I highly appreciated VLC’s prompt courteous service. We are in the middle of a hot spell and I was very grateful they would come out the same day. The repair on my air conditioner was done in a timely manner and prices are very reasonable. Alfredo is professional and polite and very knowledgeable and makes sure the job is done right the first time. I would recommend VLC Heating & Air Conditioning to family and friends.

I had VLC move and rewire a home ac unit. The work was top notch and the price was lower than anyone else. Also they were on it right away. He cleaned the unit and did a overall check of the heat and a/​c unit. Also they showed up when they were supposed to. This place is top notch and I would not listen to the bad reviews.

I have had Alfredo do several Jobs for me… My handyman whom is a licensed contractor had some doubts with some of his repairs and cost of the repairs he made. I sent him out to one of my (last job) rentals, and the tenant over heard him, and warned me that they might be taking advantage of me with the $ 450 repair he said we needed to get the air conditioner up and running. I had a second HVAC guy come out «Tony» 209÷658−9648, he took a look at it and said that there was a disconnected wire in the system, that was the reason the air conditioning unit was not working. He connected the wire, and the unit has been working great for over a month now.

I want to start out by saying that Alfredo seems to be a nice guy. He came on a Sunday when no one else would and was very thorough when explaining to me about the issue I was having with the air conditioning in my home. In August, 2011, Alfredo replaced the compressor with a new one from Tecumseh. Although my compressor was still under warranty, he convinced me that it was cheaper and less of a hassle to purchase a new one than to deal with the company who held the warranty. The cost was $ 2028. 7 months later, in April 2012, the new compressor went out as well. Alfredo let me know that all of the labor and compressor was covered, but that I had to again pay for the r-​22 refrigerant. After waiting a little over 3 weeks (and a few phone calls), Alfredo came and replaced the «warranty» compressor. Even though everything was under warranty, I ended up spending another $ 983 on freon at $ 90 a pound.
I called around to multiple other HVAC repair places and was quoted a price for r-​22 ranging anywhere from $ 18 – 50 a pound.
Although I like Alfredo as a person, I can’t help but feel like I was being charged extra to make up for the fact that this was a «warranty» job. Also, the warranty on the replacement is retroactive to the date of the first compressor, which means I have 3 months of coverage. Apparantly, if this new compressor goes out as well, I’m stuck with a $ 3000 broken compressor. I have never received any of the warranty information in writing and am waiting on a call back from Tecumseh to verify this information.
I am not saying that the work Alfredo did was substandard. It seemed like he was very thorough and did the testing which was required for the job. I am saying that I recommend that you receive warranty information in writing before you sign up for any job and to «shop around» if you feel that the price for the freon is too high. Thank you.

A note of caution: always ask for a second opinion if it costs over $ 200.

1^st time my ac broke and dont know a clue about Ac. This dude charged me $ 500 for 9lbs of freon! 2 days later broke again. They came back and one of their employees told me I got robbed. I learned my lesson… I won’t recommend ppl like this! Trust me go somewhere else.

Very punctual, professional and was available the day I called! Did not cost an arm and a leg to get my unit up and running again in this valley heat. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family. You would not be dissapointed!

Great service!!! Two thumps up. I highly recommend Alfredo to be your permanent heating and air conditioning guy. On 8÷11÷2012 Saturday I looked up some companies on the yellow pages on my iPhone app and he was the first one to pop up. So, I called him and an actual person picked up and not an answering machine. I explained to him that my parents air conditioner hadn’t been working for a few years, and that we have had it and needed it to be repaired. May I add the temperature in Manteca that day was 102 degrees HOT. He listen to my problem and was very professional and friendly which I appreciated. Alfredo told me that he could be at the house within 15 minutes, which I thought was wonderful. He arrived shortly after and as I pictured him, he was a very nice guy to work with which made it that much better. He immediately went to work and within Just 15 minutes he fixed it. Ok, so many other companies have tried fixing it and many have failed. All of the other companies suggested that we buy a brand new unit. But Alfredo (VLC Heating & Air Conditioning) fixed the issue on the spot within minutes. If you are looking for someone who is reliable, honest, and knows his stuff this is the guy for you. I have told all of my family and friends about the excellent service Alfredo provided for us. Above all the price he charged was Amazing, which I couldn’t believe. He also speaks spanish.

Our A/​c was down and we called all around to get it checked out. Couldn’t get a hold of anybody. Nothing but machines. We finally got a hold of Alfredo. He was so helpful came out in the middle of the night. Found the problem immediately. Had our A/​c up and running in no time. He explained everything to us. Very thorough. He was super friendly and helpful. Best service by far. We’ll never go with anybody else. We even signed to get our maintenance check ups with him on the spot. We were that confident that there was nobody better for the job. Highly recommend to everybody.

I have had issue with my air condition unit every summer since I’ve in this house four years ago. All appliances use to be under warranty until the developers went bankrupt.
So now I am stuck with the bill until I show proof that the air condition has been fixed to obtain a home warranty again.
