Venetian Furniture

They follow you around the store. Everywhere is posted no photo signs. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my life. We wanted to leave the second we opened the door but felt pressured to stay. Too expensive compared to Sunnyvale, ca which has 10x cost of living.

I was at this store on 01÷24÷16 with my family and the bold white guy cursed at me when I tried to correct him on a price mistake he made. He said «I don’t want to do any business with you anymore. Why don’t you and your family leave the store and get the F###K out of here.» I was very shocked to hear that because I have worked in retail mgmt for over ten years and I have never treated a customer like that. I did not want to create a scene there since I had my kids with me. I wish I had read the reviews here before visiting the store. I am not surprised why their reviews are horrible. They offered me a dining set for $ 4600 and I bought the same set from Stockton Premeire furniture for $ 3500. Please stay away from this place. They don’t deserve to get any business.

The furniture looks great, but it is really overpriced junk! We bought two dinette sets, one for the kitchen, the other for the formal dinning. The first cost $ 1500.00 not including tax, and the other was $ 1800.00, not including tax. Well, the kitchen set is so pretty in its appearance that my husband and I rarely use it. So the first time I used it, the lg space bar fell off! The dinning set, was never used so I decided to use it, and the side arm piece broke in half! I learned a valuable lesson, I will start to analyze my furniture as to how it is made, and its total quality, first before I buy!

When I came into the parking lot of this extremely large building it was very empty I almost thought it was closed, and I soon found out why. I am a younger male in my twenties and was not approached by a salesperson, I was yelled at across the room, but that was it. I have been shopping for furniture for about 3 months now and their inventory was overpriced by 200 to $ 500 on each major item. I asked them if they would at least match the price of another place for the same product and the manager wouldn’t even look me in the eye and walked away even before I was done talking. Very rude, zero customer service and when you over price by that much it’s almost like you’re calling the general public stupid. We know a good price when we see one and this place does not have them.

My husband and I went there looking for a dining table and bedroom set. The furniture was very nice and we were greeted in a friendly manner. The sales person showed us a couple of tables that fit the description that we had in mind but none was quite right. We thanked her and then browsed the store… problem? The sales lady would not leave us alone. We were not able to browse in peace, it was a bit off putting. Don’t think we will be spending our money there. I’m sure another furniture store will have what we want and if not I’m sure we will be able to find it in a catalog

Not even worth a consideration. This place is horrible. The customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen or experienced. As a professional leadership, sales, and customer service trainer I’ve seen it all. This place is exactly why customers get mad and VERY VERY DISSATISFIED.
DON’T waste your money or time. From my last post we finally received the replacement for my daughters bed. Of course through the process not one communication of when or how long we would have to wait. We had to follow up.
Then upon delivery today I was advised by Haung and Anthony they were instructed to just drop off the parts. «PARTS»??? I have a broken bed by which was deemed from the evaluation as a defect and all parts must be replaced.
Customer service tells me no only broken parts. Really? This is a joke. They take more pictures and in the end my daughter doesn’t have a bead after 3 months. I have a broken bed in my garage taking up space.
My lawyers and public media notified. See you in court.

I didn’t want to give even one star.
I bought a sectional, then it went on sale, so I call and asked what the policy was and the
” customer service person «said, „We don’t know what’s going on sale“ We don’t give money back». It was $ 200.00 difference!!!
I’m a single mother and work hard for my money.
I will never go there again.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! Do not waste your time, money, sanity on this place. The so called owner Cindy is a piece of work. She will attempt to avoid you at all cost. I’ve already contacted the BBB. Good Luck!

Horrible customer service. Carol is very unprofessional and never returns calls she just says that to get you off the phone.
We bought a $ 2,000 section in March and the warranty (that is a joke). I damaged the center console on accident with nail polish remover. In the fine print it list nail polish remover as covered. This was April 9^th we got the run around from both the store and the warranty company for 4 months!!! I had to keep calling to check when our replacement part would be in. I was told by the warranty company that they approved it in May and it was on the store now to get us the part. A few months of calling and never getting an answer and Carols attitude, I finally got someone else that ACTUALLY returned my call the same day and magically the following Monday our part was in. My husband said when he went to pick it up Carol was just as rude in person as she was every time on the phone.
The leather section isn’t worth the money and all this hassle. It’s already falling apart.
We will NEVER do business with them again. Lesson learned and I will make sure everyone I know never goes there.
They get two starts because John on the sales floor was nice and Sophie was awesome on the phone and returned my call the same day.
Carol should learn to relax its just furniture and it’s not coming out of her pocket we PAID for a warranty.

