies. From sales to service this has got to be the worst company ever. How they have stayed open this long I can’t figure out. GO ELSEWHERE!!! Save yourself the headache!

I bought a 5^th wheel trailer here in May, which I have in a park in Fortuna (about 325 miles away). The DVD player did not work the first time that I tried using it. I called service, and they said that I would have to bring the entire trailer in to receive warranty service related to the DVD player. It was cheaper to pay for a new player out of pocket and install it myself than to pay for fuel to tow the entire trailer back to them. There is now a short in the switch for the water heater. As I actually have the opportunity to bring it in this week, I called again for service. They said the earliest they could look at it is February 26 (10 days away). Buyer beware! Service after the sale is non-​existent if you want anything done under warranty here.

I went here looking for a motorhome and have no experience. I walked around for about 30 minutes and couldn’t find anyone! I went to the «office» but no one was there. I decided to go to another place because this place seems like they don’t care. Please be advised and do not come here or purchase from these guys. If I could give negative stars I would!

5 stars for great customer service! Jason helped my father-​in-​law with servicing his trailer. The roof had a leak right before a planned trip and Jason was able to accommodate my FIL’s request without an appointment. He was friendly and fixed the issue with no problems. We can definitely count on them. Thank you Manteca Trailer.

My husband and I went shopping for a toy hauler today. Manteca Trailer and Motorhome was our 3^rd dealership and the ONLY dealership where no one approached us to see if we needed assistance. We walked around for a good twenty minutes while being completely ignored. We finally went inside where there was an abundance of employees just standing around and everyone just kind of looked at us… still not offering any help. (I guess we didn’t look like the motorhome buying type?) My husband said, «is everyone here afraid to go outside in the cold or what?» Finally an employee came over to us and my husband told him we had been there for awhile and no one even asked us if we needed any help. He said maybe they were all busy helping other customers etc… and we were like, no they just looked right at us and walked by???
He showed us a few toy haulers but at that point the damage was done. Customer service is number one in my book, if you don’t have it from the start? You don’t get my business period. I would rather spend my money where the salesman put his hotdog down to help us as soon as we pulled up! Now that’s dedication!

We bought our fifth wheel here about six months ago. Since then we’ve had to had it in for minor warranty issues and our service rep, Dave, is always there to help us any way he can. He gives 100% in everything he does. If he says he’s going to have it ready by a certain date, it’s ready on time, if not sooner. And if he says he’s going to call you, he calls. I really appreciate the excellent customer service we get from Dave.

169 days since newly bought and we now have a complete motor home. Thanks to the service manager, Tom.
If Tom had not gotten involved with the punch list items i doubt anything would have gotten addressed. The two stars only comes from the whole experience with sales and general management. Lesson learned: Don“t take delivery until all punchlist items are corrected and make sure Tom is included in the walkthru. In hindsight i would have declined paying them $ 1,000 plus for a walkthru. Take pictures of everything and document. Thanks again to Tom the service manager.

Can’t say enough about the service and the inventory here. I represent a nonprofit program called ACCESS and we provide complimentary stays in our RV for families who have loved ones hospitalized at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose. We were in need of a new trailer and Jesse spent time with us and made sure he understood our needs and our budget. He was professional, knowledgeable and very patient as we narrowed down our choices. We have been to several other dealers and the prices and customer service at Manteca Trailer were far and away the best. Purchased a Jayco travel trailer. We have families that stay in the trailer for weeks at a time and the Jayco will offer them a comfortable home away from home. Thank you Manteca Trailer and Motorhome. It was well worth the drive to Manteca from San Jose.

This place is horrible. We have had our trailer there over a month. They do not call to update you, they are not prompt or punctual on returning phone calls or repairs. I had to call and complain to the manager (this was about my tenth phone call) to tell him I was picking it up and wasn’t paying for it. So frustrated!

My daughter bought a Sundance trailer made by Heartland at this dealership. I went along with a long list of pre-​delivery items to check. They were very considerate and did what we thought was a good job fixing a leaking outside shower fixture. There were a few bubbles in the roof but she went ahead and bought the trailer. The following weekend we joined her and her family on their first outing. (we have our own rv) A few problems revealed that Heartland has very poor quality control and apparently Manteca Trailer is unaware of this. Anyway to explain — another water leak showed up in the form of a puddle on the floor in the front of the trailer, I found the problem and fixed it. It was a loose fitting on the back of the hot water heater. Next taking a shower revealed another water leak. This time it was a flood of water at the back of the trailer. We found that the j-​trap had a broken connection and that the Heartland folks did not use ABS cement to secure the plumbing joints. A trip to the local hardware store for plumbing parts and we got that fixed. The next morning another water leak. This time we found a pemex water line that was leaking. It appeared that a saw blade may have caused that leak. Once again another self repair.
It would be hard to say that Manteca Trailer and Motorhome is bad because of this but hopefully they (and there customers) will read this and be aware that not all issues are evident even with a pre-​delivery inspection. Heartland however should get raked over the coals for there shabby plumbing work. Also to no surprise the hidden spaces contain plenty of sawdust and electrical trimmings left behind as they are negligent in cleaning up after them selves.
Sadly, my son was intending to buy a similar model Jayco trailer from Manteca Trailer and has changed his mind because of bad review and his sisters experience. I personally am tempted to purchase a Windsport motor home but am having second thoughts now myself.

My wife and I have been day dreaming about getting an RV for some time and a few months ago we decided that we would take a trip to Manteca Trailer and Motorhomes and was blown away. We got amazing service from Rod Achziger. He answered all of our questions and was incredibly helpful. We’re a new couple to the RV world and he was patient with us and really took us seriously. Serious enough we bought a 2015 Itasca Navion 24V and absolutely love it.
We’ve already been on a handful of trips and it was the best investment we’ve ever made. Thanks for making it possible and for the amazing deal. Thanks Rod for being so professional, and respectful.

Good place to get your motorhome I purchased a new 2015 Jayco motorhome last year and I really never used it so I called the dealership to see if they’d be interested in buying it and the owner called me promptly and offered me a very reasonable Price to buy it back. So I just took the motorhome back to them and ended up buying the trailer at a very reasonable price I got to say that I would recommend themand have had a very pleasant experience doing business with them they are very professional.

Angry post resolved. They do work hard to help. They also have the best deals and quality.

I have been taking my RV here for a few years now for service. I have been very impressed with the service staff (Nathan Birdsong in particular) as he always goes out of his way to make sure that our needs are met and the RV is serviced and ready when promised. In the past I have dealt with other similar companies in the area and their customer service always left something to be desired as did the quality of work that was performed. I would highly recommend Manteca Trailer!

Thanks Vicki Allen for answering my questions very quickly. Also for all your help in researching, that help my husband tremendously in the process to making the right decision.
