History

Established in 2007.

In February 2007 the first Solos Pizza opened in Maple Grove.

The concept was a hit, blending the look, feel and flavor of artisan-​style pizza with 21st century consistency.

The second location, in Plymouth, Minnesota opened in June 2008 and the third location in Eagan opened in 2010.

My wife and I just discovered this restaurant/​pizza place after 7 years and must say we have been missing out for a long time. It’s great food pizza sandwich’s but the STAFF is even better we even came back the next day to try the sandwiches. I’ve been in the food business and it’s tough but their doing something very right. Can’t wait till my daughter comes to see us in June she and her children will love this place and after paying über high prices in San Francisco I’ll have a 20% discount.:-) :-) :-)

Free ice cream! Decent pizza. I like the fun combos they have like white sauce with bacon and spinach. The cheese sticks are better than the garlic dough balls, but it’s essentially a cheese garlic pizza. The garlic sauce they brush on everything is the reason I’ll probably keep coming back. Plus the locations. Oh and the free ice cream. Did I mention it’s pretty good for a chain with lots of locations? Yeah, not much else to say except it’s better than most.

Very yummy pizza. It’s like the Subway sandwich shop version but with pizza! We come here often for take out or eat in. My wife loves the spicy tomato sauce with the Italian sausage and black olives (very good!) and I like the regular tomato sauce with green olives and Canadian bacon. So yummy! And they keep adding to their menu!

Our family loves this place — this location in particular since they have free soft serve ice cream! None of the others we’ve been to have that. Pizzas are terrific, free ice cream, and kids eat free on the weekends! Very tough to beat for our growing family.

I love the name/​idea! A «pizza café»…how delightful!
This place is one of the places that is exploding in popularity where it’s a Subway-​esque, they design your pizza right in front of you, you pick the stuff places. The «Café» vibe is evident by the small amount of tables with minimalist furniture.
I ordered a size of «Garlic Bread Puffs» to start and they were a pretty decent starter, quite comparable to Papa Johns Garlic Parm breadsticks, but a notch down from a good «garlic knot», from the right mom and pop place. The pizza itself was quite good. Very fresh mozzarella and they give your pizza the right amount of golden brown bake. Prices were quite reasonable given the location and service was speedy.

Pizza was ok. Side Caesar salad was pitiful. Don’t get the garlic bread puffs. Definitely not as good as Pizza Rev and they charge for each topping. Only plus — free soft serve ice cream!

The pizza is good but one of the employees reminded me twice that drinks and beverages are not allowed to bring in. It’s cold outside, so I had a hot tea in my hand, and I didn’t know this and I said sorry the first time she told me. As a customer I think this should be enough. She came to my table after the first time reminder and said everything again. I mean are you serious trying to kick me out? I’m feeling so uncomfortable in the restaurant and decided to take out my lunch. Will never come to this store or dine in again.

If you don’t care about crappy service, go here. Calling in your order won’t matter… still takes an additional 20 minutes. And the lead staff on duty gives an attitude and says, «well you got your food.» Never mind the poor baby screaming in the car while dad is trying to quick grab some dinner for the family… not customer friendly. Food is good, though.

The pizza is ok but a lot heavier than I expected. The ingredient choice is great but even the meat was overwhelmed with cheese which the crust couldn’t hold up, it was pretty mushy by the time I got it home. The staff overall seemed like they’d rather be anywhere else which probably explains why the place seems grimy and not well maintained/​cleaned.

Absolutely love this pizza and I kick myself for not trying it years ago! I love that my husband and I can get our individual pizzas and fast. I’ve also had a few of their tasty salads and they are super yummy. This is our go to pizza when we don’t need delivery. So good!

The pizza is decent, but the attitude of the staff ALWAYS sucks! We have been here a few tinmes and each time the product is actually really good, but the staff is so annoying. On one visit, they reminded us about 4 times that they were closing, and we would need to be finished eating and leave prior to closing. They always eem upset, throwing pans, a lot of pouting, and just generally annoying. Otherwise, they would be a 4 or even a 5.

They cook the pizzas fresh in front of your eyes! AND, bonus, they taste great!
This wasn’t the most affordable quick-​to-​eat place I’ve been to but the flavors and deliciousness factors outweighed… or justified the price.
The one thing I wish the place offered are locations down in Illinois close to me! :-)

I love this place! I live in Chicago, and I’m not impressed by the local chains (Malnatis, Giordanos, etc). Solos has personal pizzas, and there’s a special where you can get a pizza and salad for $ 8 or something. They have a good variety, and all of the pizzas I’ve had so far have been very tasty. The crust is nice and chewy without being too much, just the right amount of cheese. I have an unnatural love for this place.

Excellent salads! They’re huge, freshly made, & taste delicious! Their pizza is good, but not as good as it used to be. They recently changed the crust and sadly, it’s just not the same. But… each order still comes with those yummy little garlic butter bread puffs — yum!

I admit, the first time I walked in here I looked around and walked out. It was the electric ovens. To me it looked like some cheap takeoff of a pizzeria. Well it is sort of.
Now I’ve tried the pizza and I must admit it was pretty good. Small pizza for one or two to share and the price was pretty good. The place is on the small size but nicely laid out. This is sort of like a Papa Murphy’s that cooks it for you in a Quizno’s oven. Papa takes the quiz!
Not my top ten for pizza, not even top 20 but it will do in a pinch and the price is right. Better than the new Domino’s!