Bought a leather couch from this place and within a month the couch is cracking
terribly. Had to file a complaint with BBB since the store is non responsive and has given us the run around. There are 7 other complaints on the BBB website.
Beware of this place.

Sitting on my new couch as I write this review…
I’ve never seen this place before, but the constant flyers they mail out had me intrigued. As I always do, I went to Unilocal to read reviews… There was one or two that had me thinking that maybe this wasn’t the place for me, but I went in anyways.
I’m glad we did. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by many people. We told them what we were looking for, and they led us to the perfect sectional. The price was a lot more affordable than a few places here in Modesto that we checked. We were able to set up delivery for the very next week, and it was only $ 69 to deliver to Modesto from Manteca (some places in town wanted to charge us over $ 100 to deliver in town).
The delivery crew arrived on time, and we’re very friendly and had my couch set up in about 15 – 20 minutes.
All in all we are very satisfied! Will be back soon to look for a new dining set

Venetian has some nice looking pieces of furniture, but their customer service is horrendous. We ordered a sectional a little over a month ago. While we were shopping, I kept expressing to Drew that I wasn’t sure I wanted to order anything just yet because our apartment wasn’t ready and I wanted to get measurements before purchasing. He told me that if it didn’t fit, we could reselect for free. After reading the reviews, I felt u sure so I asked the lady that was putting together our invoice if we could reselect should we have any issues. She looked at me confused. I told her that Drew told us we could do that. She called her boss and told her that Drew told us we could reselect and if that would be okay. After some talking, the person on the other line said yes. Now, if this is a store policy, shouldn’t ALL the employees be aware of it? I had her write on the invoice and sign that we could reselect. Sure enough, we got our apartment and realized quickly that the sectional would not fit. Before even picking them up, we called Venetian and let them know that we needed to reselect. Thankfully, they did that with no problems. We ordered a new couch from there several weeks ago along with a 3-​piece coffee table set. For starters, one lady (I’m assuming the owner) was trying to convince us to it the coffee table set that was on the floor versus the one I liked in the catalog. We live in an apartment so I wanted a coffee table that was small and I told her that. She then replied that the one on the floor was the same size as the catalog one. It wasn’t. I was sure to check the dimensions of both. and we were told it would take 3 – 4 weeks. That’s average time so we had no problem with that. We got a call a week ago that our couch and coffee table set had arrived but no one could deliver them for another week. That was also fine. I called them today to see around what time the delivery people would be here and was told between 3 – 8. The sells staff is very rude and uneducated on their products and prices. My wife was in there Friday and we returned back on Sunday and the price was 400 dollars more and even higher than the sales price. I asked to talk to the manager and she refused to talk to me. I also had better prices from manufacturer deals an they refused to budge. I wouldn’t waste your time.

Horrible place to buy furniture, warranty is garbage like there items they sell, paid an additional $ 500 «for there awesome warranty»…what a joke they will find any excuse not to have your furniture fixed. Go to Walmart there stuff Is probably better.

I don’t understand what type of business they are running but it’s sure is unethical. Beware, they do not disclose their sale terms clearly, will give you a hell of a time returning or exchanging their furnitures. They lack accountability. Next time you are looking for furnitures, skip this place and save yourself time and money.

I always drove 99 and see this beautiful building and it interest me to check the place out, after seeing the furnitures come find out they sell almost 75% higher than anyone else. No wonder they can afford a fancy building. unknowledgeable sales ppl and unfriendly management. I don’t see them being in this business for a long time. Can’t judge a book by its cover! Plz Shop somewhere else. Trust me on this.

