He delivers a professional «classic» gentleman’s haircut using NO buzzers or clippers — done with the finest craft «hand» tools of the trade. He works carefully — never a rush job and can cut hair in a number of different styles! Also is great for conversation and is a truly caring individual. 5 STAR Easy!

I found Staynd Salon through an Internet search and was so glad that I did.
Over Thanksgiving 2015 while visiting from California, I had a last minute business appointment and needed a blowout. Stanyd was one of the only places open on Sunday and also offered a special discount for blowouts on that day. Jessica did a wonderful job on my hair which is a few inches below chin length. And also used a toner after the shampoo that made my existing highlights really pop. So lucky to have stumbled upon this place. Altogether, a great experience, would definitely use them again and in the aftermath, am getting my hair blown out at home more often.

To be honest, I called a few other salons first looking for a somewhat last minute Saturday appointment for a cut and color (based on recommendations from others) and none of them could take me. I finally called StaYnd and they had only one opening with Trish because of a cancellation, I snagged it. Having just moved into the area from NYC I didn’t know what to expect and was a bit nervous.
Hands down the best cut I’ve had in years (including multiple city salons) and the color was perfect. She even blended in some old highlights I was thinking of ditching so that they looked natural again. Not only that, but everyone was professional, I barely waited even 5 minutes, and Trish was truly a joy to talk to.
I left with soft, shiny, bouncy hair and they even gave me a new customer discount that they didn’t tell me about over the phone when they quoted my price. Such a kind surprise.
If you are looking for appearances, this is not your salon. It’s small and BUSY and not at all fancy. I don’t care about appearances anymore, however. I’ve had enough of mediocre Stylists at supposedly high end salons. It’s clean, comfortable, efficient and they served up a strong cup of coffee to boot. Happy to have found my new salon and hope this review saves you the time and money StaYnd saved me.

From a long time resident in this area, and I have tried nearly all of the top salons in the area, and a few in NYC. I have thick wavy fine hair that often gets cut in a shaggy or too texturized way. I booked my appointment for a haircut at StaYnd with Cindi, and when I met her I noticed that her own short haircut was perfectly shaped, her colleagues explained that she is constantly trimming it herself to keep it perfect. I also noticed that she has a lot of fine hair like me. She spent ample time with me to discuss cutting my shaggy, outgrown, super layered medium-​length hair into a chic precision angled bob. I was a bit hesitant, because I know it can be a difficult style to cut and have had it before with inconsistent results. I agreed to go along with it because I felt assured by her length of experience, and I was definitely wanting a more uniform look instead of shaggy layers. It was a total success. This is the most precise cut I have ever had. It styles perfectly every time, and takes far less time to blow out. She didn’t have to thin out my hair either. The angles perfectly complement my bone structure and I look years younger. I’m so glad I went with her advice. Cindi also gave my daughter an amazing short haircut which was quite a feat because of my daughter’s super thick hair. I’m so happy to have finally found a talented stylist that can really cut hair and shape it to complement the face and whole person. Cindi also has a wonderfully positive and upbeat personality. I also want to mention that Cindi stayed after hours to take my appointment during the busy holiday season. The manager also stayed and was so pleasant and welcoming and gave me an awesome sample of a dry shampoo. This place really knows how to serve their clientele and I am blown away and grateful.

I booked Alma and her team to do bridal hair and makeup for our wedding on ⁸⁄₂₂. What an AMAZING job! All of the bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, the mother of the groom, and our little flower girl were thrilled with how their hair and makeup came out. Trish is a very talented makeup artist — she made up 8 women in rapid succession and everyone looked completely flawless. As the bride, I was thrilled with how my hair and makeup came out. I was really nervous since my hair can be a but unpredictable and usually don’t like to get my makeup done. However, Alma is an expert and I just thought everything came out so perfect. I looked like myself… just better :) One of my bridesmaids even commented that she liked the way her hair/​makeup came out at my wedding better than at her own! A great experience… would definitely recommend them to any other brides planning an upcoming wedding!

I absolutely recommend this place. Alma did an amazing job with my hair, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I had an upcoming event, and I got my hair done on a Thursday at a salon in Colonia, but the girl didn’t do what I asked. Alma took me in Friday, and fixed my hair. I was so happy, and I ended up making friends with everyone at the salon lol.
Everyone there is so amazing, I felt apart of their family, and that always a great feeling to have.

StaYnd is a great salon. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and Cindy did an AMAZING job with my hair. It was one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. It’s also located in a really cute section of Maplewood, right next to the train station, and there is a good amount of on-​street parking. I will definitely be going back!

They did an awesome job on my highlight and color. Right next to the train station so it is super convenient.
