My name is John Serven. I have been in the building and remodeling business for over 25 years and have worked on hundreds of homes throughout New England. Each project receives the utmost attention to detail. This guy is a professional scam artist. Do not hire him. He’s changed locations and names so many times in order to avoid legal troubles. He ruined my house during a cold winter project, letting pipes freeze because he never showed up for the project when he said he would. He’s very good at collecting money for jobs he never completes. Look him up online. You’ll find dozens of complaints and litigation. He’s a liar and a crook. DO NOT HIRE HIM!

Had to do a little remodeling project to my bedroom because the sheet rock was literally falling apart. John and another one of his team members came by to take down all of the old sheet rock and put some new stuff up that hopefully won’t be crumbling anytime soon.
What made me come on Unilocal and give them a good review was the fact that they noticed how terrible the hardwood floors were in my room. He gave me a great price and did it right in the spot. It looks awesome. Can’t stress enough how much I love people/​businesses putting in the extra effort

John and his highly skilled team were excellent. I found them to be very professional. They showed up on time! and the job was completed on schedule. I was afraid that redoing our bathroom was going to disturb the entire house, but it was easy and painless.
We are currently thinking of doing an addition to the house this summer. I know that I will call John if we decide to do so. I highly recommend them for any job.

I live in an antique home that was built in 1848. I have worked with John Serven on several occasions. He has replaced all the wooden clapboards and gutters, built new stairs and wooden shutters, moldings and more for my home. To anyone who owns one of these beautiful pieces of history you know they are a great deal of work and nothing ever goes right the first time.
That never seemed to fluster him.
The great thing about John is that he is a hands on person. He was always there overseeing his crew every step of the way.
John and his crew were very professional and respectful of both my home and my property. The quality of his work was always A+ and at the end of the day with there clean up effort you would never know that so much construction had been going on.
John and his team are incredible. I will continue to recommend him to my clients, friend and neighbors.

I’ve hired John Serven Construction from Lynn on several occasions. John and his crew have worked both in my home and at my office. At my Brookline home they built two rooms, added a ceiling, and put in a floor. At my Newton office he has remodeled closet supply space, added shelving and tore down a wall. Each time I have been very pleased with the quality of the work and a fair price. What I have been most impressed with was the crew’s cleanup effort afterwards. They were courteous enough to remove all unwanted and used materials, swept and cleaned and kept the dust out of our living areas. Recommended.