I spent a lot of money for ON SALE furniture. The floor display, had a hole in it. So, I ended up ordering furnture from them through their warehouse… a warehouse, I never knew existed. From what the owner’s wife had told me was, they didn’t have a warehouse. Needless to say, they over charged for everything… from the delivery to the insurance. I only live 20 minutes away and I’m pretty sure, I’m going to pay off the furniture before I even get it. Every time I call them to see why I haven’t received my furniture, they brush me off the phone. IT’S BEEN 5 WEEKS. :(

Venetian has some of the best furniture selection I’ve seen in the area. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and I’m glad I checked them out despite all the other odd rants Unilocalers may have given Venetian out of dissatisfaction with their service. I was in store for a living room sofa set and new bedroom set for the upcoming holidays, and the salesman who helped me complete my order wasn’t pushy as I browsed the store and was very knowledgable when I asked about other color availabilities for the sofa and love seat set that I was interested in. I got so many compliments on it when my relatives came over for Thanksgiving! The front desk staff was polite and helped me schedule a delivery that fits well with my schedule, and the guys who delivered my order were very accommodating to my requests on where to park and set things up.
The store itself was gigantic and very well-​organized and decorated. I noticed that Venetian tends to carry larger furniture pieces, designed for single-​family homes, in contrast to apartment living, but they have an interior designer in house that can help answer any questions you may have about size, design and fit. All in all, I was happy with my purchases from Venetian and will recommend them to family and friends.
Parking is in a private lot, accessible as soon as you exit from Hwy 99.

This is an odd location. I wasn’t sure how to find the parking lot. It faces SR 99, but you have to enter from Moffat Blvd. It’s partly my being new to the area, and an odd design. I was greeted by Roshni and she was very pleasant. I told her that I was looking for living room tables as well as a small dining set.
Many things were discounted and they had a wide variety of big furniture. It wasn’t really a place for apartment dwellers. However, I found a pub height table and chairs that fit well and it of course, was at a discount that went away Sunday. It was still around $ 1000, which wasn’t out of my range but I couldn’t see how this was $ 1000 furniture, but with the chairs, it wasn’t completely unreasonable.
I’m still debating to purchase something but their furniture really isn’t that much different than that of most stores in town, unfortunately. In a few cases, unique pieces meant unique sizes that didn’t really fit my apartment. This isn’t much more than Ashley or American Signature type furniture and the prices seem a little more than other stores but not horrible. The courtesy I received from the salesperson was appreciated.

Cons — Where to start?! So my wife and I went there last week and fell in love with a couch. They were offering 15% off of 2995 special (regular price 3995) = $ 2545.75 plus 79 shipping and 199 extended warranty and tax = $ 2961.14 (they will cover shipping). The sales person Jim, was very nice (so it seemed). We needed to get to an appt but would be back. Before I left, I asked if they would price match. He stated only if its the exact same couch. Apples to apples as he put it. So I went home, looked up the couch and found 5 different on-​line furniture stores that had the exact (apples-​for-​apples) couch for sale for as low as $ 1699-​$ 2199.
A couple days pass, as Jim had his days off so we decided to wait for him to come back as this was a commission based job and we felt we could wait to give him the deal since he was so «nice». We walk in ask for Jim, have small talk, I hand over 4 print outs and asked which one they could match. He quickly scans the documents says we won’t go for this, online is different. I said you you said apples to apples. So then I asked would you do $ 2000. He hands me back the papers and walks away. My wife thought, he was checking with the manager or something. I look up front and he’s sitting down waiting for new victims to come in. As we leave he waves bye. WOW! completely rude. He just walked away. No counter offer. No… I’m sorry I can’t match it. He just walked away.
If you want a good customer experience. I guess you have to pay their asking price with all their bells and whistles.
So we leave and as we do so, I’m calling the online store. My wife decides to call the Venetian to speak with management to explain. A lady answers the phone and my wife asked for Owner or manager. She says she can’t give that information out. Huh? My wife says she’d like to speak with someone about our experience there. She said I’m the best your going to get. I’m the office manager. I can take down your complaint and pass it along. Just forget it.
We ordered our couch online. Same set Apples to apples. Base price $ 1899 plus 219 shipping plus 249 extended warranty = $ 2367 (no sales tax buying online). Saved myself $ 595 and didn’t have to deal with or give my money to Venetian Furniture.
Honestly you could do so much better elsewhere. Its even worth the drive to RC Willey in Rocklin where you can get top grain leather for the same price as Venetians fabric prices.
