Gaetano’s of Maple Shade

So we decided to order Gaetanos and we usually order from the one in Pennsauken but we decided to try the Maple Shade one because my mom had a menu. We only wanted a cheesesteak hoagie and onion rings and broccoli bites. I saw there was a coupon for one large sandwich and French fries or onion rings and recieve a free two liter of soda which was perfect for what we wanted. So my mother called, placed her order and then told her about the coupon. My mothers eyesight isn’t the best so she couldn’t read the coupon so I got on the phone with the lady and read it to her. She asked me what the number was on the back and I told her there wasn’t a number on the back but another coupon/​sale. She then explained that she didn’t have that coupon and the only one she had was for a large sandwich and French fries you recieve a free 2liter of soda. I told her that there was no expiration date on this coupon and it said no clipping required, redeem upon request when calling. She told me she couldn’t honor the coupon because she didn’t have that coupon and it wasn’t in her computer and it was an old coupon and they were under new management. She had nothing but excuses and argued with me on the phone for 10 minutes about the coupon. I told her that they should honor the coupon because there is no expiration date and the menu isn’t that old because my mother throws all the old menus out. She continued to tell me she couldn’t honor it and then I asked for her manager which conveniently wasn’t there so I asked when she would be available and for her name and number. She gave it to me and said I don’t know what you want me to do. I told her that she should honor the coupon. It wasn’t like I was asking for a free meal it was only for a free 2liter of soda and the only difference between her coupon and our coupon was the onion rings. So after arguing with me I asked my family if they still wanted to order from there and then the woman on the phone said that she would honor the coupon since it was ONLY a 2liter of soda. I said thank you many times and proceeded to place our order and hung up. It wasn’t about the soda it was the point. And wouldn’t you think that since it’s under new management that the new management would want to honor any old coupons to keep the customers coming back. You would think, right??? Any smart business owner knows that. When the food arrived and we opened it the cheesesteak was very thin in meat and there was a ton of lettuce on it. It was like eating a lettuce sandwich with a pinch of cheesesteak. After taking a bite it was nasty. It was the worst cheesesteak we have ever had in I don’t even know how long. We didn’t even eat half of the cheesesteak and I was going to give some to my dog but I won’t even do that because it was so disgusting. Never again will we order from Gaetanos in Maple Shade. We will continue to order from the one in Pennsauken. In my opinion if you are going to own a Gaetanos don’t skimp on the meat put in a cheesesteak or any sandwich. Keep the award winning food the same as it’s always been.

Horrible service. Do not even try to online. Tried to check on food after an hour, they told me they just got the ticket 20 minutes ago. The person on the phone was also extremely rude and told me my food has been sitting there just waiting for a delivery driver… so now I have a soggy cheesesteak. Thanks!

After our power went out we decided to order out since couldn’t cook, and thought it would be a treat. Gaetanos appealed to me because of their close location and the fact they boasted finest quality meats… only if by finest quality they mean mechanically separated and never touched by an actual butcher. Just a few bites into my steak I bit into chewy rubbery unappealing meat including gristle and bone, BONE! Instantly nauseated I wrapped the sandwich back up and brought it back for a full refund. We will never be going back here.

Got a mini and I thought it was good, not as good as they used to be, but still decent. Could have used a little more seasoning but it was good. Service was great and fast.

I just paid $ 10.50 for a cheese steak? I ordered the italian cheese steak. It was suppose to come with aged provolone and spinach. It had about 4 little pieces of spinach and hardly any cheese? I can’t believe they were voted best cheese steaks 2013 – 2014? Never again!

This USED to be the place to go to get a cheesesteak. I also liked their cheeseburger hoagie. How ever the size and quality of their steaks have plummeted over the last few years. You could split a regular size sandwich with someone and be stuffed, now they are half as big for the same price.

I wanted an order of fries on one of those 100 degree weather days… and let just say it wasn’t a good idea b/​c they were piping hot but very very delicious. I’m a fan of the fries b/​c they were really good. I plan to try a steak here really soon and I will than update this review.
The inside is clean and the staff was really friendly.
